- For the StuG IV, camouflage with plants is very suitable. The effect must have been more conspicuous thanks to the low vehicle height. This time, the tank crew also wear camouflage pattern combat uniforms, further enhancing the presence of the scene. Please enjoy slowly.

That's an awesome job. I made the exact same Tamiya model 47 years ago. I dry brushed weathering onto the model and created a diorama of a destroyed brick structure as it's concealment, although not nearly as skillfully as you. Afterall, I was only 13 at the time.
Tamiya has always been, hands down, the best modeling company in the business.

That looks absolutely phenomenal! I hate to nitpick, but I don't think a Panzer Lehr crewman would be wearing an SS camo jacket in the normal run of things. Amazing modelling skill though!
Is that so. However, according to the description and instructions of the manufacturer, Tamiya, the tank crew's uniform is like this. You can see it at the box art cut in the Part 1 video. Thanks for your comment.👍
They do have full camouflage uniforms and jackets
The box art doesn't show the Panzer Lehr decal though. It's a small point and the model is amazing. 👍

Looking at many very well done tank models, I notice that the rubber on the road wheels usually looks new. May show dirt/grime but rarely any damage. A weathered tank would almost certainly have some sort of damage, chips/cuts/chunks missing due to normal wear/tear/combat conditions. Would you happen to have any examples you could show?

Since 2008 to present, Ive been steadily/full time working on a 5x10 foot, or larger, MEGA-DIO of a German Wehrmacht/SS PanzerWerkStattCo's. Somewheres between Falaise & Argentan, Normandy, France. Late June/Early July, before the Falaise Kessel....
-All told, with resin figures, models, aftermarket items, buildings, tools, paint & an entire small library of reference books, Ive probably @ least $250K into it as of yet-(EEK!;)-...At last count Ive got around 650 figures, 1/2 of those being $pendy resin offerings & all types of German tanks & vehicles under all manner of repairs....;)
-All the buildings are wired for lights, many being scratch built...
-The scene revolves around a rural French gas station/junk yard/auto-repair/well tooled machine shop/metal forge...
-Small field hospital, troops & vehicles coming & going to the front, nachtrichten/signals detachment, Fries gantry cranes, heavy volumes of AA positions, large officer meetings, old Roman ruins, etc, etc,ect>>>>
-Its just gotten SO BIG! The problem with such a loooong running project, is that ones skill level progresses along @ pace-(Life long modeler too)-...So looking back upon my models just 1 to 2 years old, I see my own progression & oft times end up RE-building them?!...HA!...Uggggghh...;)
-Working on my 7th, or 8th? Tamiya Sd.Kfz 9 FAMO @ present moment!-(Im keeping 3 in the dio)- Its kitbashed to have a 3 ton Bilstein crane in the back-(AFV Club Bussing-Nag L4500 crane truck-tricky kit, but highly recommended!)-..REALLY looking forward to Trumpeters 1/35th FAMO offerings! Excelente!!! in the second 0:36 of the video you can see how the tracks have already built the natural shape of the fall on the wheels, What technique did you use to give the tracks a natural shape? it seems as if they are already rigid and perfectly curved.

You can see how in the video above. Bite the spacer, heat it with a hair dryer, and then cool it in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator at once to fix the shape. However, this method is dangerous and can fail. I can't recommend it highly enough.🍺🍺🍺

Hi I've got some ak interactive real colour lacquer paints would it be ok to use a acrylic primer before painting the top layer great looking stug by the way

Does the water ( for the chipping process) still work ,after you applied the gloss coating? Or you need to apply after the gloss , a second layer of hairspray, and the water for chipping and so on...
All layers should be sprayed with hairspray for every chipping and always clear coated after each chipping.🍰

Help. I’m confused. How is the chipping being achieved after the clear coat and without the application of yet more chipping medium? Or is the chipping medium being put on but it’s just not being shown? I’ve never gotten such good chipping from hairspray.

