Just love all your knitting, the fo’s the wips and all the acquisitions. Such fun to hear you both laughing and keeping us so entertained. I watched Andrea from Fruity Knitting podcast just yesterday and she had a segment on Alan Dart with his amazing knitted animals and people, so Kelly you may need to do some of his little bears!! Will look forward to seeing how the spinning tweed comes out Noele. See you both live tomorrow, which is 11am in Sydney. 👍🏻🥰
Thanks Dawn, I checked out some of Alan Dart’s patterns, they are amazing, such attention to detail. I am looking forward to spinning the tweed, will let you k now how it goes.
Oh how lovely to find another Canadian knitting podcast! I enjoy numerous podcasts from other countries but some of the yarn they mention is not available here. I am viewing from Alberta.
Hi Alice. there are yarns from other countries that I have seen on podcasts and would love to try, but often times shipping and duty deters me. We are lucky that we have a wonderful selection of indie dyers and local yarn stores here in Canada that make amazing yarns available to us.
Oops! You did it again.... influencers... Holst Garn should offer you a kickback..... this weekend they launched their spring line... and now a cone and colours are on their way to me.
Hi there. It would be so appreciated if you could make ‘links’ to your projects and your ravelry accounts for ease in finding all your projects. Otherwise we viewers need to copy all the project names individually and open ravelry to find them. Something to consider. Thanks. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Susan, there is a link to show notes under each episode and all the projects are linked. Here is a link to this episodes notes www.knitsnpieces.ca/shownotes_ep36.pdf
My husband did a Northern Passage Trip to the Arctic, ending in Greenland - his gift to me on his return was several skeins of Qiviut. It is the most amazing yarn to knit with - super soft, but also super warm. You'll enjoy using it.
It's so great to see the friendly banter between you two 😊. If I were to smash my stash I'd need to knit a project every month, or I'd not know the difference! It's grown since end of last year by leaps and bounds. I have sweater plans that keep changing 😂 Thanks for recommending Unbraided. I've got a braid I'm not sure how to hand spin and I think I'll pick up a copy of this. 💜 🌺
Thanks Chrissy, my sweater plans also change continuously, there are always new patterns released that I want to knit 😂 I really enjoy spinning and I hope that Unbraided will help me plan how my finished yarn turns out.
Hi Ladies. Thanks for another great and inspirational podcast. I’m going to check out how to do the ladder back jacquard. And I thought I’d mention that Susan B Anthony was a woman who had a strong influence on the woman’s suffrage movement in the U. S. I’m sure many people say her name when they mean the other Susan B. 😆
I understand how you feel about picking up stitches. I have a sweater that is finished except for one sleeve. I don't mind knitting sleeves, but to start a sleeve with stitches on hold and picking up under the arm, I have to be in the right frame of mind and have good light (it is a dark charcoal fingering weight sweater), so I keep putting it off.
Kelly, the KAL we did for the Baubles was so fun! It’s one of my favorite and most worn piece ❤️ My baubles are flat too 🤗 it gave me the impulse to knit another since i found a better way to make them… it might be a cast on for your new Smash that stash KAL…

