My comment on the conclusion part.. I've taken my 1974 bullet 350 to Ladakh, 13 times in 13 years. During those times when tarmac was a distant dream there. Done off roading, went through watercrossings. Came back home. And just basic servicing and bike wash.. thats it really.. extremely tough to believe. Forget about people reading my comment.. it's tough for me also to believe. I'm confident as a rider that without a single issue I'll take Super Meteor 650 to Ladakh (which is 90% tarmac area now) and Spiti.

Kudos for a very authentic and honest review as always. You also tried to answer a very important question,, SM-650 or Int-650. I like the Int-650 for its honest, no-nonsense vibes and timeless classic design. But, negative stories regarding its handle bar, seat/seating comfort issues and average suspension have stopped me so far from buying one. Lack of tubeless tyres is another issue. I own the Super Meteor 650, you are the only one who has accounted for the minor vibrations on the handlebar compared to the Int650. This minor buzz takes the feel of top end performance away as i don’t feel like pushing it beyond 100kmph. This makes me wonder if i would have better off with the 350cc engine as they are fine with cruising at same speed. The engine character has been a let down for me coming from a continental GT.
I think that on the gearbox and gear change it will improve over the first 1500 miles and I'd say if after running in period you changed to fully synthetic oil this will improve the engine and gearbox performance.
How good is the LED headlight? As this is the first time, RE has gone full LED setup! Will it be possible for meteor owners to use the headlight from 650!
We will test the headlight performance when we get the motorcycle for a proper road test review. Also, it could be easier to swap the LED headlamp on other RE bikes, but we’ll have to check the connectors.
V+S. Thanks for the detailed, realistic, practical, every day-feel review. I'm seriously thinking of buying the Super Meteor or the Interceptor & this review cleared out a few things.
Have come across three videos of people complaining of lower back pain or discomfort over a 200 km ride. The sitting position or the foot position probably transfers the bad Road shocks Direct to the waist area. In a 350 bullet the foot position makes the kegs absorb some of the bad Road shock. Someone please keep this in mind. I don't think it is for India.
Of course nicely given the options about RE Meteor 650 n GT interceter, here is my question, if we opt this variant with paniar, it will be difficult to the pillan?
Great review. I sold my Interceptor 650 a year ago and bought a Ducati Multi V2S. I miss my Interceptor. The truth is for the type of riding I do the V2S is way too much bike. I am paying for things I don't need. I am trying to decide between the Interceptor and the Super Meteor. After your review I am leaning towards the Meteor. I hope it is not too long until the Super Meteor is available in the U.S.A. The one question I have for RE is why not tachometer on the Super Meteor?
Any comparison between thunderbird 500 vs this model. I know this is a more powerful engine. But if you want to use it within the city and on the highway, which one would you prefer?
I am hearing this feedback of rear suspension is not comfortable that creates stiffness and hurts back during long ride and lights (lamp) throw during night is not powerful enough especially when street lights are not there ..

Nice, honest review. I really like the look of this bike especially in this colour. However, it's a bit too much maintenance for me. If it had a belt drive (I have promised myself to never lubricate and clean a motorcycle chain again) and a blacked out exhaust system I would seriously consider spending my money.
You must be an American, because NO where else in the world are belt drives used on bikes. Virtually everyone uses chain drives or maybe some have shafts. Enfield, Kawi, KTM, BMW, Yamaha, Mash, Triumph, etc, etc.... I live in a country of about 60 million people on two wheels and the ONLY people who have a belt drive are the few thousand HD owners. Chain drive is the norm for the 1 or 2 BILLION motorcyclists in the world outside the US, so naturally Enfield built it with them in mind. In most countries of the world, mechanics don't even know what a belt drive is, let alone have the ability to service it. As surprising as it may be, the rest of the world doesn't revolve around the tiny number of HD riders in the USA. No way Enfield would kill their flagship bike by saddling it with a belt drive. It's not a good economic decision. Get a can of chain lube and take 20 seconds to spray the chain. It ain't rocket science. I've got 4 bikes with chains, it's nothing to change, clean or adjust them.
@@khaccanhle1930 Plausible assumption but very wrong. I'm from Denmark and I never had much interest in a Harley Davidson (which are generally too heavy and poor value for what you get in my opinion). I just happen to think that chains are outdated and should be phased out sooner than later. Belt drive conversion kits are sold for a lot of bikes including Enfield's but I only know a few dealers and they tend to be out of stock. Btw. belt drive also comes as standard on several other brands including some models from BMW for example.
