- Опубліковано 23 бер 2010
- In this video I give a short tour and test drive of a 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX 2.7. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I show the car idling as well as take it on a thorough test drive through the city and highway on various surfaces. A thorough drive of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Remembering the times when I used to watch these (exact) videos is so good...
Same here man, it really was a different era of his channel
Typical Auto Guy absolutely, and so great!
Anthony José Makes me kind of wish UA-cam as a whole was still like this if you know what I mean.
Even though these cars were not very well accepted by the automotive review community, I really like the Sebring. Great looking car.
Samuel Matthews i
Samuel Matthews yaa. My uncle had one.
Samuel Matthews t
Samuel Matthews I personally have always had a soft spot for Chrysler cars from that time period because they are so comfortable and very good looking compared to their competitors back in the day
Sleek and elegant. The 2001-2003 Sebrings like this were the best ones
I used to love these cars when I was younger and now that I am older I still DO!
From the outside, it looks like a typical car from that time, but when you get into, it's plush, comfortable, luxurious, and beautiful. My family and I had one for awhile. It had black leather seats, wood grain, and just very nice. It's a shame there was an expensive repair, or else we would've held on to it. It was nice.
I do not care what anyone says; I like this car.
i just bought -05 sebring with 2.4 engine and only 109k kilometers driven. properly maintained. its very good looking car and very comfortable to drive. i paid only 4500 euros for it.
hows it now? thinking of buying a 02'.
@@TehPajamaz did you?
Ive had 2005 2.4l 4 sylinder sebring for 6 months now and absolutely love it. Everything works perfectly. It had only 100k km when i bought it and i paid 4500€ for it. Great cars :)
Im Rot I have a 2006 model and like mine too. It had 145000 km when I got it, now 20000 km more. I had to change the alternator and the battery (normal wear) but it’s been a nice reliable car and still looks good. It’s spacious too, for four. There’s only one of me though. :/
I dont know why people hate this car
Because of the 2.7 engines but I still like it.
+SRBIN GAMER 2003 why because they are a bitch to work on trust me on that..let me know when you do some auto repair on it.
Because it's a lemon.
@@AntonDasBomb My parents had one of these cars. It was a mother fucking bitch to work on.
Regardless of the cheap effort-less look of the interiors of these cars (although this one has a nice colour), I really like these cars alot! There are tons of these on the roads where I am to and the ride is really smooth and quiet, great car for cruising around in or going on a road trip while saving gas. These cars are actually very fuel-efficient, when me and my family went to Toronto on vacation, a Sebring was our rental car and we drove all over the place and only burned one tank of gas!
I just love the gauges on the Sebrings. The black looks so much cooler than the white gauges.
It looked like Kyle broke his ankle at 1:53 LMAO!!
DaOldSchoolRapLova96 lmao
Steve Smith Sr after all this time I'm still dieing laughing. Awkward foot movement fr lmao
His shoe came off, look closely
Love the Norfolk Southern train at the 3:56 mark. In Reidsville that's a pretty common occurrence throughout a day. I enjoyed the test drive as well!
Your comment hits differently today!
Aunts got a 01 stratus with the 2.7. Sounds exactly like the Sebring
Same car
I have a 02 2.7 also and its on my 6th year still driving very smooth! almost 200000 km
You just keep doing what you're doing, no complaints from me
I love the Chrysler Voyager and the Sebring LX! Thanks for uploading! :))
People often complain about the 2.7 L engine having the problem of oil sludge resulting in engine failure, I think that’s 100% the owner’s fault because they didn’t change the oil often enough. That’s what causes oil sludge.
I love trains. I hope they never disappear from our landscape.
My uncle use to have a Sebring. It was a great car! But not for the highway Even though it broke down, it was the first car my uncle bought. Good old times with the 2001 sebring. I used to call it a pizza wing car because of the logo. LOL 😂
MajoR ReviewS yeah that’s true, the logo from a distance looks like a pizza with wings. Lol
Typical Auto Guy I was wondering what you were talking about but yeah, one might see it as that. It’s supposed to resemble a wax stamp, though? The new logo is different because Chrysler is not trying to be a luxury auto maker anymore. I still like my 2006 Sebring, it’s been a good friend to me. It’s also been rust proofed twice and had yearly maintenances by the authorized dealer. There’s no rust anywhere and that’s pretty good because we are in Finland with all the 4 seasons and extreme conditions.
"Got my tri-pod setup in the rear" haha awesome!!
