Been a Saints fan all my life. When porter took off with that pick six, we all lost it and ran outside to cheer with our neighbors. To make it better, it was on my birthday.

I was at my sister's house for this game. 3rd story apartment. Her husband (whose a Peyton Manning fan) went down stairs to the car and said he could hear us cheering lol. I remember this INT. I remember watching this game on a smaller tv and just getting right up to the tv and shouting "THAT'S GAME! THAT'S GAME! WE WON THE SUPER BOWL! WHO DAT! WHO DAT!" Man what a feeling. Your team whose struggled for so many years finally are champions! To beat Peyton Manning no less and to do it with an onside kick, and 2 point conversion, Brees carving up the colts in the second half. Then this INT. Man. I hope the Saints get this feeling at least once more before Brees retires. He deserves another super bowl.
I cannot believe this moment was 13 years ago already. The city of New Orleans was tore apart and just a few years later was brought back to life and together again. New Orleans will always be special to me, but the Saints are my favorite thing in the world. I will never forget watching Tracy take this ball to the house and secure the trophy for the Saints. That night was amazing, everyone was happy and no one cared about anything else but that night, I feel so old now lol. I cried happy tears that night for one of the first times in my life, people will never understand the passion we have for the Saints here in Louisiana. It’s more than football.

As a Saints fan who was at the first game, when John Gilliam ran back the opening kick off for a Touchdown in Tulane Stadium thinking the franchise future was so bright, this moment always brings tears to my eyes. The Butler INT and the James Harrison pick 6 were both more difficult and more important. What killed the Colts that game was the onside kick and their lack of ability to stop the Saints offense.

Anyone who says his just didn't watch him. Even in 2013 he played like his normal composed self, and his team was just completely incompetent. I'm not even that big of a fan of Peyton Manning, but the guy is retired now. There is no longer the need to be a salty rival. He is a legend, pure and simple and deserves respect.
He actually kinda sucked in that one. His overall best performance was actually against the Saints. Up until the Porter pick he was playing really well. It really does a fairly good job of summing up his career actually. He was having a great game. Seemed a step ahead for most of the night. But then when the game stayed tight into the 4th quarter because Brees was able to keep up with him, he tightened up and choked it away.
Archie Manning always wanted to throw a touchdown pass for the Saints in a Superbowl. His son finally did.
How this is only 3 will never make sense to me. This is the best and most important INT in history, you could argue we had the game won but not when Peyton Manning is on the field.

As a Saints fan my whole life, born in New Orleans 1984, this play was the biggest play of my life. It was unbelievable.
I was watching with my Dad, when Porter intercepted that pass u could've heard us yelling 3 counties away!
Guess I don't have much of a life, but that interception was one of my happiest moments of my life! Thank God the Saints won!
I love how it starts off with Manning, takes 2 and a half minutes to give the Saints any positive mention, and then goes right back to Peyton.

That's Peyton for you. Best regular season QB ever by a mile. However if you're in a tight spot. Like, if it's a big game and it's stayed close until late in the game, you probably want someone else. He was used to teams just laying down. To them getting all wide eyed and psyched out when he started saying Omaha. Teams that, as soon as they went down a score, would just roll over and die. But in the rare instances where he got in games where the opposition didn't do that he never knew how to react.

The big thing I told everyone going into this game was that the colts offense who never turns the ball over was going against the defense that had the most turnovers in the league that year, and that this game would be decided by a saints takeaway just like the NFC championship game...and I spent the whole night yelling I called it

This was one of the worst plays of Manning's career. He never should have thrown that ball.

He broke before I did. I didn’t help, I slipped a little bit. But he got there before I did. If I would have run the perfect route, I think he still would have got there before me.”
Tracy Porter: “We went to man-to-man coverage, and the formation that the Colts came out in is one that we had been studying the majority of the week. With the inverted split end, [Austin] Collie, we knew was going to motion down and they were going to run a stick route. The point guy, Reggie Wayne, was in the slot, and he was going to try to wide the part and out-leverage the corner and cut back across his face. Once I saw Collie motion in, I was like, ‘OK, here comes the stick route,’ and once I saw him try to wide the part, I just stepped inside and when he went to make the break to come back in I was already in front of him and I picked the ball off.” Manning, the great defense-dissector and "coach on the field", never saw Porter and LOST the Super Bowl with ONE ERRANT THROW. But somehow, the guy who actually threw the pass - and who ran the offense with the ability to make whatever adjustments he thought he needed to make at the line of scrimmage - is never blamed for calling the play (or allowing the play to remain the call) and making the throw. This is why people are known as "Manning apologists".

To be fair, there was a heavy blitz coming his way; including at least one free rusher. He had to get rid of it in a hurry. Throwing it to Wayne wasn't a bad idea. Porter had shut him down for the first three quarters, but Wayne was making plays in the fourth. So there wasn't much wrong with the play call; besides the fact they ran it before that game. Porter knew it was coming and jumped the route when Manning couldn't go thru his reads, from there it was just pure speed to the endzone and a victory for the team I grew up cheering for.

Manning didn't really do anything wrong on this one. It's just that Porter knew what was coming and jumped the pattern, just like Malcolm Butler did against Seattle. The real problem is that in both cases, the play shouldn't have been called in the first place. Porter had already been beaten on that exact pattern several times before, so he jumped it knowing he had nothing to lose.

As a Colts fan, having the chance to finally win a rewatchable and non-shitshow super bowl was so exciting to me and then to watch that pick burn everything that I was hoping for. A great play but it makes me feel sick watching it man.
Jeff Saturday recently said he still wants to throw up when he hears the words "The Saints."
One thing these talking heads keep saying is PM was trying to take his team down the field to "win the game". Not accurate. Saints were up by 7 at that point. He was trying to tie it up. And if he had tied it up Drew Brees and the Saints would've had the final possession to win it. But Porter's Pick 6 put the Saints up by 14. So that Int. wrapped it all up.
Yeah, the Saints likely would've won this game anyway. They had scored on every possession in the second half, for 18 points. The onside kick was a real killer. People would've recycled the same narratives anyway, but Manning did make it easy for them even though this was the first time he'd ever thrown an INT in a playoff comeback situation.

You know what the funny part is? During the Saints/Vikings NFC Champ. game of this most recent season, there is a hardcore block in the back on Cam Jordan on the last play that the BLIND refs didn't notice. If they had we would've went to the SB.
