- In this video I give a full tour and test drive of a 2004 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration as well as a in depth test drive A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I got a 02 3.5L Altima as my first car,
The engine on this thing is beastly
hey man, im 7 years late but im about to get the same 02 3.5L altima as my first car. did you have any major problems? also hows the acceleration?
@@dylangall8100 Honestly it was quite costly with the maintenance and repairs that had to be done but you might have more luck, would definitely get it looked at by a mechanic before buying
acceleration is nice and smooth thanks to the v6
@@StevenScarn94 8 years late just got one as my first car
@@CarlosValdez-nu4gn how is it?
Don't get me wrong I enjoy all your videos Kyle and I have for years now but I have to say these kind of test drives are my favorite! Wish you would do more like these in the future. I know you do test drives on new vehicles but I kinda like how these videos were on different year models and stuff. Anyway, keep up the great work Kyle!
I'm about to see this car tomorrow. It's all black 2003 with 100k miles. Excited to be honest I really like it.
Asad S I'm taking delivery of one myself tomorrow
these Altima's were a real success for Nissan. the only complaint here really is the interior it's pretty cheap. and is it me or did the engine almost go dead?
Sad to see how far Nissan has fallen.
It´s you
form109 dgkoir ygu
form109 It’s not just you. I saw that it almost died out at the beginning of the video, when Kyle revved the engine.
For a family sedan from 2004, the Altima had a pretty sick V6 engine
Watching your videos always make me wanna drive my 2003 Lasabre bro.
I Love This Guy NOHOMO He Makes You Want The Car He's IN!
I love how you say after introducing the car, " this is a new lot vehicle" before describing anything else about it.
I had this car 🚘 n metallic blue. Loved it, never had to many problems traded it in for a brand new maxima but still thought about this one: it was fun to drive.,
Speaking as the owner of a 3.5 is a pretty good rig. For some reason the last thousand miles have been problematic (161 thousand currently) so basic house cleaning such as an overdue tranny flush, brakes, tie rods, and some problems the radiator and TPS (which means you have to replace the entire throttle body).
Its a really solid car, but its getting up there and years and milage. I'd try find an Altima thats a bit newer if you have the resources but the 02 is still a good car
Just sold mine. Was a great car!!
I have one of these lol, 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE with a manual transmission. :)
Kyle, Did you know that once the car is unlocked, and you press and hold the unlock button on the remote the 2 front windows will roll down. Great vids keep up the good work, I have learned alot and look forward to many more great vids
The stock stereo systems on these were underrated
well this is definitly a very nice car :)
your videos are the best man !
pretty decent car for a nissan!
love ur test driving videos man!
5 stars as always! i mean thumbs up haha
my only complaint, and i dunno if this makes sense to you guys but i hate how on alot of japnese cars the dashes are so HUGE
Nice review up to this year! :)
i have a altima 3.5 2004 ..with 103k ...been a good car ..just replaced 3 sensors $600 ...then steering pump ..nothing mayor ..but now i just got 2010 maxima sv :)
2:21 Honda and Acura Lower Chime
2:20 I like that startup
Get the maxima or altima(v6). they both have the vq35de! one of the best v6's in the world. Nissan has been on the wards top ten for years with that! If i were you i would get the 03 maxima though. i think that was the best maxima model out there! otherwise the altima 3.5 is great! :)
2007 was the first year for the CVT.
This is very great because I am going to be taking a road test exam in a training vehicle in a 2004 Nissan Altima. I need to know where the windshield wipers button, the turn signals buttons, headlights buttons and defrost buttons are located at.
Chills. 6 years later he purchases a Dodge Viper.
10 years later he drove a kia
@@wwg.07 11 years later drives a 2001 Ford focus
at minimal throttle (but not at idle position) the transmission will shift very low (probably around 1250-1500 rpm depending on the car) and at full throttle it will shift at redline or where ever the optimum shift point (based on the powerband of the engine) may be at full throttle. everything else will be relative to this, for example at 50% throttle the transmission will shift roughly halfway between idle and redline. (this is a very rough explanation, lots of factors go into shift timing)
Sounds like it has a wheel bearing issue.
