    I find it extremely snobbish that some of you disrespect those who are here because of Tom & Jerry or Bugs Bunny.
    The creators of those shows knew exactly what they were doing. Exposing children to great classical music. The fact that they come here today as adults to listen again is a testament of their appreciation of the classics and hopefully will be exposed to more.

      Some people just need to find a way to feel better somehow, forgetting that for most people, popular media of some kind is how they get into classical music of any kind. I think Benjamin Zander made the point that a lot of the musicians themselves always perform with the idea that just 1% of all music listeners will listen to classical, and they have this sort of snobbish antipathy and resignation instead of trying to be cheerful that a, they have an audience, and b, that they have the opportunity to grow it. My words, not his. He's a lot nicer and funnier about it.

      As a pianist I can tell you she’s not feeling a “high” while she plays. Playing music takes a toll emotionally and it is extremely difficult. Nothing about it is fun for the musician, we do not space out during performances. It’s extremely focused work that is about as tedious and nerve wracking as performing surgery. If your just playing the same 4 chords over and over again in isorhythmic fashion (pop, rock, blues, jazz) it’s a different story. Then you can space out and get “high”. Not when you play Liszt or anything complex

I wanted to heap praise on her expressive interpretation and her flawless execution of rubato, something many Liszt performers treat as an afterthought. Not here! She holds these notes with the care and wonder in which we would hold the face of a new born baby in our hands. Its a true revelation hearing this. Lots of comments about who's version is best, so I'll put my 2 cents in. If you want it classical and clean - Adam. If you want it rock and roll - Valentina. If you want your heart touched - Tiffany. If you want to hear completely destroyed versions - either Lang Lang or that curly brunette (can't remember her name).

    • @etmax1
      @etmax1 5 років тому +2

      I find this is my favourite version of HR2, however I much prefer Valentina's Moolight Sonata to Tiffany's. I don't know why, but I feel like she stumbles in a couple of spots but then IANE

    • @jimmyfong2202
      @jimmyfong2202 5 років тому +5

      btw lang lang's version is in the Horowitz Arrangement so thats why its rather different because thats ow it is and lmao stands for laughing my arse off or ass if your american

    • @etmax1
      @etmax1 5 років тому +2

      I would suggest that laughing one's ass off should be wrong even for an American considering it's donkey. An arse on the other hand is one's posterior.
      Once an ass, always an ass you might say. An ass can also be a person acting somewhat stupid, through association with the way donkeys behave compared to horses.

      Thanks. Music, like humor or literature is so completely subjective to any individual taste that it's difficult to agree upon. If I unwittingly disparaged yours or anyone else's likes or dislikes, I apologize. By the way, I am American, but arse is more elegant, I think.

      Tbh, if you are familiar with the technique used in this, it will be easier for you and since the Friska almost always only use two chords you won’t have any problem with that
      (I’m 14 attempting this beast, i composed exercises for myself and that helped me get through this)

    Excellente interprétation, peut-être une des meilleures, tout en sobriété, une virtuosité contenue, au service de Liszt, et non pour sa propre gloire. C'est remarquable. Bravo à la jeune Tiffany Poon, une grande pianiste (tout le contraire, par exemple, de Lang Lang, immature et qui en fait des tonnes).
