Finnegan's Garage...it starts out kind of simple and short, just Mike showing you little tips and tricks, then it eventually turns out a lot like Roadkill in content. 45-55 minute videos with vehicles that break down, zip tie repairs, and other sketchy goodness that eventually result in burnouts.
I love how in the beginning when Finnegan dropped that bolt all of you stopped smiling and was listening, hoping that it would hit the ground and not get stuck somewhere!! haha
@jbsjunk No shakedown. It had not run since '99, and we jammed to get it running in about a week with a fresh engine, trans, rearend, fuel system, oil system, and a few suspension parts. Drove it around the block three times at midnight, then hit the road for Las Vegas.
Love the look and feel of old school muscle cars. But, I'm also very glad for new school muscle car reliability & performance in my Redeye challenger.😎👍
one of my first issues of hot rod magazine i've encountered as a freshman in high school had the rumble bee which is this car. i remember reading about it and seeing pictures of them lowering the elephant into the beauty. brought back memories. thanks.
i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Aiden Camden thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Awesome video!!! Costs alot of money but hot rod road trippin' is the best!!! Last year, my wife and I drove from Troy, Montana to Minneapolis for the back to the 50's car show in her 1942 Ford business coupe. Had a blast!!! P.S. Love the Super Bee!!! The first car I ever drove was a '70 Super Bee when I was about five sitting on my older brothers lap. It was Plumb Crazy with a 318 and a 4 speed. It went bye bye when a tree fell across it one night. RIP.
What an amazing piece of machinery. OMG. I am a ford guy forever, with only one exception, well two, a 76 barracuda, and anything with the word 'bee' in it. Nice ride.
If you guys ever do read this you're the best of the best. I an thirteen years old and last summer I bought a 1981 Pontiac firebird trans am. The turbo trans am model. Rewind a little bit, in January my great uncle died. I hadn't ever met him before. My dad talked to him a week before his death about his 6.0 Ford truck. He had foot surgery and he had a heart attack from blood blockage at age 75. There was no warning so he still had a shop and a 200 foot long potato cellar full of tractors and 80's trucks and cars that are of no worth. We went to Idaho for a family reunion and we stayed at her house. At the time my dad was looking for a small tractor for your yard. We started looking around their property and we entered the pitch black potato cellar. I saw a huge case tractor and a bulldozer behind it. On the right side there were motors and transmissions and a bunch of treasures. There were RVs and trailers and 80's cars and trucks but nothing of my interest. I made a saying that says "you can't be a true farmer without one cool car", well I found that 1 cool car. behind a red early 90's Ford truck a grey Pontiac trans am say right there. I yelled to my dad, "it's a trans am." we came back inside and I told my great aunt, "if you ever go to sell it let me know". She said that other grand kids had expressed interest. She said that she'll ask them about it and tell me if I could be eligible to buy it. So I see it one more time for a month and that is all I can think about for a month. It was torture. I come home from school one day and my dad says "do you want to buy a trans am?" I yell yeah. He says I can buy it for $400 bucks. I tell him that it's sold. I do everything with in my power to get $400 we drive up and I see the car and boy you could tell that it hasn't seen daylight in a while. I look inside and see that the seats and the dash are in perfect condition. We go in to talk and I look at my title and look at the print date and it says 1992. It sat inside for 27 years. It has barley any surface rust and 99,232 miles on it. Still less than 100,000! We towed it home and I would look at people passing and each one would be looking at my car. We got it home and I cleaned it out and my dad and I just recently got the motor out. It will eventually have an ls2 in its place.
I LOVE THE WAY THE SUPER BEE LOOKS FROM THE BACK ,SHOWING THE DANA 60. IT JUST LOOKS MEAN AS HELL. IHAD 2 MOPARS WITH DANA 60,1968 GTX,1964 DODGE POLARA. THE DANA JUST LOOKS REAL MEAN. WHAT DO YOU THINK, MIKE ELCAMINO.
i know this is old but i have a b-body 496 Chevy with a Dana S-60 4:56 for going to work and stuff. you do know big Chevy's can put on Hemi head's also right? it's not a dodge thing only. take a wild guess who patterned also your auto tran's that you think is a dodge. no i never had a Elco or rancher but i like them also. i hope Michael can live with the fact and opinion if i can say i have a 69 4 speed Cuda with a d-60 in it. yeh i am also one of the non haters of the SuperBee styling that year. just for your entertainment , translate my last name from french. guess why i like Bee's? and if you are a freaky o.e. terrorist, i plan to paint it yellow and double strip it's rear to boot , but with only one circled S.Bee. maybe i will call it the WanaBee with the non O.E. but needed D or S-60,trans, engine kit or build. still wrestling with the, know where to get 2 A.M.X. 343 4 speed part's cars to make one right now. north american or Cuban style hot rodding works for me.
I extremely like the fact of your video!!! Have a great time when life isn't perfect! But having one of those dream jobs and being loved by the Hot Rod Bars and unknown friends shows your doing fine!!!
Michael caplinger same but you can get a free trial for the motor trend app and they have a couple more episodes and the ones not on youtube, and another version of roadkill with Steve Dulcich, and just about all car shows imaginable. It's a free trial give it a shot I just did and it was worth it, I'd pay the $5 a month if I didn't already finish all the episodes of roadkill and hot rod garage and the roadkill garage with Dulcich lol I still got like 3 days left on it too gnna finish it off and see if there's any other good shows and maybe I'll pay the $5 for a month
I dig this video! Well done and kept me watching to see the outcome...nice job guys. Would love to have you give my super bee a once over after it arrives!
I remember when this car was a feature in Car Craft some years back when Dave was there. It was a great read, And they did a lot of quality work on this car. Hope to see it again soon.
Hey HotRodMagazine, what's the artist and name of the song you use in the background at 6:16? I've heard it a whole bunch in the Roadkill eps too, makes me smile every time.
I was 10 years old in 1992. It was just sitting there at the gas station. It was a yellow 70 SB 440.... changed my life. This guy in the video needs the right hood.
The transmission set up for 10yrs bro, wow all the fluid was still in the bottom of the pan when you took off but man y'll got that bad boy hitting no doubt!!!
Nice car David, pity about the trans...can't wait to see the next bit...just amazes me that its been off the road so long.,..too nice for that! Cheers from Australia!
I know David, nice guy. Worked with him at Jacobs Electronics in L.A. back in '84. We used to dare each other to buy yet another round of "death burrito's" from up the street on a weekly basis. I had a 'Cosworth Twin-Cam Vega' back then - At one point I was interested in his 'Bee' and asked how much he'd sell it for. 3K was his price. For whatever reason I passed. Great to see you're doing well, David. Nice car - Nice job.
I love it! This is how hot rodin goes. I just changed springs in the front of my 73 TA twice tonite to no avail. Threw out my original set (front, like a dumbass) got a pair from PST and it sits like a strait axle car with one side exceptionaly high. changed sides and the oppost side raised higher than the other. I'll get it though and that's what everyone has to keep in mind. I had cam bearing issues, an old builder gave me advice but not an ans. then I tracked it dwn and won't forget. Remember
Okay, I have to fix the description. Here goes: Hot Rod Editor In Chief David Freiburger has owned this 1970 Dodge Super Bee since he was 15 years old. In 1995, it was restored in drag-race trim and loaded with a Dick Landy 484ci Hemi. Then it sat untouched until 2010, when Hot Rod decided to rework it as a street car. In this video, the guys thrash to get it on the road at the last minute for Mopars at the Strip, then drive the car from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and drag race it. Look for part 2, also here on UA-cam.
Yup, RK began with this adventures filmed on video. The very base of RK. or the starting point, is that rescue of that Buick Special from AZ to LA. After that, they decided to fund the whole program, and the rest is history.
When I was a kid there was this guy on our block that bought a Super Bee. It was bright orange & everyone loved. About two months after he bought it he wrapped it around a culvert with his fiance & three other good friends who we all knew. He & she were the only ones that lived. It was tragic. That will always be my Super Bee memory. It happened all the time back then with 17 year old kids driving way to much car. Be careful out there people.
Been following David frieburger since back n the day when he was doing carcraft he's the best
lol i just watch all the roadkill episode and got sad then i ran into this ... yay it continues
same
RepGaming when you watch all the episodes start over and watch them all again!

