Great interview! I've loved this programme since I was a kid and it led me to follow a career in TV production myself.
So as RTD says there in the interview he doesn't count the spin off media or books; However what about the work he has done for Big Finish and allowing them to use or continue the stories of certain characters.
Is he now saying that no longer counts and isn't canon?
Big Finishes were never canon
And what an insane way of misinterpreting what he said. He is saying he does not remember all those.

@@LauraGS564 Even Moffat used to say there were 'too bloody many' Doctor Who novels a year in the 1990s and didn't want to read them all.

So RTD was given a large budget for a sc-fi show and spent that money on CGI talking babies and a drag act instead of 'fleets of spaceships'.
Wibbly- wobbly, timey-wimey, remember. Let's just say it counts where and when it needs to.
