That was probably the gutsiest play in Superbowl history.
nope... Philly Special
Jacob Melchior you two eagles fans don’t understand lol 😂
@@mikerusso703 Lmao. No
Let's see...an onside kick to start a second half in which the ramifications if failed would be bad field position or a mind blowing, fearless 4th down call that involved a multitude of players reacting with upmost precision in a game where 40 points at the minimum is most likely needed to defeat the games strongest ever dynasty with the NFL's greatest coach and greatest quarterback arguably......
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
@@mikerusso703 That one is way up there, of course, too.
Not only one of, if not the gutsiest call in SB history, but hands down that was the biggest and longest dog fight over a football I’ve ever witnessed.
My dad was there. His seat was right at the goal line where the pick 6 sealed it. As a life long saints fan, that must’ve been a great moment for him to see
Probably top 10 happiest moments of his life
joe buck would have said “oh wow saints kick onside, recovered by saints”
Tracy porter pick 6 needs to be on this list
I remember I sprained my ankle when I jumped off my couch that moment Tracy Porter picked off Peyton and when all the way. Always will be my favorite super bowl
?

Tears brother tears I knew then it was over
Brilliant call by Kevin James
He truly was the King of Queens
I just saw this for the first time during a rerun of the Super Bowl, man I wish I watched football back then
They mentioned it briefly here, but seriously. People forget but look back at that full superbowl footage. It took the refs coaches everyone on both sides getting a piece of that pile. FOREVER it seemed to take to get that pile removed, felt like something out of B grade cinema. It became very clear how much that game meant to both teams, and in some SB's you don't always feel that. I think it took what was overall a pretty alright game and put it into that conversation piece at a time when some of the best superbowls ever were being played.
“White ball, white ball, white ball, aye get off” 😂😂😂that’s all you heard
@@GordooRP
I think I heard in a different episode that Payton wanted it to go to the left because the pile would be in front of the saints bench and all the refs would hear would be
White ball white ball
Oh the narrative of this play. If it succeeds Payton is a legendary HC. If it fails, nothing but scorn is brought on New Orleans
I remember watching this play at my friends house in Lafayette and how the room erupted after the saints recovered the ball. A tornado couldn’t have bothered us at that moment.
Morstead was a rookie that year.
Still a Saint to this day. Morstead and Brees are the only guys still in the league from that team.
Big Chungus Malcolm Jenkins
@@bigdoinks69 pain
Well now 2 years after this comment he is retired
@@bigdoinks69 Malcolm Jenkins also but he retired this year
Absolute game changer colts were well on there way to victory if not for this call totally swung the momentum growing up a Peyton manning fan I would have loved to have seen him win it unfortunate he didnt
Dkplaysallday absolutely agree!! This still gives me chills watching this!!!!
He won 1 superbowl and 1 later after the superbowl vs saints. So it wasnt that bad. Not like Peyton never recovered after the loss.
@@bobeofoshoo Peyton Choked in the next 2 Super Bowls. Lucky for him, Von Miller was on his team and stuck something up Cam Newtons buttocks
He did beat the Chicago Bears, yes the Chicago Bears, in the Super Bowl in a downpour, if I remember correctly
Great halftime show followed by the gutsiest play in Super Bowl history. XLIV was great game.
Still gets me emotional dude 🥺 Who Dat! ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️
An all time superbowl moment. Will never be replicated after the new rule changes
Hank Baskett...the saints MVP!!!!
This is the first superbowl that I actually have memories of watching live and this kick sticks with me to this day.
As a Colts fan all I got is respect for Payton and the Saints to go for that on the biggest stage, on the other hand… DAMN YOU HANK BASKETT
😂
we’ll miss you morstead
WHO DAT BABY!!!!!! I was 11 years old watching this game on tv with my family. If Tracey porters interception isn't near the top off all time super bowl plays then something is very wrong with this list. Through thick or thin I'll always cheer for #WHODATNATION
WHO DAT
@@vrodi9958 WHO DAT
Dis year gonna be another
Who else here after the Reggie bush and Thomas interview 😂
I remember being 9 years old and I was at my neighbors Super Bowl party and everybody going crazy and I just say there saying “wait what just happened?”
We will miss you. Good luck wherever you end up (except, you know, when you’re playing the Saints). I hope they hang your jersey on the wall of the Dome someday.
Sean Payton would have gotten those Glengarry leads because the man has BRASS BALLS.
"Teenage Wasteland"? C'mon Sean...
He’s a football coach damnit not a music critic
@@inutero10 He should still know that the song is called Baba O'Riley.
lol .. he gets a pass
forgive him lol. he was focused on that play
As a lifelong almost 40 year old Saints fan; this play literally made my heart skip 30 seconds worth of beats!! Thank you God for this successful play!!
It was the gutsiest call in SB history…….for 12 years
"you set the record" LOL
We will never escape some reference to Parcells
If it's not successful Sean Payton is a failure but since it was successful he is a hero funny how life works.
And guess what it was successful and there is no Ifs it what ifs
"Those who don't take risks never drink champagne"🍾
I’m a Colts fan and remember saying at my SB party “watch these guys inside it”. Then Baskett dropped it and I was like, yup we losing this
“You set the record”
Imagine him at a blackjack table!
