    I really enjoy the fact that you show reality in your vids and that it's not all "Rainbows and Unicorns".

    I first subscribed when you had problems with the 'Fresh Breeze'. In this video I think I saw SIX paramotors and wondered if there were more. Glad to see you're doing OK.

    I am so impressed with your patience and positive attitude towards all these maintenance problems you have had over the years. I'm curious if you have considered purchasing a electric paramotor to eliminate the maintenance problems? For example, the SP140 by OpenPPG? I have been delaying getting into the paramotoring world because of the high maintenance of these two stroke motors. My job doesn't afford me the free time to do this much maintenance. I love "wrenching" on motors, but just don't have the free time. So I have been "holding out" on going into paramotoring until the electric paramotors become more practical. Love to here your opinion if you think electric paramotors are a good purchase if you were to only own one paramotor.

    • @BartBerry
      @BartBerry  3 роки тому

      Thank you Mike, as far as electric paramotors I'm all in for sure as soon as technology allows for longer flights, as much power as 2 strokes for a large man such as myself, and safer battery technology since your literary strapped to a huge battery pack lol 😆 I have never seen in person or had the privilege to fly an electric paramotor but I am following the progression closely and would love to see things go that way... :)

      @VARocketry 3 роки тому +1

      Mike: The 'dirty 'lil secret' of paramotoring is you HAVE to become a 2-cycle engine mechanic. Electric paramotors can't come fast enough!!!

    Thats a lot of work good thing you don't have to pay to have it done well maybe a couple of beers. $400 for a clutch is outrageous. Damn Bart where do you get the money for all those paramotors I'd have to sale one to get another. Looks like your doing fine keep it up!

    • @BartBerry
      @BartBerry  3 роки тому +2

      Lol thx ya a couple of beers is a cheap labor price to pay 4 sure :) and all those motors aren't mine... I have 3 and Grahm keeps 3 at my house since he flies out of here :) so there are 6 motors here but it's getting a bit crowded lol 😆

    I was waiting for the I spend more time fixing the mfer than flying it. Also, I don't think that a break in period is really necessary. I do agree that air conception is better at getting you replacement parts and warranty items. A question, have you had to do anymore maintenance on the fresh breeze since Tim Garvey worked his magic on it. ?? As far as money is concerned, I've had my power Atlas repaired enough times to almost by another wing. I'm thinking about selling a kidney to get another motor. I love your videos. Keep up the good work.

    • @BartBerry
      @BartBerry  3 роки тому

      Lol with over 100 hrs now on the tornado I don't think I could say that about this motor lol 😆 and other than routine maintenance on the fresh breeze I havnt had to do anything to it since Tim fixed it, but I dont fly her much nowadays with 2 other motors to choose from. What motor do you think you would buy if you got another one ? Thanks Richard 😊

    Howdie - came across this video after being grounded for 4 weeks now - Starter related issues and burned out main switch - anyhoo - now need some advice on the magneto as never had spark issues before but now there is zero spark and have checked the airGAP and that magnet is free of any debreeee........ any advice or where to look next.

    • @BartBerry
      @BartBerry  2 роки тому +1

      I had similar issues once and this is probably not what is going on with you but mine was simply the spark plug boot. If your magnet gap is gapped correctly I would next just take a quick look at the boot and new plug just to make sure it's not that simple ? If it's not that I would start tracing back the problem with a multi meter and maybe help zero in where the problem is starting from ? Please let me know if that doesn't work and I'll try and help you troubleshoot further.

      @@BartBerry Thanks man, so did the basics - spark plug replaced with two new ones - spark plug gap checked and even made smaller - Measured the coil with 4.0 and 7.0 resistance respectively between the plates and sparkplug lead and plates and kill switch tab
      Well also started by removing the kill switch tab to mke sure it is not grounding the coil :D

      So bad there is no decent literature on the Tornado. Makes things difficult to trouble shoot
      So Starter was replaced due to it not working - it blew the Relay and replaced that - now no spark....

    Thanks

    • @BartBerry

      @@BartBerry Thanks Bart. I have a pair of Scouts with Mosters. One set up for cross country and another one for acro. I thot about buying the tornado for acro for its super quick climbs, but catastrophic engine failure at 100-200 hours is not decent in my opinion at this point of our sport. This engine won’t last me long based of my type of use even i’m on top of preventive maintenance.
      Thanks for the vids tho coz i learned a lot. I bet you are a hoot to fly with.
      Be safe.

  • @projectryan9062

    Not too many of the these 280’s here stateside, but seems like reliability is not that good compared to the Moster and support is a bit lacking. I’ll be skipping it for now.

      Lookin good buddy!! Next time you can put a deep socket behind that pulley to tap it out instead of a broom handle. A socket that’s just big enough to fit inside. You can also use a breaker bar and hold it straight back for room to hit with the hammer. Just a tip!!!! Great video bro. Talk soon!