Well,,,that was a great way to spend an afternoon on a gray January day!!! Thanks so much ,,girls,,, You are both actually knitting 2 hats each ,,with UR mullselburgh!,,that's alot!!! Elaine🏡🏡🏡 Kroy socks almost done for January and excited for Feb!!!! Look forward to smash that stash!!!!
Thanks so much for joining us Elaine and we look forward to a day when we can knit with you in person! The Musselburgh is a lengthy knit but from what I’ve seen well worth the effort, it is such a great hat…and a perfect KnitChat project!
Thanks girls. Another fun, informative podcast. I'm on my 7th pair of socks for January. February is going to be my miniature clothing for dollhouse people month. Happy knitting.
Wow! What a great tip with the forethought/afterthought socks! Amazing and yet so simple!!! Love it! Noelle your test knit looks fabulous! Love the handspun yarn for the colorwork. Makes me want to knit another version with color changing yarn and on a lighter base color. Gorgeous!!! Thanks as always to you both! ❤️
Thanks Beth, I really like working the heel that way, I love being done the sock when I graft the toe. I am loving the Chalice Vine, looking forward to wearing it 💕
I can't tell you how happy I am to see a new episode pop up. I find you podcast relaxing, joyful and all of the good things. Wishing you a wonderful New Year with lots of new projects (from stash yarn of course!)
Great way to spend Sunday morning; thank you both! I won't be able to attend Tuesday knit night café for the time being (work schedule), but I will watch when I can!
On the finish of my Musselburgh. I am doing the same thing-weigh yarn at end of increase and knit til I have that much left. It DOES take forever. 🙂 I am using it as a stash buster-and tucking them away as gifts.
It does seem to take a long time Sheryl but it is a perfect mindless knit and one that I seemingly can still work on during KnitChat! And I really like the end results that I’ve seen too.
Hi Deborah! Thanks so much for watching. I’m planning to make the Waves of Change Cardigan by Denise Barron. Susan B has knit several and is my inspiration for the project.
I knit 5 Musselbourgh hats from Thanksgiving to Christmas...and one in Sept. Love them. Also did mine in DK or fingering double....love love love that hat. This those Estonia socks.
Hi gals! I’ve been watching your podcast and LIVE for awhile and decided I’m here for good! You crack me up and that is a good way to deal with covid hibernation. I live in central Iowa and have been knitting seriously for 1.5 years. I’m always excited to see your whips and acquisitions as I live through your purchases. I do not have much of a stash due to my novice level. I’m learning, while watching several different podcasts, that if you have built a stash, the next thing you do is to smash that stash! Love you gals and enjoy hearing about all your knits. Kelly: I have 4 granddaughters 3 and under. Feeling your pain with Miles so far away! Nicolle: I love the cork birdhouse your hubby built. So fun! You are a talented knitter.
Thanks so much for joining us Sarah. So glad you have taken up knitting, it’s such a rewarding craft. We all love yarn so much it’s hard to resist buying more, but we really need to knit the beautiful yarn that we have already acquired, or at least knit enough to keep the stash from growing larger 😂
Nope you start off with 200 stitches on the 1/2 and 1/2 triangle wrap..work your way down then work your way back up in numbers of stitches on the second half
It’s so great to watch a knitting podcast with lots of knitting content 😀 and I love the way you talk about your projects and the bloopers are so funny. They always leave me with a smile on my face. I also love the interaction between you and it’s so lovely to see such good friends. I’d like to invite you to think about your use of OCD though. OCD is a serious mental illness and is not the same as being particular or perfectionist or indeed just making an aesthetic choice, any of which might apply to wanting your stripes to match on your socks.
You are right, OCD is a serious mental health issue and we should not trivialize it by using the term inappropriately. We apologize for this and would like to thank you for bringing it to our attention. Thanks for watching 💕 , we’re so glad that you enjoy the podcast. Kelly and I love podcasting together and sharing with the community.
Noelle, I love your Estonian socks. How I would love to sit next to you and glean your knitting prowess! I can get so confused in new techniques and patterns. I love how you always stretch and figure it out. ❤ Kimmie
Hi Becky, the Supersoft will bloom and soften when it is blocked. It is not a merino, so it won’t ever feel that soft, but I find it quite wearable, even next to skin. I do love woolly wools though.

Sorry…not! Oh Julia, I didn’t even know there was a spring line…now who is influencing who???? 🤣
@@KnitsnPieces oh dear!!! And it was 20% off… might be still on, until midnight…
I checked it out Julia, but I resisted!!

Thanks Sandra, we’ll let you know when we’re knitting under the Bluewater Bridge again, maybe you’ll be able to join us sometime.

Picking up stitches is probably one of my least favourite parts of knitting, I’m always worried about picking them up evenly.
I love it when you butcher the norwegian names, Noelle. Just tell me if you want a crash course in Norwegian.
Ahh Aase, I would love to come to Norway for a visit and have you give me s crash course in Norwegian 😂
