I've never seen Freiburger without a hat on, and now I know why. He looks like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. "It puts the nitrous on the riser plate. It does this whenever it's told..."
If anyone is wondering, Freiburger host a show called Roadkill and Engine Masters on Motor Trend Channel. In one episode of Roadkill the F-Bomb was shown and bits of the show that had aired.
Everyone needs to calm down about about the 60 foots. It's a fresh ass build. Hasn't messed with converters or gearing, it's tuned down and runnin a few lbs low, fricken drag radials! Course he's gotta pedel it. Look at that top speed, 8.75 car. Hell he's only had like 15 passes in it
the f bomb camaro its one of the most badass camaros ever made its still by freiburger sounds very sick with 1500 horses and twin turbo v8 i wish a drag race about the fbomb camaro vs crushercamaro on roadkill
The car is Hooking up good, with that much horse power hooking up I was very surprised it didn't pull a wheelie, so the car is balance out very nicely too, I would use it as a daily driver and paint it cherry black
At first being a turbo car, the mph didn't seem to be there. I would think consistently a turbo car should easily pick up over 30mph on the back half. Last couple passes seeing close to 155mph it should be in the 8's. The 60' just isn't there.. Maybe try a higher stall?
converter doesnt mesh completely at launch ..its a progressive setup 1500hp dont always mean wheelie or 0-60 in 2.5 secs or lower..its heavy as hell too
The engine looked great after 130 dyno pulls, my question would be what oil are you using that would be a great testament for that brand, love that thing!
Tom you talked about having and using quality parts but you left out the #1 part of that engine......the guy that builds it. As a guy that has built many engines from supercharged to bone stock I can tell you that if the guy on the wrench isn't as good, or better than, the parts then it's all for not. Your craftmanship is obviously very, very top notch. You sir are a master of what you do and I compliment you on your talent. I respect that kind of talent, you must give credit where credit is due. Nice work sir, very nice work. We should all strive to reach your level.
Quite so! When they showed how clean the engine bay was it really struck me that that was the work of an artist, engineer, and true professional, quite a difference from even the nice clamp-together DIY kits!
a full slick transbrake on the 2 step so he'd actually leave with some rpm and he'd bust in the 8 that car has a lot potential to be real nasty setup right
i love the f-bomb and big respect for david frieberger, but this much hp and that size tire means a relative tame launch...violent launches are the best part of drag racing...
Will you forward your clip to Everett Adams at Adams Custom Engines in Sparks, NV with a note re the last minute or so of the clip as being the important part? Thanks
That car is just history ! I always bring up this guy he is the best engine builder .....Honestly i think in the world i don't think your gonna find anyone touching this guy. Not to mention he does everything RIGHT did i say RIGHT ?Ok! He is a perfectionist and if i ever have the money to build something crazy i'll be calling him! I built a 93 brand new mustang gt back in 94 with aluminum heads custom sheet metal intake cam s-trim race bearing cog system and it made 516 at the rear wheels back then that was fast! He is brilliant though!
First, very impressive as far as the engine wear is concerned. If you use top quality components, a competent engine builder and good tuner, you can make an engine live for a reasonable time even at high power levels. I was also impressed with how straight the car goes. It appears to be easy to drive. Now, my one criticism: Why does the car leave like a bar of soap? Was he leaving on the foot brake? Was there any boost in the motor before the 60' mark. Just my opinion but the 60' could easily come WAY down and put the car well into the 8's. Overall, great combination, great engine building and the bearing wear, or lack there of, is proof the tune is quality.
Like Your Engines That You Build You Make a Lot Of Power Wish i Had Some Cash Would Love To Have One Of Your Engines Very Big Numbers You Get On The Track
when i pull caps and they look like that I dont even set them on the bench i put em back a bit over hand tight one by one inspecting then tourqe them back mains then rods. nothin wrong with them bearings. scope the splug hole if u dont pull the heads look for spots in the cylinders and the valves, prolly find looks like you have a bit left for the motor. ams boost control i think would prolly put the car down in the 1.3 60s easy 8...check out marks notch on sloppy mechanics
2008!?!? The way Freiburger's hair looks, you would think this was filmed in 1988.... Bahahaha
no shit lol...shit caught me off guard big time
Back when he had hair
Did you guys see Dulcich's hair at 0:44 !? lmao
I've never seen Freiburger without a hat on, and now I know why. He looks like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.
