- Опубліковано 23 бер 2010
- In this video I give a short tour and test drive of a 2006 Dodge Caravan. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this van while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I show the van idling as well as take it on a thorough test drive through the city and highway on various surfaces. A thorough drive of this van designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I’ve always liked these vans for whatever reason
@Joshua You must really like junk then!
same
stylish and reliable
@@game_radiomusicBS! Quite the opposite of both those things 😂😂😂
@@2H2521 ur bullshit these are nice vans and are also reliable
@@hollydeleon6702They are total garbage, not nice & definitely not reliable. These are the official minivan of an illegal alien or a white trash family.
I've seen and rode in many V6 (mostly 3.3 and 3.8) Chrysler minivans, but never seen, heard, or ridden in a 2.4L 4-cylinder Chrysler minivan, so thanks Kyle for this tour and test drive!
The 3.8 is my favorite that’s what I have and it’s got really good power
I like the sound it makes when you take off from a stop
That's the 2.4 for ya
Same
It’s so Whiney lol
It sounds like it’s about to throw up. It sounds like my 2006 Honda Pilot with the ac on because it makes the compressor whine. But my pilot still sounds a lot better throughout ownership.
Are you Talking abt The Sound it Makes At 2:08? That’s a funny sound 😅
Oh man 3.8 is the way to go with these vans. I think even the short wheelbase 3.3 feels sluggish so I can't even imagine what the 2.4 is like!
A friend of mine had one, and when we took it up to Washington DC, it was num, unresponsive, and the seats were definitely not the most comfortable than what I sat in in my grandmother's old 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. Another thing about that van is that it was scary to merge with, because it did not push a lot of power at all. It barely had enough to get us up US 19 to parallel of I95. Don't take that van with you on a long trip.
@@colinwillis3392 😬 yikes.
Gotta love that caravan transmission wine!
I had one and it sucked ass, worst car ever, i had the 3.3l v6
i have one and its the best car ever lol
indestructible engine and transmission, 3.3 and a604
5:27 Can really hear it! My 2005 honda pilot used to do thst
@@StuffStudier Lol how did I just find you
@@seantheenthusiast9234 wow that’s funny lol
My mom still has her 06 Grand caravan it’s still rolling and has about 298,000 miles. On it!
300k miles?? wow!!
Sweet!! My family used to have one of these!
sickrides A long time ago, my Mom used to have a 1991-95 model of the same minivan. (I believe it was either the Chrysler variant or the Plymouth variant. I don’t remember.) Also my Great Aunt also had a 1991-95 Chrysler minivan as well, and I think her’s was the Dodge variant.
my family has one of these in this same color
Dodge caravan is awesome I love your channels I'm the fan of you
I really can’t wait to drive even tho I’m 12
I feel you i couldnt either im finally 18 and drive myself. very fun
You've got your entire life ahead of you 😆
@@CatWhiskerClaws HAH I sooo forgot I posted that I’m 15 now ONE MORE YEAR 😭😭😭
Great Minivan
What's important is that it gets you where you need to go and as long as it doesn't cost you much to run it's doing it's thing. I used to drive an old 89 Mazda MX6, total junker but it was more faithful to me than newer fancy Euro cars. It had a stereo, working AC and it started on every turn, it more than did it's job.
Your videos are awsome
the transmission on the 2001-2007 2009-present Dodge Caravan
Transmission
3-speed 31TH automatic with 2.4EDZ
4-speed 41TE automatic
I like this car, thanks to show
good test thanks you :)
I like those vans they had the most comfortable seats
I always love this van. Nice quality, dependable, i would take this van for a first car when i get older.
the transmission on the 2000-2007(America), 2009-present (China) Dodge Caravan

the 2001-2007 Dodge Caravan was assembled in
Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Great place to manufacture cars. 👍🏻
The grand Caravan has always been manufactured in Windsor Ontario
After watching this I'm glad we Canadians have had the 3.3L V6 as the base engine for a long time now lol. They actually still make this base vans with manual everything for Candians last I heard as part of the "Canada Value Package" only now in Grand Caravan form and, of course, with the 3.3L V6.
I like these versions of the Dodge Caravan. I call it the the shorty or baby. I would get this over the large long version with a roof rack of course.
I was surprised at the exhaust. Sounded better than my impreza
My dream van
I own a 2007 dodge caravan turbo charged and I love it. I have so many vehicles like an Acura RDX, Chevrolet Malibu, and a 2012 Ford Expedition. Oh, I forgot to mention I have a Ford Focus with power windows 2002 so BOOM!!!!!