Befor Renault came into the picture, a Nissan with 160,000 miles was just getting started they would do 300,000+ miles easily with very little problems. It's sad that now a Nissan (Renault) with 160,000 miles is now "getting up in years and mileage". The 3.5 vq Altima has its share of post-Renault issues: oil consumption, motor mounts, timing chain tensioner, A/C failure, catalytic converters, sensors, It's a shame. Renault has and continues to lower Nissans reliability across the board.
TruAgape123 a lot of cars nowadays are like though. Even toyotas are losing edge a too. The toyota camrys 4 cylinder suffered oil comsumption issues. The accords did too i believe
20 years old next year speaking to you from 2023
We have a 05 Altima 3.5 SE. its pretty quick how much hp/tq do they have?
I know this seems like a stupid question, but how dod he get the car over 3k rpm? I thought that car was auto, did he have the tiptronic? My dad just brought an 05 model ( 3.5 SE ) so I am just wondering!
i like how first person view is you holding the camera hahaha
Hey kyle, i am planning on etiher purchasing a 2004 Acura TSX or a RSX type S, could you please conduct a review of one those two, i want to know what you think of them.
@TheAndrey Like 6.5 ish to 7 seconds.
Depending on what year altima you get and what transmission.
@MegaAudilover As long as you have a valid drivers license. If you're looking for a car and come off as genuinely interested in it they will allow you to test drive it.
sweet, so hows the other alimta doing with the blown motor?
yay number 1 again does this mean im ur most loyal fan?
FYI - I own an 2002 Altima and it has 300,000 miles - runs perfectly and only has a replaced engine due to a bad accident 100k miles ago haha
6:47 I like that song
@occckid123 in That Altima ? V6 or i-4 ?
the 2002-2006 Nissan Altima was assembled in
Smyrna, Tennessee, United States
Kanda, Fukuoka, Japan
TheCarArchives I grew up in Smyrna Ga.
how did you get a climate control in it? do you know how much it cost?
i got the 2013 3.5S this past saturday. i love it :D
That's the worst model year...junk
the transmission on the 2002-2006 Nissan Altima
Transmission
5-speed manual
6-speed manual SE-R
4-speed automatic
5-speed manumatic 3.5 SE & 3.5 SL only
Kyle is this a new lot vehicle?
does the side moldings fall off on this car because on my moms 2005 it happens a lot
Yes Nissan Altima
if i'm not mistaken, these came with manual shiftability (or sport) mode. either that or he was gunning it.
@jsnevels2
I'm sure your numbers are real world numbers. These numbers I am going to list are just from the magazines I've collected since 1985. *03' Altima 3.5 (5MT) 0-60 = 5.9, 1/4 Mile = 14.5 @ 98.3 *02' Altima 3.5 (4AT) 0-60 = 6.5, 1/4 Mile = 14.9 @ 93.6 *05' Altima 3.5 (5AT) 0-60 = 6.2, 1/4 Mile = 14.7 @ 94.9 *06' Altima SE-R (6MT) 0-60 = 5.8, 1/4 Mile = 14.4 @ 99.6 *Again, these are just from various magazines I have... It just gives a basic idea.
I have the same exact car but mines a 5 speed. Pretty quick for a family car!!
good video
How is the rod noise in the vehicle while driving at higher speeds (40mph+)
Very Nice Kyle
- Chad
***** can you test drive a 2006 chevy malibu
I like Nissan Altima
yay first again dose this mean im ur number 1 fan !!!! lol
The 3rd gen ran from 2002-2006 with a refresh in 2005 that focused largely on the interior and front end. Personally I prefer the 02-04 but I have an 02 so it might just be what I'm used to.
Price? Depends on the model and year and milage. To get this exact body style with the V6 I'd put you at anywhere from three to ten grand depending on condition, age, and milage.
A bit late but I'm about to buy a 04 V6 3.5 SE with 117k miles for 3500, is it a good price for this day and age?
@@Koinzell007 Probably? Hard for me to tell without looking at it.
If you do go through with it check the floorpans if you live in a rust prone area. Also make sure your valve cover gaskets aren't leaking oil.