"It puts the nitrous on the riser plate. It does this whenever it's told..."
ryte lol
lmmfao!!!
lol thanks just spit coffee all over my laptop
Lol
Lmao
0:45 Steve Dulcih? Thats cool
Check out his hair, lol.

David's lost a lot of weight since that video was taken.
The hardcore way to pick up a tenth
vr6swp lol
And hair lol
William Seroyer was literally about to say that, he looking good
2008 David looks kinda like Lars Ulrich...
Holy crap, Dave lost a lot of weight! Congrates David!
OMG, Roadkill combined with NRE. Too awesome!
wow, when you took the engine apart to inspect the bearings... WOW... that was very impressive to see how little wear it had...
Chris Craft if it had wear it would have blown up , engine oil is not that critical , oil pressure ,clearances and tune up is .
david actually looks better as homeless Dave than how he looked back then
Gay!!
He’s too skinny now looks weird or sick I really hope he’s ok
@@Does_it_come_in_black he’s in his 70s
If anyone is wondering, Freiburger host a show called Roadkill and Engine Masters on Motor Trend Channel. In one episode of Roadkill the F-Bomb was shown and bits of the show that had aired.
What episode of road kill
I don't remember.
+Gummby It makes a brief appearance in the Jeeprod episode
the crumpled up fender was from one of the many f bomb clones featured in the 30 second scene from fast and furious 4.
when i first saw this up in my subscriptions i thought it was the missing roadkill ive been looking for. still not disappointed
Love how deceptively slow and smooth the launches are on this car..
It gets the blood pumping just watching these! Mechanical genius at work...yeah buddy!
You guys build amazing motors. hands down the best IMO. I'm glad to see Freiburger F-Bomb still kicking some serious ass.
Turbo cars always leave so smooth and straight.
The way that thing launches is crazy
So glad to finally see that car perform the way it should
Lol bring back that haircut Dave.
I was like, how old is this video lol Sweet locks Dave!
TexasRedneck
You should have seen David when he still had his bright red, curly hair down past his shoulders.
Shepherd Ginzburg are there pics of it? might be worth a few laughs
who is that lovely lady walking around ? oh, that is Steve Dulcich
Jeez ! What a mule ! I Like the way that Turbo leaves the line, all except for that one pass where it unloaded on the launch
Jesus man ive pulled apart motors after 2 or 3 passes that have more wear than that!!! Absolutely awesome!!!
Mr. Nelson, you build badass engines that can take a beating and some. Awesome job on Larrys s10
Beautiful car! I'm a Ford guy, but I love that body style Camaro. Sweet ride!!
Everyone needs to calm down about about the 60 foots. It's a fresh ass build. Hasn't messed with converters or gearing, it's tuned down and runnin a few lbs low, fricken drag radials! Course he's gotta pedel it. Look at that top speed, 8.75 car. Hell he's only had like 15 passes in it
Yes, it was fresh in 2008. It´s not dialed in, but fresh ? I wouldn´t call it that.
The video is pretty old too.
I remember that all aluminum twin turbo you built for that Corvette on the show American Hot Rod.
the f bomb camaro its one of the most badass camaros ever made its still by freiburger sounds very sick with 1500 horses and twin turbo
v8 i wish a drag race about the fbomb camaro vs crushercamaro on roadkill
Impressive video and bottom end inspection Tom! Always love watching your videos.
Wauw, it's so fucking smooth. No dramatic take of or wobble. Awesome car!
The car is Hooking up good, with that much horse power hooking up I was very surprised it didn't pull a wheelie, so the car is balance out very nicely too, I would use it as a daily driver and paint it cherry black
Thing hooks up almost unreal
David and Tom are only liek my 2 favourite people ever.
The car is so powerful, it stands still and the Earth moves
At first being a turbo car, the mph didn't seem to be there. I would think consistently a turbo car should easily pick up over 30mph on the back half. Last couple passes seeing close to 155mph it should be in the 8's. The 60' just isn't there.. Maybe try a higher stall?
1:13 got the goose bumps that thing was quick
That thing leaves the line slower than a coke addict. I agree...the power is there. The time will be found in the 60'.
Agreed.
I'm totally stealing your metaphor
damn it does theres literally stock foxbody mustangs on drag radials that cut 1.7 60 foots hah
agree. needs a trans brake and a 2 step.
converter doesnt mesh completely at launch ..its a progressive setup 1500hp dont always mean wheelie or 0-60 in 2.5 secs or lower..its heavy as hell too
David was one heavy dude back in the day.....