These classic muscle cars stand out among today's traffic, they are the among the coolest cars on the road.
TY for all you do, MIKE, DAVE and all the people behind the scenes.
Scary to think how many cool cars are sitting around for years without seeing the light of day. Nice video!
@jbsjunk No shakedown. It had not run since '99, and we jammed to get it running in about a week with a fresh engine, trans, rearend, fuel system, oil system, and a few suspension parts. Drove it around the block three times at midnight, then hit the road for Las Vegas.
Please never kill road kill, best car show ever! I am a car guy and get board fast with most so called car shows, you guys are the best!
Good to see a classic Mopar build - very refreshing. Go Dave!
I have a 1976 440 that I'm ready drop in a car when I can find one. Sweet, clean, and low mileage. Hell yeah man.
Love the look and feel of old school muscle cars.
But, I'm also very glad for new school muscle car reliability & performance in my Redeye challenger.😎👍
My 14th kid was made in the back seat of a 70 super bee!!!!
These older episodes were so much more relaxed and not so up tight trying to please everybody. Definitely more entertaining!
that mat black hood and hood scoop looks so badass.
Way cooler than anything Lamborghini or Ferrari or Bugatti or Mclaren has ever made.
one of my first issues of hot rod magazine i've encountered as a freshman in high school had the rumble bee which is this car. i remember reading about it and seeing pictures of them lowering the elephant into the beauty. brought back memories. thanks.
These videos are fun to watch. I don't even particularly like hotrods, but it's nice to see people doing what they like to do.
Watching your show really really get me fired up to finish my project. Keep up the awesome work guys best car show getting around...
Just like Roadkill! Thank you UA-cam for finally suggesting this video...

Beautiful Super Bee, looks like one hell of a fun road trip.
I remember this car driving around Glendale and Burbank back in the '80s. Good to see it back on the road again.

What an amazing piece of machinery. OMG. I am a ford guy forever, with only one exception, well two, a 76 barracuda, and anything with the word 'bee' in it.

Grew up in a 1970 Charger 383 Magnum. Black On Black !
This is my number 1 dream car but a plum crazy 440 six pack car
let's talk about the aluminum paste that some how collected on a magnet....
Must be some steel swarf mixed in.
My exact thoughts,, lol.
@@gollypo448 i must have some of that fried burger's Superbee trans alumaswarfteel sludge compound for hardened valve, grinding purposes.
When Freiburger looked at the camera after drilling the hood underside he looked scary as hell
Even though the 69 SuperBee is my favorite muscle car I think the 70 might be one of the most intimidating looking.
This is my dream car
I think every man on the planet including myself would have no problem getting paid to do what these lucky guys do.
Hey, it's the Roadkill pilot!
Lol that Wal Mart is literally walking distance from my house, recognized the AutoZone in the parking lot and the front of the Walmart hahahaha
thats a sick number plate