Ill be 19 in a couple weeks and Im really looking forward into getting one of these or a 2004 dodge durango
Ill be 16 in less than a year and im trying to get either my moms 15' Corolla or my aunts 04' town and country
The Rusty Scooter which one did u get🤣
Dylan Vellu
I hope the 04’ Town and County
Have to red line just to catch up to traffic LOL
@Torin Jedidiah booo bots having convo
Nice job.

I've owned my base caravan since new in 2006 and it is a trooper. The 2.4L engine is an improvement over the 2.5 and 3.0L in performance on the caravan and on tight budget at 150hp (2.4L) on the base end of things. But it's basic transportation and you get what pay for!!! To me this engine sounds like the 2.2 with the smoother performance of the 2.5L but then I'm old enough to the difference and I've had the neon's 2.0 and all the K based products!! :)
this is a nice van
@arici19 ur not the only one, my mom actually got the same exact trim model. i drive it almost every day and its the sound that drives me nuts!!
the School I went to has a 2006 Grand Caravan, its Gold, has the 3.3, and has Power Windows and Locks. I actually rode and DROVE this van, because I was in the Automotive technology Class and we were in charge of maintaining the School Vehicles.
I like caravans and the e 150
salam nsayif is h
Ford Econoline better than the Dodge Caravan
I love it
Simple and reliable! I wanna Grand 3.8 awd
i had my caravan for 12 years
Super!!!
Those 2.4 Chrysler engines sound funny when you go off the line.
can you do the the weight dodge grand caravan
Nice
I drive one of these for my job, and it has lots of problems, especially for a car that only as 45,000 miles on it... it has a airbag light on, the engine line is periodically on, the suspension is extremely loud, and the power lock switch needs to be replaced on the driver's side door.
Thanks for posting, living in Canada our Caravans don't have the 2.4L 4cyl, and I've always wondered what it sounds like and how it performs! It seems very overwhelmed, especially around the 5:28 mark where it struggles to reach 40mph. I can't imagine what it's like to drive around with 7 passengers in it!
3:03 WHAAAT?? How did the video know I liked Rise Against?
A 4 banger in a van is a crazy idea. It seemed to work fine though.
This van is small and light. So its enough. Saves fuel vs a v6
Whenever my dads friend Abdul was a business man, he had a 2005 Dodge Caravan which is the same color but it was an SE and after he sold off his business, he sold that van to my dads friend Mohammed and he drove that van for a few years until getting a Honda Pilot
Great sounding 4 cylinder engine minivan
my dad used to own the same kind of van minus it was the slt and had the 3.3 v6. even the same blue
I have a Dodge Caravan SE since my High School Year
i like it,
Wow. I never knew they made the fuel and temp gauges so large for the base model. I'm so used to the tachometer makin' everything smaller.
Well the thing is that is can didn't have a rpm so they made everything else bigger. I owned this van and bought another one with the sxt packege and it had a rpm
good car
From gta 4 and 5
No because im gta v the minivan is a vapid vapid is ford no chyrsler
@@uriel680 oh yeah that's right vapid is a ford
Um no it's not as bad as you think it is!! I was around to to drive them with the 2.6 & 2.5 & 2.2 carbed even those where gutless. The 2.4L does a respectable job moving right along I own one I know and have every generation around. If you want towing power buy a damn V6 then!!! :)
is there something wrong with the dash? looks to me like the odometer keeps blinking
This Is A Pretty Good Van. Not Bad. But What I Really Like About Cars Is That I Love Is Dodge.
AKA Vapid Minivan
King Of Roadhouse o
Too much GTA
If he drives this vehicle, does it auto lock? This is a 2006 4th generation model. Most of those fourth generation minivans auto-lock when you drive, not first to third generation.
Imagine owning one for 10 years exactly like that no joke it's awesome
Yeh no joke I had one 2. Wait a minute. DAD?
I have a 2007 town and country that looks almost the same but mine has a 3.3 liter v6... I can’t believe this van has a 4 cylinder that would suck. It would have like no power
3.3 or 3.8 liters would be much better
It ran like a charm in that van trust me I owned one
@@jeremiahschmidt4964 yo me too. Wait are we related
this is my sons dream car!
Yikes, your son should set his standards higher.
Hey kyle nice vids, but can you please upload some more test drives :) already thanks 5/5
I have a 2006 Dodge GRAND Caravan SE and i'm from Canada so we have the Canadian version not US version.
me too
+Mike Geniole I am from ont Canada I got a caravan se 3.3 05 mix with town and country rb1 radio I never seen a 2.4 dodge caravan before I got my se 05 I saw a low bass just like this one but sliver 07 I turn it down due to it being super low bass and hate it
Am I the only one that prefers these older Chrysler minivans instead of the Grand Caravan that they sell these days?