Tom Nelson Is The Man!!!!
The engine looked great after 130 dyno pulls, my question would be what oil are you using that would be a great testament for that brand, love that thing!
Must have an F-Bomb Roadkill episode!!!
minus the chute in the back....that car is a sleeper. ...that's some super impressive power.
Music sounds like Seasick Steve is it?
F-Bomb is a amazing bit of engineering and such a cool looking car well done guys.
Insane, love it !!!
Look at those two young studs.
the best engine builder in the world ! I wish I could afford 1 of his engines .
Its a good thing David started to bald. He would have been stuck in the 60's till his death.
The Bomb at the beginning of the video says "here's to you Adolf" lmao
Roadkill and Hot Rod Garage brought me here
Tom you talked about having and using quality parts but you left out the #1 part of that engine......the guy that builds it. Such an awesome car.
Fist time seeing Dave without a hat.
please post more footage of this during present day!!!!
a full slick transbrake on the 2 step so he'd actually leave with some rpm and he'd bust in the 8 that car has a lot potential to be real nasty setup right
omg just rewatched this. that hair burger
1500 hp motor without altering the hood. Amazing
Great good for you Tom get to that birthday party
david had hair! LOL
David has lost quite a bit of weight in the last 6 years, good on him.
i love the f-bomb and big respect for david frieberger, but this much hp and that size tire means a relative tame launch...violent launches are the best part of drag racing...
Tom is top dog with NRE...everyone else is just the rest
WOW what a build, 1 of my favorite cars from the fast and furious franchise.... Where is this car now? kudos
Kevin Umebuani David still has it, it's one of his daily drivers.
Amazing!
what a beast!!
NRE! awesome
Is that Dulcich at 0:41 with a pony tail!? haha
hay guys! impressive work, i need one info if available, can you share the color code of the car ?
vintage David F and Steve D!!!
"wadup bii ittch" lol
I love the fbomb
Will you forward your clip to Everett Adams at Adams Custom Engines in Sparks, NV with a note re the last minute or so of the clip as being the important part? Thanks
I live in Woodland Hills, where exactly are you located? Seems like you were on Mason and Lassen?
It doesn't need to leave the line hard as u can see. I think it's his preference. I like it, people will sleep on it then bam, u walk em down.
What engine oil was being used in that engine you showed with the 130+ dyno pulls?
any updateds on this car
Think Dave has said that the car is a NSC more often than his own garage.
Mid to low 9s is Quick AF
freiburger looks like phillip seymour hoffman from boogie nights
Tom Nelson...uda man !
WHICH website do you address questions from?
Can we get a in the car vid going down the track? thanks Tom.
what oil do you run do put additives?
Needs big shark graphics like a fighter plane.
If I get into some more decent money I am going to NRE to my my own 4 digit HP engine car built!
Wow dude has lost alot of weight
That car is just history ! I always bring up this guy he is the best engine builder .....Honestly i think in the world i don't think your gonna find anyone touching this guy. What Brand and weight oil are you using?
Greg Rowe thought you would enjoy .
What engine oil is used in these beasts?
nilphuxgiven oil made from the tears of tree huggers everywhere
***** I actually lol'ed
+nilphuxgiven
Not tears any more, synthetic product based on "Hippie Extract".
get a trans brake and really launch that bad boy
Yup! he might get a full fricking second lol
he is trying not too break loose
Damn freiburger looks different with and and not on roadkill lol
f'n sweet! Sick man! how much for crate motor?
what's the song playing in the background?
Freiburger looks soooo different
you guys need to make the actual pull on the 8`s side, before that it is 9 sec car :) but nice progress finally
Nice work if you can get it right...
Like Your Engines That You Build You Make a Lot Of Power Wish i Had Some Cash Would Love To Have One Of Your Engines Very Big Numbers You Get On The Track
awsome
slicks on
man i wish my 68 charger had that many horses but ill just stick with my 952 horses
So where is the follow up?
Now, you see, what I quite don't get is why it was in Fast and Furious 4?
when i pull caps and they look like that I dont even set them on the bench i put em back a bit over hand tight one by one inspecting then tourqe them back mains then rods. nothin wrong with them bearings. scope the splug hole if u dont pull the heads look for spots in the cylinders and the valves, prolly find looks like you have a bit left for the motor. ams boost control i think would prolly put the car down in the 1.3 60s easy 8...check out marks notch on sloppy mechanics