I hate my father wasn't alive to see his team go to the bowl, pull this off, and win. He would've loved that, I enjoyed it for him....lol WHO DAT!!!!
I know the same feeling man my Dad was a lifelong Chiefs fan and unfortunately he died several months before they reached and won superbowl 54 I know for sure he would have been shouting for joy. He was alive when they won Superbowl 4 but unfortunately he was too young to understand the game. I know the feeling.
Nebraska brought me here
In case you guys missed all of the visual aids, this is play #9.
Number 9? That's it? Top 3 or 5
Justin Harrison impressive, but bounty scandal nation did the play
Vikings had a bounty program too.
JDBPersonal oh my friend,my cards didn't face the Vikings....... why'd I care if they didn't affect my team
Because your Cards could've ended up as the second seed that year, but the Vikings were running their bounty program too. Maybe it would've played out differently if the Vikings were the 4 seed and the Cardinals the 2 seed.
We love Morstead
Where was Hartley? Morstead is their punter now lol. I coulda sworn Hartley was their kicker
Philip Tucker yeah Hartley was the kicker then. Wil Lutz is our kicker now.
Philip Tucker Hartley was the kicker but for some reason Morstead handled kickoffs that year (& it was his effen rookie year too!)
@2:07 ..is that tennis player Andy Roddick on Obama's right shoulder (your left side) ?? One of several "A-Rods" ?
"the best play in the super bowl" hell no tracy porter's interception was easily the biggest play.
Tander Tyrees helmet catch>
How is this only no.9
How the hell do I download this?
They should rename poydras Sean Payton blvd
I'm A Saints Fan .
It changed the entire momentum of the game. If Baskett gets on top of that ball, Peyton likely leads them down the field for an easy score
Hank Trashgett
I wear his jersey ....
Anyone else here after watching the Rams attempt an onside kick? I’m here because I wanted to see how it should be done. Gotta hand it to the Rams - at least they tried!
The new NFL kickoff rules have officially taken plays like this away. I hate it so much
Who’s here after Cowboys vs Falcons onside kick
The guy who recovered the kick is now a pastor in Youngsville for Our Saviors Church
It’s Baba O’Riley Sean
WD4L
guts
Why don’t more teams surprise onside kick
Like I feel like it’s worth a shot every once in a while
Baba O’Riley
Favre sabotaged the Vikings
It's Baba O'Riley not Teenage Wasteland
" Don't blow it ! " Monica Lewinsky should've applied this theory. 😴
I was still homeless from Katrina for this game.
I wanna know what sean payton set the record for lol
Biggest balls
#Saintsarefrauds
Whos here? after saints released him
Called it Teenage Wasteland
Hank basketcase
Enter Command > Onside Kick ... .... .. *rolls* natural 20.
The only Super Bowl where the MVP was the kicker.
The punter (!)
How is Elway's helicopter better than this?...It was a simple dive that any football player makes to get 1st down, he was retiring, he had nothing to lose, nothing special...
Damn huh? he never won a Super Bowl..he was 0-3... and he wasn't retiring nitwit
Hank Basket deserves all the blame . Hit a receiver right in the hands. He gives the ball away . Idiot.
Do other colts fans just automatically flip off the screen any time this game is mentioned or is that just me?
We were robbed that game and it started with this play!
We weren’t robbed. Mr. Kendra Wilkinson cost us that game. What a bum. He was cut like 10 mins after the game
Idk about robbed, yanked away maybe lol. It was 2 number 1 seeds goin' at it... I think both teams started out 13-0. Colts woulda won if this play hadn't worked
Lets also not forget that this season was the beginning of the Saints Bounty gate and just a couple years after the investigation Payton was suspended a year for his part. This SB victory will always carry an asterisk on the victory.
Nope
Yea. Mention the saints players coming off the sidelines and jumping in the pile. Colts got robbed.
I turned it off when the woman started talking…. Go away and leave football to the men.
I don't care what anybody says.....
Peyton Manning *THREW* this game for his home town. Notice, they ain't been jack $hit since.
are you dumb?
cowboys haven't been jack $hit since 1993
TXPRIDE817 you are such an idiot
How you a shit team if you make it all the way to the super bowl. That they've been bad because their defense has gotten worse and worse every year since
Y'all haven't been shit since the early 90's when y'all win a Superbowl in this century give me a call. By looks of it we will be waiting a long time
Ha, the guy who dropped the ball had an affair with a dude
Worst Super Bowl in recent memory
Hah! Not if you'd been in New Orleans...
football is scripted for sure.
How is this #9? This SB had one of the worst results ever, nothing from it should be remembered.
Why don’t more teams surprise onside kick
Like I feel like it’s worth a shot every once in a while
Looks like almost a sure thing we won’t see it again since there are talks the NFL might change the rules to where teams have announce their intent to onside kick to the officials beforehand. This kills the element of surprise. The 49ers this last Super Bowl probably blew the last great opportunity to try it with overtime.
How is Elway's helicopter better than this?...It was a simple dive that any football player makes to get 1st down, he was retiring, he had nothing to lose, nothing special...