No, I do too
kyle i'm a fan off you i have a 2000 dodge caravan red first power steering leaked then brake fluid but my dad and i fixed it
1:12 gotta love that 4 cyl. Chrysler engine
I like base cars, there's less to go wrong. I have a bone stock Volkswagen New Beetle
Spent half my life in my dads 2003 Caravan sxt. 327,000 miles on it.
Cool car!!! BTW, is this car not a Chrysler Voyager? ;)
5:30 holy shit its starting sound like a neon srt4
@cadga1390 that thing only got 150hp :( i got the same one and i'm thinkin of sticking a turbocharger on mine cuz it is very weak. if the dodge srt-4 neon has the same engine **plus a turbo** y can't the caravan
btw, i did make it above 50......... i made it to 52 lmaoo
i don't know why but every time i ride in one of these it seems demented. like it's missing something, cannot explain it but there you go. many recalls on these model vans. sienna is my all time fav next is odessy.
i hd a basic caravan just like that but it was a 99 witj the 4 cvlinder motor and loved the van but i wish i had the 3.8l engine. still dont know why they still have the 2.4 in the first place. by the way good vid man
my sister brandy has a 2004 care van dark blue its nice
Kasey Saffold Both my Mom and her Aunt had the early 90’s models of the same van. I think my Mom’s was either a Chrysler Town & Country or a Plymouth Voyager and I think her Aunt’s was a Dodge Caravan.
Caravan is spelled incorrectly
I have one of these and I hope to keep it forever but if i have to buy another car i hope it will be a hybrid Caravan.
Michael Dobbin
Do you still have this nice van?
Make a video of a 1999 plymouth voyager and a 1998 dodge caravan
Angel Danner The Plymouth Voyager, Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country were all basically the same exact thing with little differences.
that's the model year I'm looking for. how much was the one you test drove worth in the blue book?
the engine on the 2001-2007 2009-present (in China) Dodge Caravan
Engine
2.4 L EDZ I4
3.3 L EGA V6
3.8 L EGH V6
what type of music
i know a 3-speed auto it sounds like something from the 70s
@degaik hahaha it does!
Wikipedia said these things came with four cylinders all the way until 2007... I honestly thought it was bullshit.
Nuttin the 4 cyl has a high pitched sound to me and the 3.8 has a lower sound
This Minivan is also on the game in GTA “Vapid Minivan”
Hey,where are you putting the camera when you're doing test drive?
this is what i drive everyday. its alright haha wish i could get a nicer car but the van was only $1000 and I can't afford a new one :(
nice minivan...
zach williams
Thank You!
Really? I never knew that. Sienna is my favourite for minivans. And odyssey has the 6spd auto on high end models costing about the same as a new ml350.
what colour is it?
Blue or black?
@Gageschamehorn That's an awesome song
I own a Dodge Grand Caravan , i believe its longer? than this one here and has a 3.8 engine with power sliding doors and its all power
why does the engine make such a weird noise when you press the accelator
In Canada we don't get the 4 banger. Its either the 3.3, 3.8 or now the 4.0. I bet fuel economy sucks in this van since the engine has to work so hard. Wonder how it performs when loaded up with 7 people?
That’s what I thought. I had a 98 grand caravan many years ago with the 2.4 engine and surprisingly wasn’t bad for moving 6 people in it but the transmission failed after 2 years
It’s not manual everything, because it’s not a stick shift.
It is one of the most basic minivan out there
that is true but this was the same van i owed and dodge said it was MANUEL everything
true theres a new porsche 911 with a 7spd Manual
Great for camping
I'd rock this van... if the price was right.
yeah i dont follow porches, not into that kind of vehicle but read that somewheres. not overdoing it there but a 9 speed is overdoing it a bit..unless its a transport truck or something that needs lots of gears.like i said 6 is the ideal number for a personal use type vehicle if you ask me.3 isnt the best but will do, 4-5 will serve well too.some real old vehices came with 2 speeds.hard on them with just 2. some electric vehicles and such have single speeds.different thig w/electric though.peace.
In this Dodge engine 3.3 or 3.8?
2006 Town and country Touring?
imagine if chrysler still made these base vans with roll-up windows. would anyone still buy them?
If they sold em for like 10 to 15 grand they might would. They would do good in developing countries like liberia or Nigeria
No more in-depth tours anymore I assume and just only driving videos?