I sold my Altima 'bout 2 years ago. But I've seen it on the road a few times and know it's over 200K.
do you guys have a website? because i cant find it
@IrishChris1979 Yup. For 165hp its quck almost faster than an Sonata 200hp but the se-r is faster than the accord 2.4 Ex.
I wish I had an Altima SE-R 6 Speed
Cab you do an Sentra SE-R Spec V?
what was that song on the radio from about 4:15-4:30?
What was the song playing from 6:49-7:10??? I can't for the life of me remember what it was called!!
@saabkyle04 you chould drive one of these with a 5 speed. so much fun for an altima!
@jsnevels2
Yeah, that sounds about right. It's not bad for a stock 4-banger with an automatic...It's a torquey little thing, it rarely needs to downshift for extra power, even going up hills, unless you get on it.
Can u please do a test for a 02-03 maxima with the 3.5 engine
That aftermarket grill is horrid
britton coil to
britton coil nbb
britton coil h
britton coil Which is why I don’t particularly like aftermarket grilles in general. 😅
what is the 0-60 time for Altima SE ?
@06Katana1 is the digital ac , heater control,
This is my first car.
plz do an review and test drive on the 2003 nissan maxima gle
@jsnevels2
It's cool, I didn't go through all of my mags. I have entire wall of them LOL. I just listed the stats from the mags I had in front of me. Either way, for a V6 family sedan, these cars are really quick anyway you look at it. Especially for the money. Thanks for the extra stats... I was wondering what the 02-06' altima 2.5s did in the 1/4. My G/F has an 03' Sentra SE-R (Auto) which is 300 LBS lighter w/the same motor and tranny. Now we can estimate what her car does in the 1/4.
Guys what do u think the 2002 altimas V6 3.5, se. 5 sod. Are problemetic as the 2.5. 4 cylinders
Great Nissan.
@TheAndrey dont get the 2.5 many recalls ...pre cat problems ...specially 02 03 ...
@IrishChris1979 Magazine ive collected since 1999 im not old so i have not been collecting. 2002 altima 2.5s (at) 0-60= 8.2 1/4 =16.4@86mph, 2003 altima 5sp same time you have. 2005 Altima 3.5se yes automatic have done 14.4 in the 1/4 mile also manuals that have done 14.2 if you wanna look it up not saying you are wrong .
hey saabkyle would you mind drive a 04 Chevrolet impala pretty please
Hey Kyle you should test drive the 06 Chevrolet malibu LS please
Are this reliable ?
@saabkyle04 you uploaded this video on my birthday
@billydudeiskewl :) thank you. Still learning :D
well this is definitly a very nice car :)
I love mine!
@IrishChris1979 quckest ive seen stock was 15.9@87mph But magazines say 16.1@86mph
hey saabkyle04 why don't you drive a 2004 Chevrolet Impala please
I know its the "proper" thing to do, but it frightens me to see someone driving with 2 hands on the steering wheel. It makes me feel like they are just learning how to drive or they are driving nervously
rch1jr yah same here I’ve seen my friends drive like that seat forward with 2 hands they look nervous when I drive I pull the seat pack drive with one hand laidback
Seriously I think so too
CVT didnt come till later. I believe its a 4 or 5 speed automatic.
which one should I buy 04 Maxima? 04 Camry? 03-04 Acord? 04 Altima? Which of these 4 beautiful models will last more over then 200.xxx miles with any major repairs? I
Michael Garcia maxima
Camry for sure
@jsnevels2 mine is a i-4. i think it was the 190hp accord. looked 2 b fully loaded with leather and the nice wheels. not sure on that though,,
I want this!!
Tell your dad to find me an 05 Altima SE-R with a stick. Thats a sweet car.
@futballking88 car is made in Tennessee. Mine is a manual and it gets to 100 mph in about 10 or 11 seconds so it might be a little fast for a kids first car.
Can I get this generation Altima for 4k ?
Spillow u can now
fire killer I'm getting one for $500 USD TOMORROW LMAO
I almost got a 2006 Altima for 200 bucks last year
Anybody know what song was on the radio from about 4:15-4:30?
can you do a test drive of a 2007 nissan altima 2.5 sl
@Jharp82 It will probally do 130-135mph but if its a manual 146mph (limiter)
@rev2987
Thank you soooo much!! :D
