How to Reshape a Sneaker Toebox / Asics Gel Saga Zebra under the Iron

- For today's video I have decided to give a little insight on how to reshape a sneaker toebox as some people have asked me how I reshape sneakers. So here it is, a step by step guide on how to get a sneaker toebox into your desired shape, what to look out for and what not to do.
I decided to do this on an Asics Gel Saga Zebra that I picked up a couple of days ago. The shape on the Saga is not bad per se but a little reshape will definitely push this into the right direction.
Definitely check out the result at the end of the video where I'll be showing an on feet as well!

Your choice in retro runners is spot on and never post an underwhelming sneaker. Nice shit keep it up
Thanks so much man! Actually I should have mentioned that this colorway is probably the one that has turned out the slimmest in silhouette. The toebox just has a great shape, maybe the black on it is leaving that impression. I'm really diggin this one :D
Dope video thank you for doing this and showing an updated proper reshape tutorial!
Thanks for checking it out and you're welcome!
Great video! I gotta try it man! I failed a few reshapes in the past I think this will help a lot haha
we have a saying: practice makes the master ;)
They’re so nice
Great sneaker, yes 😊
Cool! I've never done it but I've always wondered how reshaping the toe box is done.
Thanks for checking it out! Reshape on a suede pair is a little more tricky though because you can easily kill the nap
Sehr gutes Video!
@@HighlyAkicktive Super, danke dir :)
not easy to find someone with the same taste
.😂,everyone around me are all about aj and yeezy, they will never get the charm of retro shoes
anyway,I support you,bro👍
Thanks a million! Yes it's always great to find like-minded people, thanks a lot for your support, I really appreciate you! 🙏
Have to be honest would never put an iron near trainers - you obviously know what your doing - maybe experiment with and old pair - got a pair of asics - good video. 👍
Yes, I practised on old pairs that I wouldn't cry about when something goes wrong :D. Thanks for checking out the video!
Gutes Video! Glaubst du das klappt auf mit einem gel kayano 14?
Ich würde es lassen, zu viel Plastik. Und lieben Dank für das Lob 🙏
Hey brother! I just got some 990v5’s I want to reshape the toebox using YOUR method. Do you recommend that with the quality suede they use? Or should I just leave it alone?
Hey man, I'd leave them alone. The toebox has a pretty sturdy underlay which is probably gonna make it hard to reshape and I don't think the toebox looks really bad. That's subjective though but I think it looks fine the way it is
Highly Akicktive Very sturdy underlay, good point. I appreciate the quick response. I would’ve gone home and tore these up. First pair of 990’s. Another level of comfort. CHEERS
@@Alxgoez enjoy them! ☺️
Man, what do you think about Hi-tec Shadow RGS? Neon White/Orange colorway, in particular.
I think it's a great looking fashion sneaker. Especially the Fiery Red/White/Black is my thing. Personally I'm not crazy about those elevates midsoles but it fits the shoe's theme and is totally fine. Looks great on women's feet to I think. But wait for them to hit sales though, 190€ / USD is too much and I see them ALWAYS to go on sale
@@HighlyAkicktive Colorway you mentioned would definitely fit your style. Thanks for the answer!
Is it gonna retain it's newly reshaped form permanently or will it go back to its original shape after some time? I normally bend the shoes with a shoe tree to fix the "banana" shape but bending it is just not enough. Wanted to try this for years now but im too scared I might ruin my pair lol 😂
It will stay in place! Just be careful with suede as you can easily ruin it when you apply too much heat or heat for too much time. Try a pair you wouldn't miss 😉
@@HighlyAkicktive ok got it boss! Thanks for the tips!😁
@@johnpaulbriones4880 you're welcome anytime!
Very cool video but I have a question for you! What kind of flaw are you trying to fix? I am not sure how the toebox is supposed to look lol. Enlighten me!
It's not a flaw on this one per se but I like the toebox to be a little more slopy. There are sneakers though I wouldn't put my hand on such as most NBs and Diadora ;) Even though if you look at older NB it isn't a sin either
@@HighlyAkicktive very cool and interesting! I will try this on a few runners I have. Wish me luck 😂😂
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV try it on a shoe first that you're not gonna miss too much in case it goes wrong ;)
Hey Brother, Is it a bad idea to try this on a suede shoe?
You can do it but just very briefly, don't keep the iron too long on the suede. But I'd suggest to practice on something else first which won't shed tears if it goes wrong 😊
@@HighlyAkicktive would you suggest brushing in between?
@@KushNorrington no, just after the iron job
@@HighlyAkicktive thank you bro
Do you really gotta remove the laces?
I find that easier in order to stuff the cloth in there. You can try without removing them
@@HighlyAkicktive okay thanks
