I was only 6 when the saints got their Super Bowl win, born and raised Michigan, but damn do I love my saints just as much as my lions. First team I ever got into in my introduction to football. WhoDatNation!
Yeah I was 6 when we won the Superbowl as well. Turned 7 later that year. I don't think I watched the game. I know my family did, but I don't think I did. Man, if we end up winning the bowl in the dome this upcoming season, I think I might actually break down and cry. That'd be a dream come true. Also, sidenote, it's funny how much Vikings fans hate us because of bountygate. They just can't get over it lol.
Makes you remember how great Drew was in those playoff games, and then you also remember what happens at the end of them. Like all time horrible luck and defenses he had to deal with. Awesome video though, great memories… I’m not crying 😭
Yet people will act like Drew was terrible in the playoffs when it's the total opposite. He always kept the team in the game and in position to win and then the defense would choke last second
9:05 How this play doesn't get talked about as much as it should have is beyond me. That interception-strip-fumble is by far one of the coolest sequences I've ever seen played out. This has to be one of the rarest plays to have ever happened.
my fav game was when we shut out Brady and Bucs the look and bad temper of Tom Brady made up for all the saints lost games last season.. Cam Jordan was spot on Brady.. thnx for posting these games good job..
Drew is better than Tom, Super Bowls are a team accomplishment. He beat the records in less seasons, with worse receivers, a terrible defense majority of his career.
I'd argue that Steve's blocked punt was the exact moment the Saints became a powerhouse in the league. Something I never thought I'd see if my life, and I was still only 20 years old. lol
6:53 I still remember this as a kid I had a screen saver on my school computer if that TD and one he had at USC they’re identical it gives me chills thinking about it now
ive only been a Saints fan since the mid 90s, and i know there are many, many WHO DATS out there that have seen the bad times more than i have, but i have seen the lowest of the lowest and seen this team at the pinnacle of their sport...and today, with our future in flux (we dont have a HC, our QB of the future isnt on the team it looks like, and imo Mickey Loomis's time as the GM should be coming to a close) im glad i got to see my team win a Super Bowl. I dont know if we'll ever been as dominant as we were for over a decade with SP/DB (they never won less than 7 games...growing up i would just be happy to see them win a game period before that era), but i hope im alive to see them win another Super Bowl, every WHO DAT deserves to witness this team win a Super Bowl, i cheer for many teams, and the Saints are still the only pro team i cheer for that have ever won their respective pro title. Through thick and thin, Black and Gold for life.
I was at the game when Hakim dropped the ball. Most of the Saints fans did not begin to leave their seats for about 15 minutes after the game was over. First playoff victory! And my best friend got arrested on Bourbon Street later that night😕
Um, so, sorry to ask but what was the significance of the Archie Manning touchdown? And why would you have the River City Relay as the last clip given how heartbreaking the next play was? And I know you said you couldn't find any clips of the Dome Patrol but there are plenty of good plays put there including the Sam Mills onw where he stripped the ball from the Jets quarterback when he had his arm cocked back to pass and Mills returned it for a touchdown, the goal line stand against Pittsburgh in 1987 and any of Rickey Jackson's sacks. There are so many plays you could have put to at least include the most dominant linebacking corps ever!
its ridiculous on how so many people don't recognize Alvin Kamara as a Potential Hall Of Famer and an amazing RB, so many plays of his are the reasons the saints had a ridiculous prime and also how influential he was to the team, Drew brees really understood him but sadly Derek Carr doesnt
People don’t realize that the saints would’ve been unstoppable if Brees had a defense in his prime. His offense put up 50 points against the giants and they only won by a SINGLE point. That’s fucking ridiculous
Drew Brees was the true legend And MVP the Nickelodeon NFL highlights or whatever they picked favorite Drew Brees was the true MVP and the legend of all of the NFL football besides Joe Burrow Joe Burrow is the second Drew Brees is the first
I love the saints. 504 who dat nation forever. But I fear we may never get another qb of Brees caliber ever again especially since we haven’t had a first round QB or rookie qb in forever. We really need to invest in a GREAT free agent or draft one of the future *generational talents*
You have more Aaron Brooks than Archie Manning or Bobby Hebert. You might want to look into that. No Morten Anderson, no George Rogers, no Danny Abramowitz. Too skewed to modern times. And there was way too many Kamara "routine" plays.
I hate that I can watch a 2 year old video that I've never seen and it still be relevant since this organization hasn't done shit since then. Fire Dennis Allen right now.
Thanks for the memories! I had forgotten some of them. If you ever make an update the Dome Patrol era is filled with memorable moments. This is just one: ua-cam.com/video/VKLzRE06bCs/v-deo.html
OK but can we just all admit if Joe Burrow decides to go to the Saints move from the Bengals and go to the Saints he should have the number nine T-shirt because Drew Brees used to be the goat and he still is but Joe Burrell is the new goat of NFL football. Even Drew Brees would even agree to let Joe Burrow have never nine T-shirt if he went to the Saints

