Zombies in COD has one of the deepest storylines in video games
It does have a lot of deep story that is a tad bit overdone, but overall, it's amazing.

Nazi zombies actually do have a bit of real lore linked to them. Germany gave a drug to their soldiers that the soldiers gulped when they got shot or injured in any way. The drug numbed their senses, therefore they didn't feel pain and just beasted through stuff.

The Treyarch COD Zombies infection happens by people dying next to Element 115 (or Divinium as it's Elemental name). 115 is an energy that comes from the Aether dimension where a species of aliens named the Keepers took the dimension over, they made Agartha in there, evolved to adapt to 115, went to war with themselves, and the losing faction, who became the Apothicons, is now trying to break out to destroy the Universe.
When a life form interacts with Element 115, they become influenced by the alien race and become delusional as they tap into a glimpse into the Aether. 115 has regenerative properties, but only the pure form of 115 can fully bring someone back from the dead, body and mind. Unfortunately only one piece of 115 humanity found was pure and the rest of it only turns people into zombies when they die near it. The Zombies are controlled by the Aether and the Keepers and Apothicons in Agartha. When a Zombie dies, it comes back through the Aether stronger.
The Apothicons threw a pyramid device on the Moon for someone crazy enough to come into the Aether and control the Zombies until the Aether is powerful enough to let the Apothicons free, the person in the Aether tricked into thinking that they're gonna rule the world. That person is Dr. Edward Richtofen, a German scientist apart of Group 935, a once private German research organization that unfortunately ended up having to now work for Nazi Germany to gain funding for their research during WW2.
Group 935 was founded by Dr. Ludvig Maxis when he discovered a 115 meteor that crashed at the Tunguska River in Siberia (brought by the Apothicons as an attempt to lead humanity to the Moon Pyramid Device, the MPD) When they discovered Zombies could be made by 115, they kept research into trying to fully resurrect the dead, but when Nazi Germany got ahold of this information, they put it into wanting to make a backup army of controlled zombies so now they focused on trying to control the undead.
They also worked on teleporters and though this, Richtofen ended up on the Moon with the MPD. He touched it and started hearing voices of the Apothicons. He got a part of Group 935 to betray the Nazis and Maxis and built a research base on the Moon to attempt to crack the MPD, he tries to kill Maxis and his daughter Samantha, but Sam ends up in the powered MPD controlling the zombies and everywhere Richtofen goes she unleashes the zombies. Over World at War and Black Ops 1, you play as Richtofen and three captured soldiers from different countries he captured and brainwashed, and they get the items needed to make it back to the Moon and put Richtofen in control of the Aether. In the last map of BO1, he gains power of the Zombies and Maxis tries to blow up the earth, but that fails and the Zombie outbreak happens worldwide by Richtofen's hands. That's when this scenario would happen.

The brain part is related to Dawn of the Dead I think, when they lock down a zombie who explains they want brains because it is able to dull the extreme pain they feel from being undead.

I recommend you play Lycanthropic Evolution, and that you do it on casual/normal with the Catalytic switch gene - which is basically a requirement to, as you say, avoid "running out of gas."
The transmission is somewhat generic, but it more than makes up for it with the symptoms tree.

If you're curious where the whole "BRAINS!" thing came from, check out the film "The Return of the Living Dead" from 1985. For a small zombie film, it had a huge impact on the mythos.
The treyarch zombies has a lore and a back story. Of course you would need to complete the maps and Easter eggs to unlock cutscenes which would help you uncover the lore and backstory

Late reply, but the trope of zombies eating brains started in a John A Romero movie (Return of the Living Dead) where a zombie they capture reveals (yes they can talk in that movie) that the zombies eat brains because it dulls the pain the zombies feel due to being dead. And so the trope was born.
I like to think that the z com bases are just the maps in cod zombies, and zombies in the sane country as one is just the first round starting

I LOVE the freaking misspelled words. I laugh so hard everytime you pronounce them as they are written :p But yeah. It is easy enough to take what you write through word or perhaps, google translate? I know google translate is not ideal, but it could be funny :p I am danish and I once got an assignment which said for me to translate what I had written into english, and then back into danish. Let's just say it was NOT what I had written to begin with :p

it has alot of lore my friend the meteor lands and then richtofen takes it to germany and they hold super soldier project fails and the nazis get out and then richtofen assembles a team and there mission is to end the zombie outbreak its much more complex then how i have explained
I got an idea. What if Plague Inc made a "game" with a world map(like in Plague Inc.), but clicking on a country shows what diseases are prevalent in it? This could helps spread awareness about some diseases, and sprout more ideas for Plague Inc. custom scenarios.

Hey Pravus, there's a strategy game I wouldn't mind that you try out. It's called Rebuild 3. It's basically a zombie turn based game. It's kind of hard to describe, but definitely check it out

In regards to why the zombies feed on brains, the closest we’ve ever come to an official explanation is a quote from writer and director, Dan O’Bannon, who suggested that the undead felt the need to feed on the brains of the recently living because it somehow made them feel better by easing their pain. Avid fans of the zombie genre have tried to expand on this reasoning by asserting that zombies eat brains and guts because of the high levels of serotonin they contain, something that is kind of alluded to but by no means confirmed in the film’s official commentary where the production designer for the film, William Stout, notes that the idea of eating brains somehow alleviating the zombie’s pain . haha ctrl z ctrl v go brr
Nazi zombies in a nuthsell: richtofen pulls an oopsy and dooms the world and ends up being grouped up with a bunch of other idiots who are meant to be his enemies to save the world and then some really dumb thing happens involving universes and richtofen's oopsy didn't happen but it did happen, they then meet some really weird multi dimensional beings know as the shadow man and dr monty, then they do some things for doctor monty and in the process takes blood sample of other versions of them, and then fight shadow man, he dies and then akternste richtofdn & co become the people who defeat the apothicans, meanwhile a richtofen wakes up past him and dies, then some other stuff happens and a war starts AGAIN between the apothicans and the keepers, dr monty reveals hes a traitor apothican and that leads up to now (Bo3 and Bo4 zombies is confusing AF when it comes to story ) there are also some other people fighting the zombies BUT WHO CARES, THE ONLY ONES WHO HAD ANY EFFECT TO THE STORY THAT WASNT THE RICHTOFEN TEAMS WAS THE TRANSIT GANG AND THE SOE GANG
Nazi zombies does have a lore. The German scientists tried to use an unknown element from a meteor(Element 115) to create an immortal soldier, but it failed, causing the zombie outbreak, thus explained in the Zombies map, Origins.

The idea of zombies specifically needing brains started in the movie 'Return of the Living Dead' in the mid-80s. The premise was that being dead is very painful and eating live brains "makes the pain go awayyyy!" (quote from the movie). By the way, good for you about not giving people a free pass on spelling/grammar. It's quite annoying reading anything that looks like it was written by 'see Spot run' mentalities.
