What is your favorite part of this interview with Russell T. Davies?
I love his interest in what you've watched so far. He seems like a proper Doctor Who nerd who just HAS to know what you've seen. I admire his restraint in saying "what's your favourite episode?", "what did you like?". It's so clear that he loves the franchise and is so passionate about where it's headed.
The thing that comes across from every interview RTD does is his immense love for Doctor Who. I have no doubt other writers have loved it just as much, but he really always brings it forth, it always comes down to how much he cares for the show and how much he wants it to be as big for everyone else as it has been to him. What a gem and what an opportunity to chat with him like this!

I am so happy seeing so many people start Doctor Who! David Tennant was my first doctor but my all time favorite is Peter Capaldi. But, honestly all of them are incredible doctors!

And it's cool to hear people getting into the show recently and watching back through older episodes. I grew up on Ecclestone, Tennant and Smith, too young to remember anything before Series 3/4 but I can't stress enough how much I love this show.
It's got some weak duds, but when it hits the right spots it does it masterfully. Doctor Who is a mad ride and I'm glad to hear such positive thoughts on the original Russell run from someone who's only recently joined in. Love to hear it ❤❤

Great interview, but just so you know it's spelt "Russell T Davies" NOT "Russell T. Davies". There's no full stop after the T, and that was a deliberate choice made when the name was chosen. Again, that little mistake aside, I loved this video! Well done!

My first episode was John Pertwee’s The Time Monster. My first modern who was Tennant’s The End of Time. Two absolutely horrid places to start but I love the show so much!

What I usually do when getting my friends hooked on the show is doing a 'victory tour' of the RTD era so episodes like Blink, Midnight, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Human Nature/Family of Blood, Gridlock (excise some, add others), and then I'll have them watch Series 5 straight through to get them acquainted with the serialized format and arcs. By then they've long since been hooked ! I can't attest for this upcoming season as a jumping on point because, well, it simply hasn't aired! But I'm sure to expect great things this season. The reason I don't usually start people off with Series 1 (2005) is because it really is quite dated looking which matters more to outsiders than you'd hope. The storytelling was masterclass even then but its the surface level sore thumbs that matter unfortunately.

I don’t understand why you can’t face facts. The show is dead. They are struggling to reach over 3million. It’s so bad. The new doctor is nothing… I mean nothing like previous doctors. And the constant preaching We get it… RTD has turned doctor who into a flamboyant over emotional whine bag. With trans kids taking toxic medication and men horning into women’s sports… The world has had enough. Thankful many have stopped supporting such doctoring. I’m glad RTD has failed. I am glad you like something because we hate S14 here. Rogue had no payoff and I am not a newbie as since Pertwee I have watched religiously. This is not Doctor Who.

He’s destroyed his own legacy. Should let new people shape the image of doctor who. Was a fan of the previous doctor who stuff and still holds up today. This recent stuff has been indescribably bad.
