What is a hyperextended knee (ACL)?

I keep hyperextending my knee about 3-4 times a day for the last 2-3 weeks. Been in severe pain, finally able to see ortho tomorrow so we will see.

Sry, I forgot I wrote this. I had to have physical therapy. But they did a mri and said there was nothing there. It still hurts from time to time but it’s better.

The recovery is fairly fast and they can return to their sports in about 4 to 6 months

I got pancaked at football and my foot naturally stuck into the grass (I was wearing cleats) and immediately I got bad pain,I sat out for the rest of practice then I started taking ibuprofen and my knee was getting better with Lin the week after it happened so I went out and I started playing again but then I stopped taking ibuprofen on that weekend after returning because I wasn’t home and now the pain is unimaginable and my football season is over. But my coaches keep saying I’m lying and stuff.

my knee planted into the ground and i fell on the ground and it hurt but not so bad. It’s been 3 days and I’ve had no swelling and no severe pain. And I can walk more normally each day but i can’t run yet. I wasn’t thinking an acl tear so is it just a hyperextended knee?

@@zackyoung9813 yea you’ll be good in 2-3 you might fell some slight discomfort if you run at max speed but you should start fully running again around a month and you might fell discomfort even if it doesn’t hurt anymore