I just seen you spray it after the primer and before the 1st coat.
I use hairspray on each layer. Of course, each layer is coated with clear after work.😄

Hairspray is applied underneath all layers. And be sure to coat each layer with clear before proceeding to the next step. The plant uses Gypsophila Dried Flower Small (Green). It should be available on Amazon in each country.👍

This is the result of following the instructions in the painting instructions for this kit. In the video for Part 1 of this kit, you can see the box art of a soldier wearing a camouflage uniform.

缶スプレーでも出来ると思いますが、なるべく薄く吹きかける事を心がける必要があるでしょう。また最初に塗装面に鋭く尖ったもので小さく傷を付け、水が侵入する切っ掛けを作ってあげるとより剥がしやすくなるはずです。ヘアースプレーチッピングを剥がす時には筆に水を付けて剥がします。プラスチックと塗料の皮膜の間にあるヘアースプレーの層を水で溶かし、塗装面の塗料を剥がすといった原理です。🍎

I think you are commenting on hairspray chipping. I use water for chipping.

Stunning sucess , but how do you get track sag ?
The tracks in this video are slackened by putting spacers in between, heating them with a hair dryer, and then rapidly cooling them in a refrigerator. Part 1 of my video SU-85 details how to do it. But this method is very dangerous. It is also likely to fail. My recommendation is the wire hold method, which I also show in part 1 of my Panzer III video. It's safe and certain. I think this method is the best except when you can see the wire.🍺
How did bend the rubber tracks realistically? Somehow I always do it and they go back to normal
Heat it to the limit with a hair dryer, bend it, and quickly freeze it in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. And if you return to room temperature, the curve will be fixed. But if it gets too hot, the tracks will tear. Please be careful.👍

Sehr schick, wirklich, sieht super aus, aber irgendwie tarnt das Grünzeug herzlich wenig. Front ist defakto ungetarnt, und das StuG würde im Gefecht mit Front Richtung Feind zeigen. Die Seiten, also ja, die Kontor der Aufbauten verschwimmt schon bissl, wenn es natürlich wäre, dass es rechteckige Stahlplatten in der Natur gäbe, da wurden die Seitenschürzen mit abgetarnt. Fliegertarnung ist das seitlich auch nicht. Sprich was für eine Situation wird da dargestellt? Längeres Ausweichen, bei dem die ursprüngliche Tarnung schon großteils weggeflogen ist? Ja, das wäre möglich.
Aber Handwerklich, super gemacht!
Dies ist ein Plastikmodell. Wenn Sie Tarnung wie im Original verwenden, wird der Effekt von Farbe und Verwitterung ausgeblendet und Sie können ihn nicht sehen. Dann ist es als Plastikmodell langweilig. beachten Sie, dass.

If not over engineered at times, specifically WWII. But when the equipment was functioning properly, nothing else in the world came close. Look to Operation Paperclip for proof: Both the US, and USSR gobbled up every top scientist and engineer in Germany.

7.🔵Hairspray

15.Pasting decals
16. 🟩Finally, coat the entire surface with X-35

For acrylic paint, do you use Tamiya 81030 Acrylic Thinner or 87077 Lacquer Thinner? 😅
In the winter, I normally use Tamiya's acrylic solvent, and in the summer, I use Tamiya's lacquer solvent with retarder.🍺🍺🍺

ヘアスプレーでのコーティングですが、全部で何回されているのでしょうが。
使っている3色それぞれにヘアースプレーを吹き、またそれぞれをクリアーでコーティングしています。ですから3度ヘアースプレーを吹いています。
Each of the three colors used is sprayed with hairspray and each is coated with a clear coat. So I'm blowing hairspray three times.

Great model very good, however, why the drapping of a cloth over the mantel? You never see it in photos of the StuG IV in fact you never see it on panzers. Too over weathered for a tank with a self life of a year or less
The slightly stronger weathering and the addition of equipment modeling are the result of my personal hobby of enjoying tank models a lot.👍
