Same BS as Miramar, Florida. They've had 4 1/2 years but still haven't said the two robbers were responsible for the deaths of the hostage and bystander. The ones responsible are still on the payroll.
Simple fix: 1. All cop cams be uploaded within 72 5:17 hours to a website publicly available. 2. Cops are always "off the clock" when the cam isn't rolling. 3. A covered or muted cam is a felony, without QI. 4. Until the accused has a copy of the bodycam video, there is no case. 5. If any of the above are violated, the case is automatically dismissed, but the victim can still sue the cop.
I've seen footage where body cams have fallen off of an officer's vest while on foot pursuit or in a scuffle. They need to be properly secured as well to prevent the camera "accidentally" falling off

Hi, I'm 74 and have lived in the greater Sacramento area since 1966. Starting out in Orangevale in the northeast part of Sacramento County with my parents. I bought a new home in Roseville in1992. When I was in my teens, anytime I drove to Roseville I would get pulled over, day or night. Looking back, I realize that my personal conversations with the very aggressive Roseville Police Department was harassment due to my age and type of car I drove. I never received a situation because I was never doing anything wrong. I made a choice to stay away from Rosevillle during those years. My personal experiences taught me through the decades that ALL Law Enforcement are a Brotherhood of THUGS with Badges. They get together at a Scene, Build Up their stories so the all match. The public never gets told the correct truth. It's always a modified version of the Officers who lie and then the MIDIA puts their twist on that story in order to achieve Higher TV Ratings. I have no rating so I can only tell you my opinions based on my experiences. NEVER ACCEPT WHAT LAW ENFORCEMENT TELLS YOU. Have a fantastic day.
I believe that a MAJORITY of law enforcement is like this, however I can vouch for a lot of good individuals who work in law enforcement. Hell, I've got a family member who had to sue her own department after being there for a decade because they were being discriminatory towards her in a very sickening way. She won and still works for them. But it goes to show that you can't trust anyone. There are tons of corrupt counties and cities out there. For whatever reason, justice is not the motive for most individuals working in law enforcement.
If you didn’t happen to notice SO ARE THE CRIMINALS! Always standing on the sidelines or accusing cops of bad behavior. Just like those airheads who have go-pros on they’re helmets recording themselves riding a motorcycle at over 100 mph (that you can actually see in the recording) then bitching about getting stopped by the cops, then getting arrested for obstructing, delaying, interfering with law enforcement THEN having his own video played back for him in court. Can you say dumb🫏! Just sayin.

Dude, they were NEVER heroes. The history of American police is as follows: In the south, the evolved out of slave patrols and in the north, out of strike breakers. They were even more corrupt at the beginning of the 20th century than they are, but only because there are cameras.... ...bottom line is there's no such thing as a "good cop", and here's why: EVERY SINGLE COP is guilty of either ignoring and thereby enabling or outright protecting another corrupt cop. Every station has at least one overtly bad cop, and it is extremely rare that any other cop reports or arrests that cop.....so even if they're. Ot participating directly in corruption or brutality, they're doing absolutely NOTHING about the corruption all around them....and can we really describe someone as "good" if they do nothing about the criminality right next to them?
While being a nice sentiment, we really aren't in control and their tired of dumbing down the reality of the situation! Like I think we are supposed to just shut up and do as we are told! Or you too can vacation at the local heartbreak hotel or like this cover-up points out, you can accidentally die! And it's never their fault!
Newsom should be sued for the entire body cam footage, it is his police force. Has Newsom ordered a complete review of the decisiion not to inform Roseville Police or why the park was not first evacuated or why the suspect was not arrested at his home? Does Governor Newsom care at all about the safety of Roseville residents? If Newsom will not produce the entire footage, then he clearly shows he does not follow the laws nor care for transparency, nor the residents of Roseville., that is good reason for Recall. Thanks to the news station for suing for the information, and for this important report.
Both Republicans and Democrats willfully ignore police corruption because they're both cowards who are terrified of being labeled "soft on crime"....and unfortunately, we have to many bootlickers in America who will blindly support the police no matter what they do

What's the point of bodycams if they can just release it as they like? Bodycam footage should be immediately available in it's full form to any freedom of information act inquiries.
what about the defense lawyer??? is he NOT entitled to un-cut video for discovery??? would that not screw up a prosecutors case by NOT giving up unedited video, in full???
So when people say defund the police … this would be one of those moments. No officer gets paid, no funding to the department until they follow the law . Then hold those accountable that tried to withhold this evidence. Normal citizens would go to jail for doing just the same. Rest in peace to that couple that lost their lives due to trigger happy police that executed take down very poorly
All police video should be live streamed and stored on a public server accessible to anyone who wishes to view it. The government should not be allowed to hide anything they do during the course of their duty.

A badge, a gun, qualified immunity, what could go wrong?
Qualified immunity might not attach in this case because the cops took grossly unnecessary risks and put dozens of innocent lives in danger for no apparent reason. They can't argue that they took reasonable measures to resolve the situation within the law and without bloodshed.

I think what they meant was they can't tell from which cop's gun the bullet that killed the innocent civilian was fired.

Same BS as Miramar, Florida. They've had 4 1/2 years but still haven't said the two robbers were responsible for the deaths of the hostage and bystander. The ones responsible are still on the payroll.
We have investigated ourselves and uncovered no wrongdoing.

Y’all annoying asf.
That is beyond sloppy. Gonna need to call my local rep about this.
Our law enforcement agency is a total failure they need to be held accountable for the laws they break should be charged double the fine and the time.
Yes! Sue them! We demand police transparency.

No. Police everywhere are NOT out of control. But the CHP has been out of control for decades.

@Douglas-iz4de regardless, Roseville PD doesn't get to make that call. The law is clear that the citizens have a right to know all the details. The police are meant to serve the public, not their own interests.
Courts will force the small city cops in Roseville to release the video. CHP, the highest paid cops in the state by law, acting exactly the way CHP typically acts. Roseville cops should stick to harassing teens and CHP should stick to giving out speeding tickets.

In the south, the evolved out of slave patrols and in the north, out of strike breakers.
So, according to that one gentleman, don't follow the the law, stand on principle?

Newsom should be sued for the entire body cam footage, it is his police force.
Has Newsom ordered a complete review of the decisiion not to inform Roseville Police or why the park was not first evacuated or why the suspect was not arrested at his home?
Does Governor Newsom care at all about the safety of Roseville residents?
If Newsom will not produce the entire footage, then he clearly shows he does not follow the laws nor care for transparency, nor the residents of Roseville., that is good reason for Recall.
