Passionnant document introduit par un magnifique et clairvoyant texte de Cocteau. L'interprétation de la 9ème est tout aussi passionnante. Le travail d'articulation et de clarification des différents pupitres que fait Horenstein est remarquable et relève du plus grand art. Il est intéressant de noter à quel point dans le premier mouvement notre Orchestre National se "beethovenise" au fil des minutes grâce à la gestuellle structurante d'un chef dont on note l'extrême degré d'écoute qui est le sien pour l'orchestre qui joue devant lui. Le résultat est par moment stupéfiant et digne des orchestres austro-allemands avec en outre cette clarté française qui est notre génie propre.
Quelle arrogance française consternante ........ toujours la même .... mais arrêtez donc, et laissez la musique allemande à des interprètes allemands (ou juifs allemands), et faites Debussy, Ravel et Fauré. Tout le monde s'en portera mieux. Chacun chez soi, et je ne dis pas ça avec méchanceté, sachez-le.
Very powerful sforzando at 47:10 and afterward. Without picking this performance apart, I will say that it is excellent. Some of the more fastidious listeners may be dissuaded by the mediocre reproduction - I exhort you to transcend that problem. The adagio is particularly powerful - on a level with Furtwangler, Klemperer, Cluytens, Eisenzopf, and Schuricht. Hoomeyow!!