alot of bad calls on saints esp the playoff games
Yet people will act like Drew was terrible in the playoffs when it's the total opposite. He always kept the team in the game and in position to win and then the defense would choke last second
Yeah man our defense blew at least 4 playoff games for Drew that i can think of…no other qb ever had to deal with the BS drew did
But you forgot the legendary stands they gave to win them
I miss what this team used to be
Same
Need to update this with beating Tom Brady and blanking Tom Brady
Who?

@@jamesking229 what?

No use when Tom Brady beat him in 2020 Divisional playoffs.

I know right - this play reminds me of the Immaculate Reception, but even better.
The Meachem strip-return has to be my all time favorite play.
It was such a treat to have watched Drew Bree’s play for all those years it was something special… will prob never be seen again from the saints
#9 was special.
life long saints fan...but you have to show that missed xp after that amazing play!!!!
I was so mad when he missed it
It's the best part of the play I mean at that time that moment pretty much summed up being a Saints fan.
That punt block by Steve Gleason is the moment the Saints were no longer the "Aints". I'll never forget that feeling.
I have never seen that version of Dempsey's kick, thanks for that.
Great work putting this together! Nice to remember those great memories.

Drew Brees was awesome just at last before he retired he had issues with arm really sad i miss him -Hope 22-23 will be some good games for us,,
no one ever mentions Tony Galbreaths' 1 yd run against the Jets to avoid going 0-16 in 80'. dude had 40 yds that day!

I had AK41 on my my fantasy squad that game. Never seen a player score more points than that before and haven’t seen one score that many since.
I was at the game when Hakim dropped the ball. Most of the Saints fans did not begin to leave their seats for about 15 minutes after the game was over. First playoff victory! And my best friend got arrested on Bourbon Street later that night😕
When Joe Horn pulled out that phone we all laughed for years lmao. Loved that guy
this is very moving. Who Dat forever!
Like that the way Drew gives love to the O-Line. Smart QB
Drew Brees was one of the best quarterbacks to play the game and he broke alot of records. He's a hall of famer.
10:27 is what made the saints win the xilv superbowl
Wow! just WOW!

What upsets me about AK matching the single fame rush td record is that Sean Payton gave one of those rushing tds to taysom hill
it pissed me off when they gave taysom hill the ball at the 1 yard line instead of letting kamara break the record in that christmas game 😤
I was 4 rows from the field right in front of cooks when he scored that 99 yard TD. Great game, bad way to lose
its ridiculous on how so many people don't recognize Alvin Kamara as a Potential Hall Of Famer and an amazing RB, so many plays of his are the reasons the saints had a ridiculous prime and also how influential he was to the team, Drew brees really understood him but sadly Derek Carr doesnt
Yessir let's go
I can't believe they did not have the goal-line stands against Pittsburgh to secure their first winning season
That last one was a killer - missed FG. I remember that game…elation to suicidal in 40 seconds.
Kyle Turley helmet toss.
Great video, but not a single Deuce run?!?
no tracy porter pick 6 in superbowl or superbowl onside kick???? cmoon
I don’t ever wanna hear about Aaron Brooks not being a team guy. Laid out the final block for Pathon to get into the end zone against Jacksonville.
Everyone's Christmas present GO NOS.
Damn this hit different… Who dat
And following that last play we miss the extra point lol

Drew Brees is so cool 😎
I’ll never forgive Sean for giving Taysom that 7th TD.