Great video! I was waiting for the engine to blow up as you were test driving it. lol
I have a 2002 LXI which has the leather seats, and I love it!
You know there redoing the sebring for 2011, and its going to be heavily based on the 200c concept car. And the interior is going to have lexus quality style, better driving dnamics, ride, you name it. I'm really excited to see what its going to be like! I hope its going to be alot better then the current one.
i cant wait to get mine on tuesday
did u get it ?
@TheNostalgiaSpot you've nailed it bang on.... oil pressure switches go bad to... but those are $20 bucks and dont really affect the way the motor runs. it just triggers low oil pressure light.
That thing sounds like a monster for what it looks like
we need more comments like this on kyles videos!
I think they look nice too.
@b00giemanXxX , thats normal, and its the microphones fault. i own an 02 and it has the same sound. not a problem
C5 is a nice car i've driven one but it was only manual, but i think sebring isn't bad either
30 seconds to mars playing on the radio
ive got an 02 with the black/grey interior. kinda wish it had the creme one. i looks nice!
@McVaio No I don't think our rental had that. This was in 2003, so we had a 2003 Sebring. I can barely remember it, being so long ago, but I do remember it having a black cloth interior and the 2.7L V-6 with an automatic.
I love how ridiculously slow the tachometer is on a lot of these older Chryslers.
@g20s10silveradoman Totally agree, I love the way my Sebring drives.
your car's engine sounds in great working order
I just traded in a 2002 Sebring lxi for the new Optima, loved the sebring and never had anything go wrong with it but when it comes to the interior, it was FAR from high quality. My dash did nothing but squeak, buzz, shake, and had three big cracks in the dash. The 300M had a decent interior but the sebrings was terribly cheap.
the engine on the 2001-2006 2001-2005 (Coupe) Chrysler Sebring/
Chrysler Cirrus (in Mexico)
Engine
2.4 L EDZ I4
2.7 L EER V6
3.0L V6
My mother had a 2002 Chrysler Sebring. Exactly the same except the inside was grey and otuside was maroon.
hey i just recieved one as a gift/ people hate to work on them. it wouldnt turn over. took off the first (front) valve cover it had some sort of metal shaving i picked out with my hand. could it be the tensioner, my cousin says its the cam gear. only 65,000 miles so i wont have to worry about the water pump, but i will replace it now. i can clean the pvc. or get a new one. oil is A1, do you think i can save it with your 3 steps
iknow you are bussy but when are you going to upload some new test drives ,? your videos are awsome ;)
I miss my Sebring
@saabkyle04
what was that wierd whining noise coming from the engine? Great review btw :)
Looks like my ride but way new and improved LOL
chrysler is a great car !!!
seems intersting
Yes I do.
The interior looks mixed with a Ford T-bird steering wheel, Ford Freestar air vents, Chrysler gauges and door panels.
Хороший автомобиль
I see you are doing another JR body, I'm starting to wonder if there are any JA Bodys left in NC!
@RYJ1990 you are 120% Correct! these 2.7s fail at around 80,000 Miles, so these engines are essentially ticking time bombs!
The engine sounds better on this than the dark blue Caravan's 2.4L. I always did like the exhaust note of the Sebring and I have no idea why
the 2001-2007 Chrysler Sebring was assembled in
Sterling Heights, Michigan, United States
All you guys bitching about the 2.7 engine need to stfu. I'm 16 and I got a 2002 Chrysler Sebring LXi with black leather seats, chrome rims, and a woodgrain dash. I've had no problems with it and it has 154,000 miles. All you have to do is get the oiled changed when it needs to be and take car of the rest of the car. It's my first car and I'm glad I got it.
at 5:25 i heard a click when the transmission shifted....shift solenoid prehaps?
@saabkyle04 it was sold to AutoVAZ, and its now called the Volga Siber.
I like the sebrings when they converbis
This is Kane Bowser-Wieser's dream car.
the transmission on the 2001-2006 2001-2005 (Coupe) Chrysler Sebring/
Chrysler Cirrus (in Mexico)
Transmission
5-speed manual
4-speed 41TE automatic
Are family also owns a Dodge Stratus with a 2.7L V6 and we have had no problems whats so ever... now the steering. Not a bad engine
With 59,000 miles, this 2.7 is running on borrowed time
the 2001 Chrysler Sebring was assembled in

@RYJ1990 so is the 2.4 a better motor?
what is your job called? its pretty cool
i have one i have 97k miles on it and had to replace the water pump because of a cold winter freeze i hope it doesnt die on me like all these comments say im selling it this year
@FantomLightning that is a great engine when it is properly maintenanced, but like most people, getting an oil change is not thier top priority and dont understand how important it is.
