wow the very first quilt i made in a class was the "Yellow Brick Road" i made it for my mother... she passed a few years back. That quilt was so special to her she slept under it every single night my sister told me. I have it now. I swear I can still smell my mom on it.. I know that her scent is long gone but the love is there... that is what quilts are, Memories.

This is exactly the kind of quilting story we love to hear. Quilts are definitely memories and what a wonderful memory you have.

“Yellow Brick Road” was the 1st quilt kit I bought about 12 years ago. As I was making it I discovered some of the fabric was missing, got it replaced. Then I decided to fussy cut the borders and ran out of that fabric. The shop I bought it from didn’t have any more of the fabric. Went to 3 other shops to find any which involved several miles of driving. I had bought my backing with the kit. Of course I had to purchase another fabric because I had changed the size of the quilt and couldn’t get more like I had. I did manage to get it finished and quilted in time to enter it in the guild’s quilt show that year. That didn’t discourage me. I’m still continuing to make quilts and enjoying it and taking part in a lot of Quiltin’Heaven cruises, zoom classes and Land Ahoy cruises. .Looking forward to many more years.

I wish you would teach how to do the backing of this quilt?? Especially for beginners. Thank you.

I must have clicked on the wrong video...more of a beginner "must have" tips than Yellow Brick road info (though do appreciate the white border info...did add that to my pattern). Love the quilt behind you!

I never made a quilt yet,but I'd like to make a king size yellow brick road so I'd need the pattern N enough material to make it.Could you tell me how much it would cost for all I'd need to make it from the fat quarters you used?

I hope you started quilting, if you didn’t then here is a generic response. It will really depend on where you get your fabric. If you get good 100% cotton quilting fabric you will end up with no sale on fabric (I live in TN) about $250(queen size, king closer to 350) in fabric. If you don’t have a long arm and need to take it to someone to quilt which will vary on price. I have a lady who is retired and just loves doing it and she charges me 60 for a king but if I go to a shop she charges me 150 for a king to quilt and bind. Which is why I am getting a long arm 😂. Now if you go to a big box place it can be much cheaper, buy fabric when it goes on sale, etc and you are looking at around 100 for a king size maybe cheaper. I definitely didn’t go into quilting to save money 😂

Unfortunately we can't share the complete instructions in the video because of copyright reasons. But you can call our customer service team and they'll be happy to help in any way they can!

This is not a tutorial; you won't find any useful information about making this quilt, other than where to source all the supplies.

So 10 mins of things you should by and 3 mins of a “tutorial” where she doesn’t really show anything. Worst “TUTORIAL” I have watched so far.
