    Well done. The panel with just the primer is perfect. Adds to the look of a hasty repair in the field.

    Great video and I am impressed with the weathering techniques, these are the most realistic I’ve seen. Very similar to what happens to modern tanks even on field training exercises.

    For future reference the German didn’t paint their fire extinguishers red until the 1990s
    They either kept it the “hull red “ color of the primer of the panzer grey color

    • @stevepringle2295
      @stevepringle2295 3 роки тому

      They were painted all kinds of colors and red was one of colors used. Your entire statement is incorrect.

    Fantastico! In all my years of modeling it never even occurred to me to simply use "brute force" to damage side skirts and other parts. I was always stuck in the mindset of applying heat with a candle. One thought, the damaged schurzen hanger would be much more likely to break at the weld than in its middle section.

    Sergio, I just finished watching this again and noticed that the holes in the chasis for the motors were not covered up. All the old Tamiya kits are notorious for having those. I put tape on the bottom where the holes are and then fill them with Tamiya putty from inside. When its dry you can sand it and have a nice smooth chasis. I hope this will come in handy for you. Thank you again for sharing your fantastic videos.

    Nice work. The shurzen were made from 8mm steel and could not be easily bent, the force necessary to bend them would brake the brackets first.

    Excelente, muy bueno tu trabajo Serge me recuerda ese estilo PLAMO japones de ensamblaje básico y pintura, efectivos pero sin complicaciones. Una observacion; los extintores alemanes venían en 3 colores principales: negro, verde y arena. El negro se uso principalmente hasta 1942, luego empezaron a verse en los otros colores mencionados. Saludos.

    Late to the show. Currently have this very kit on my bench right now. This kit is a mess tbh and needs a decent amount of TLC to make it build really well. First thing I did with mine is fill in all the holes on the lower hull. First the bottom, then the sides using Milliput. I have a bunch of Tool and extinguisher spares from past Dragon kits I've done that I plan to use plus an extra Eduard's Pz IV Side Armor PE set as well. I've also used Tamiya's Primer G to replicate the steel cast texture on the Saukopf Mantlet, where Tamiya's cast is too smooth. I've had fun so far although theres alot of work in this old kit.

    El truco de los desconchones es controlar el tiempo de secado de la laca. Si lo aplicas por zonas trabajadas individualmente consigues controlar más el efecto de los desconchones.

    • @SergioSolo
      @SergioSolo  7 років тому

      Sí, eso pensaba yo, pero curiosamente tengo una pieza de prueba y luego de dos meses sigue desconchando la pintura cuando le aplico agua con un pincel. Tal vez depende en gran medida del producto que usemos. ¡Gracias por tu comentario!

    Is there a way to weather without an airbrush?

  • @Comissar80
    @Comissar80 7 років тому

    Una pregunta Sergio. En cuanto la técnica del desconchado con la laca, cuánto tiempo recomiendas dejar entre (1) la laca y la capa de acrílico, y (2) entre dicha capa de acrílico y poner agua para "activar" la laca y empezar a desconchar?

    • @SergioSolo
      @SergioSolo  7 років тому +2

      +Cristóbal Muñoz Hola, Cristóbal. Eso depende en gran medida del producto que uses. En mi caso puedo aplicar la pintura inmediatamente después de aplicar la laca. He probado hasta dos semanas después de pintado y puedo seguir activando la laca con agua.
      Te recomiendo hacer pruebas en alguna parte que no vayas a usar.

    Actually fire extinguisher on tanks is not red, maybe for the inside extinguisher is red but in the outside it not red for german tanks it usually painted same with the body color ua-cam.com/video/IvKlS_XTeAU/v-deo.html maybe this helps. I like your work keep it up man !

    • @SergioSolo
      @SergioSolo  7 років тому +1

      Hey Khalid! Yes, I saw that video before and I think he's right (every modeller should check it out), but he's talking about modellers who paint the body and then install the tools with their original color. I painted all tools and the fire extinguisher and then covered them with the same color as the body, but then I chipped the paint and that revealed the real color of things (black metal/wood for the tools and red for the fire extinguisher). Of course not all fire extinguishers of that time were red, but some of them were. I really appreciate your intention of helping me! Please don't hesitate the next time, because I guarantee you I'll make mistakes, but want to learn from them 🤓

    I hope you're not finished with the skirting. Because there's no way that any armor from any country ever went into battle with a big orange bulls eye on the side of their tanks for the enemy to scope in on and shoot at. But this is only video 2.
