Excellent Video.... For doing this single handed... Both figuratively & Literally. I like the tips on saving a few steps. Not sure if I'll leave existing hardware or replace but nice to see it can be done & I like your logic for leaving it in place. All the best with your future endeavors.
@@ATLFAVORITEMECHANIC I just did them , about 2hrs ago a total pain in the ass. I didn’t know I had to twist the caliber pin back in , instead of just pushing it.
always change your hardware after you clean your caliper bracket. also grease the caliper bracket and the ears on the brake pads . you have black marks on your rotor from your hands the rotor should be cleaned with brake cleaner so it does not get on the brake pads. and also sometimes it is a good idea to open the bleeder valve befor pushing the piston back
Enjoyed the video. Is there a way to tell if your rotors are ready to be turned or replaced just by looking at them? How much of an indent should they have? My car has around 70k miles on it. This is the first time they brakes have been done.
The only problem I had was getting that little drum thingy back in so I could get everything back together. I ended up using one of the old brake pads and pliers to get it back in. Took just a couple of seconds doing it that way.
Nice, video, i am gonna replace mine cause the dealer wants to charge me 246 dollars to replace the front disc pads for a job that only takes maybe more than a half hour, and it's not the first time, i do it before
I will buy the piston for the piston for sure you should put an affiliate link in your description and get some change... I had to use a pair of pliers last time.
Awesome video but I thought the wear indicator is suppose to be facing the top not the bottom? I’m not sure that’s what the other video for this car said just wondering if that matters?
Good stuff man! Please make more videos. I made a video fixing a leak in my bmw and now its got over 100000 views. If you build they will come. Your got good knowledge speed it to the world man im in New york my gz! BING BONG!
so probably $75 in parts for the front brakes. A shop in CA or CO would charge $600 for less than an hour of labor im sure. But they would sell you on doing all four brakes and you'll spend over $1300
Thanks for the video! At 2:54 when you said, "a lot of times" then the video cut, your caliper waa stuck. Thats where I am it i can't seem to figure out how to get unstuck. Any tips?

Thanks Rusty Jessse. You want to turn rotors/replace whenever you change pads. My professional opinion

Hey you can use a flat head screwdriver and pry the caliper off the caliper bracket. Thanks for watching!

When you loosened the 14mm bolt which way did you turn the racket..? Did you pull up or push down?
Push down…left loose right tight 💪🏼
