I love it when publishers experiment with different formats. This is a really cool idea and I hope other publishers take note of it.

@@dangidana they're available in NIV and NASB95 for sure, possibly others. Zondervan/Thomas Nelson have a lot of formats but once one sticks it tends to get printed in NIV, NASB95, NKJV and KJV simultaneously. They also do NET and DLNT I believe but those don't get much traction.

Yeah dude! I’m actually most impressed by the cheapest one which I ordered last week. So lightweight and portable, and the cover is sooo grippy!

I've got a NASB Blue Buffalo Leather Passaggio and absolutely love it! The setting is really captivating. The 36gsm paper feels noticably better than the Quentells that I have.

That looks like a great Bible with a nice layout and excellent font size. I usually go for the leathersoft versions, and I love those long ribbon markers too. Another great review, have a blessed day!

I got the NASB Thinline Passaggio soft leather look and liked it so much I just bought the NASB Heritage Passaggio in blue buffalo leather. This is now my favorite Bible that I own.

I'm not sure if I like two formats but the text color brought up an idea. I'm not sure if any publishers have done this but I think it would be interesting to do a subtle (or maybe even a bold) color change in the text when scripture is quoted in scripture: When there's a quote from one book used in another book or spoken and recorded. It might be too confusing to use red but a dark blue would be nice.

If I understand you correctly, the NASB and the CSB both use bold text (small caps in the case of the NASB) when quoting the Old Testament in the New Testament. Not sure if this was what you meant though. Blessings. 😊🙏

I think I may like the blend in the Canterbury a bit better: double-column for prose, single-column for poetry. 🤔✌️🤓

Someone said yesterday that we are entering a new era in Bible publishing. This was after viewing a beautiful purple goatskin premium Bible with the speckled gilding. Absolutely beautiful! Now we’ve got the Passaggio setting which I think I’m going to love. No cross references though? That’ll probably curb my enthusiasm somewhat. I’m looking forward to the new Premier Thompson Chain Reference coming next year with comfort print. Can’t wait to see you unbox that one, Tim. 😊

I’d have to use this Bible for a bit to determine this, but my first impression is that it would make my brain hurt a bit to shift back and forth between double and single column.

I’d like the opposite setting, double column with poetry etc in single. 😂

    You know, it's funny...
This Bible annoyed me at first. The dual column layout for the poetry bothered me when I was trying to do a full read through of the Bible, but since I've recently been reading in smaller chunks, I'm not nearly as annoyed.
I have several NIV premier Bibles, but I keep coming back to this one. The heritage premier text block is too wide and my eyes get lost in the lines... The side column reference has no paragraph breaks, so the psalms just kind of... Run together, but it has amazing margins... my Cambridge Clarion is a perfect size, but I'm so torn about cross references cluttering the pages!
And so I keep coming back to this one... The font size is "oh my!" and the margins are plentiful. The reading experience for prose especially is unmatched.
What's a man to do? Just order them all lol

I just picked up my blue buffalo Niv Passagio and was reading in Habakkuk. I literally had to get out a regular double column edition and draw arrows showing where to read next in Ch.2. There is some real weirdness going on here. I did get my Bible on the bargain shelf at Mardel, so I am wondering if these were discounted for a reason and subsequent issues are corrected. Has anyone had the same issue?

Hi Tim! Thank you so much for your wonderful and informative channel! I am looking for a new Bible, and that is how I discovered your channel. I searched your videos to find one on choosing a Bible translation, and I couldn’t find one. I already have several inexpensive Bible of various translations. I would like to invest in a premium Bible, and wanted to know your thoughts on choosing which translation. Thank you, and God bless!

I’m actually going to get 2 Bibles instead of one. The first is the Cambridge Topaz in ESV. The second is the Schuyler Quentel in CSB. Thanks for your great advice on these!

Worth noting the size of this Bible is almost exactly the same as the NIV Premier Heritage Bible... Maybe something to do with the "normal" size of these?