Does anyone know the sound system it has in it, and the wattage? I have an 02' Sebring and I've always wondered lol !
does it have steering wheel audio controls?
there was a dodge stratus similar to this one at the dealership where i got my impala at.
2020
can you take a full deph tour with mitsubishi outlander?
This car was based on the Dodge Stratus and Mitsubishi Eclipse
my mom had an 02 sebring until about a year ago, 2016, and she bought a Ford Escape
im intrested in buying this and i know i hear the omg the engine sucks etc But honestly. i think you do need to maintain upkeep with any car. Thats why my dads vw passat is sitting in our driveway because he didnt think about maintaining it as much.
Alyssa Young Oil sludge resulting in engine failure is 100% the owner’s fault. If you maintain it well, you’ll never have that problem
BEST CAR EVER MADE I LOVE MNE
iam about to get a 07..but iam seeing alot of bad comments
+Michael Pritchett
This is one of the most unreliable vehicles that Chrysler has ever made... and it's also one of the hardest to work on known to car nuts trust me...
the 2.7 V6 is really proven to last only like 80-100,000 miles.. sludge problems ya know? Chrysler says they fixed it but people still have problems... gotta get the bulletproof 3.5 V6 if your getting a V6.. I have the 3.5 in my LHS... amazing engine.
I remember my Chrysler vision 1998 model 👍🏼
are the speakers good? nice and bassy?
Torre Clark jh
They must be by Infinity.
I think the problems with the 2.7 are overblown, as it will last as long as you know how to maintain it properly. The problems with the 2.7 start and end with the water pump, which needs to be replaced at no later than 80,000 miles. Replace the timing chain tensioner with the revised one put out by Chrysler, and replace the PCV every three years. Follow those three steps and you will have nothing to worry about.
@ElectroGhandi
30 Seconds to mars - Kings and queens
what car company is your least favorite?
Why the fuss do they put the battery between the bumper and the front left wheel that's so awkward.
@Jakeman21642, i have an 02 with the 2.7 and it is rock solid, the only issue ive had is the standard water pump issue. u have no clue bout engines sir. this motor is a rock, if you maintain it. just like everybody else says. cant stress that enough, take care of your motors!!
I want a 2001 Chrysler Sebring sedan 2.7 V6!!!!!
+501 Premium No ya don't, you won't find any 2.7 v6 motors around anymore because they all blew up!
Wrong my first car is a 2.7 L V6 Sebring with only 100000 miles on her to date Love it
too many hater comments, its so crazy!
These things reliable, no major problems?
01-03 are reliable as long as you opt for the 4-cyl. The 6-cyl engine had issues that were quite common. I own an 01 LX 2.4l 4-cyl. currently at 274k miles(and counting).
Does anybody know the song that's at 3:00 with the 'ahh ohhh ohh'?
how come whenever your about to put the car in reverse you change the camera view? lol
You do realize that Chrysler owns Dodge?
Yeah I already know
The Chrysler sebring lx sedan has always been a luxury car for the company
It needs a transmission flush. Listen to the whine.
3:55 TRAIN!!!!!
@NewYorkCityBoy123 Yah but it is still stylish.
@hshadow and saabkyle04:
Chrysler is now under control of Fiat, together are they going to develop new cars. Like the new Sebring, for example.
is a 6 cylinder good for a car?
Katherine Dunn not this one. Do some research on the Chrysler 2.7 v6. Rated one of the worst engines ever made due to the fact that if you didn't meticulously care for it and run synthetic oil, it sludged up inside and had to be replaced
@LarryDavidFreak i heard the 2.7L go bad is because people dont change the oil as frequently as they should, also the timing belt and WATER PUMP need changed frequently too, this is the major causes. chrysler does suck badly.
I was under the impression Chrysler wasn't producing any new models?
@RYJ1990 is actually a grat car , when working ... lol i destroit 2 of those engines
@Skate4Iife haha my 1st car too it has the same everything expect its 2001
@7477238 So true.
didn't even let the engine warm up.... what a putz
David White II Look at his channel to see what he drives now. Do you really think he gives a @#%& about a 2001 Sebring?
No unless you're revving the heck out of it ice cold.
