- Welcome back, Marvelous Gamers. Let’s talk about the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (or the Super Famicom as Japan called it) that made it to North America all the way back in ’91. Its Mode 7 graphics allowed for dynamic scaling and rotation effects, creating immersive gameplay experiences. It also introduced shoulder buttons on its controller, something we see in modern controller designs to date. While the Super Nintendo would go on to host a rich library of iconic titles, today, we’re diving deep into its archives with the goal of showing off some of its hidden gems that didn’t quite get the recognition they deserved. We advise you to dust off your controllers and retro consoles because, by the end of today’s video, you’re definitely going to want to fire up this bad boy and give a few of these titles a go!

THANK YOU. Finally someone who gives SNES Jurassic Park the callout it deserves. Honestly, the soundtrack ALONE is easily among the best on the system, and will stay with you for decades - it sure did for me, since 1993. The whole experience is CLOSER to the book in ways than the film ever was. I really love it - one of my top 5 all-timers.

As others have said, not sure how many of these were underrated, but Axelay is one fantastic game with great visuals and amazing music. Still one of my favourite shoot em ups of all time.

Sunset Riders' footage is from the arcade version. The SNES version was a 2 player co-op, not 4 players.
Nearly all Arcade ports in this list don't shown the actual SNES footage.

Robotrek was another underrated SNES game. Build your own robots, give them custom programs for special attacks, and build equipment and items you learn to make via books you find throughout the game. Grid-based RPG battle system with a fun story and fun characters.

OMG I LOVED METAL WARRIORS AS A KID!!! i could never remember the name of it. brother and i spent countless hours playing that game and vs mode was always heated. Plus destructible environments was so awesome for the time period!
You know, i never noticed it before but that golf type kirby game is laid out almost like ps1 and ps2 tactical rpgs. I wonder now, if they could've actually made a game like that for the SFC/SNES? Have a playing field like that, and use the 3d mode 7 effects like they did in Chrono Trigger to turn the screen around! Dude, that would've been amazing back then!
Finally a list with some true genuine gems.
Man the nost underrated SNES game by far is NINJA WARRIORS.
It's a side-scrolling beat 'em up and when you play with Ninja you have like 12 different attack moves! While in games like Streets of rage you have 3 attack moves!!
The graphics are phenomenal, the gameplay is phenomenal, the enemies are phenomenal!
It's just sooooo underrated!!
most underrated game on snes is SECRET OF EVERMORE, this game is a top rpg and never on people top game

Okay, but you're using a lot of footage that isn't from the SNES versions of the games, which isn't ideal.
the editing software that you use for voice--or your style of editing--makes you sound alarmingly like AI ;'] its the lack of space between comments that I really noticed it.
also the way the AI says king DEDEDE at 24:14 is a dead giveaway that this isn't a real person.
This video seems to show arcade gameplay instead of SNES on the arcade ports...

Why don't you show the actual SNES footage for most of the arcade ports? The only game where you show some of the actual SNES footage is Captain Commando.
Funny how art of fighting had zooming but samuari showdown on snes didn't.
Sam Sho had a lot more animation and flash than AoF, so Takara kept the sprites small in order to retain the entire cast, and animations were mostly kept intact, or as much as possible from the arcade game.
We called it a SNES.
Kids today refer to it as ESS-ENN-EE-ESS 😂
Got a SNES in 1991. Never, ever, did I hear anyone call it a SNES. It was always Super Nintendo or Super ENN-EE-ESS. Maybe its a regional thing.

Act raiser is definitely not an underrated or overlooked game at all. As a matter fact its usually ranked by most other youtubers as one of the best 16 bit rog games especially on super Nintendo
Pretty sure that Total Carnage footage is entirely from the arcade version. The SNES version doesn't look that good. 😆

Go go Ackman will be under rated because it wasn't released outside Japan. All that effort into commentary and non into gameplay footage of the actual format version you're talking about.