I completely disagree with one point mentioned about suspension causing some concern with mumbai road condition. I still ride bullet 350 which was purchased by my father way back in 1974.. and in Mumbai roads specially during monsoon my 1974 model bullet 350 still runs smoothly. Now count for how many years this bike is with us and it's engine is not yet opened. Surely Super Meteor 650, as compared to 1974 bullet is light years ahead in terms of build quality and suspension. I refuse to accept it will cause any issue. Time has come to have this bike parked alongwith 1974 Bullet 350
Not sure Why it's compared to interceptor, jus because it's a same engine ? But surprised that PPL don't realise it's a crusier a different segment ..and should be looked as a cruiser and be reviewed
This is helpful. One needs to check how it goes on a patchy road or off road as advised. BTW, can we have a comparison between Meteor and Super Meteor based on value for money.
I have ridden this bike and found no significant vibrations across the rev range. By and large this is the experience of most riders I have discussed with. I don't know if the issue was with your bike or you are nitpicking too much 😊
Vikrant has mentioned about the vibrations in comparison to his BS4 Interceptor 650, and he has mentioned that in the video. Only an Interceptor owner can gauge it.
Your review is fair. Thanks. If you own a bike of this category/class you would really know how to ride a bike with the GC of 135. There is no reason to make such a fuss about the gc. None of the reviewers address that one particular issue- the long wheelbase and the subsequent issues of parking and maneuvering at low speeds in an urban scenario. For good chain and sprocket life the chain would need love and care every 500km which makes the main stand a God sent, not what you make it sound- a vestigial organ. You dont know the main headache of the earlier 650s being the poor ratios of 5th and 6th. Would help if you tell us what they have done to correct that on a cruiser.
When I looked at this bike last week,,I thought it looked beautiful, But there are two issues I would point out... Both the rear brake lever and the gear shift lever look rubbish..I do not blame RE for this,,,Its down to cost,,,Hopefully some enterprising company will make some better ones as an accessory.
Hello all, I live in Dharamshala is this bike adviceable for me. My doubt is that if its ground clearance would be suffice for slight mountains? I am not into heavy off road riding but sometimes only if some part of road is not well built.
RE should give good GC. Where most indian roads are not as we expect. Just rode re bullet. Even at small speed breakers it touching to ground and that sound makes me horrible to ride. 🤐🤐
Primarily alloys and an option to fit wider tires. I'm okay with the performance of halogen lights and conventional forks and updating the same will bring the cost of the motorcycle close to the super meteor
The welded joints are poor, not premium category. shocks and vibrations are critical for premium segment. I am disappointed. Also, why RE don't at lest one DOHC engine? It can't be just the sound
Can the difference in Seat Height between Meteor 350 and Super Meteor be well felt? I'm not a tall guy and I own a Meteor 350 (Custom Supernova) and can just flat foot the Meteor 350. Wondering if the Super Meteor will also come with Low Rider Seat as an optional accessory. Then I'm totally game! Or else, I'll probably have to go for the Vulcan S.
A good review. However, practical aspects of the motorcycle has not been highlighted... Emphasising on 135 mm ground clearance is a non issue as it is ample to clear all obstacles and bumps under normal conditions. The centre stand is essential for maintenance of the chain and bike... After all it is a cruiser well made... Interceptor is a different bike, so i think the comparison is strange!!! Enjoy the Super Meteor
The rear suspension is not firm it's too soft and bottoms out too easy, I'm about 90kg and have to have it on setting 4 out of 5 solo to stop it bottoming out and sending bumps to the spine. I have done running sag tests to find that out, the front is perfect. Love the bike but I probably need to change the rear shocks.
Yes.. Some legends are Born to be lead.. The others just follows the same path.. I am sure.. Many of famous multinational giants will be rigorously looking the sales figures of this model to lunch their counterparts . If it is touchdown their expectations, NOTE DOWN THIS.. Wish RE would do a version without the chrome exhaust. A blacked out exhaust would look great.
Great Review! Comparison with INT was brilliant too!!
Thank you 🙏🏽 Glad you liked it.
You say, gearbox is unchanged. Do we know the sprocket numbers?
Center stand on this bike feels like luxury
Indeed. It is a luxury on all the bikes.
I am already thinking what all parts i can fit in for my interceptor...can you make a video on the same...like handle bar instrumental cluster...
Which accessories are you looking to fit on your Interceptor 650?
Of course nicely given the options about RE Meteor 650 n GT interceter, here is my question, if we opt this variant with paniar, it will be difficult to the pillan?
i wish it had the spoked wheels of the interceptor
Vibration : how it is comparing meteor 350?
What problem / difference may feel from upgrading from meteor 350 to 650!?
Excellent & honest review - eagerly awaiting my Astral Black SM 650 !!!
They don’t want people to go fast or something. I think they just phasing it out. They are test some hybrid stuff for the next generation it seems.
Any comparison between thunderbird 500 vs this model. I know this is a more powerful engine. But if you want to use it within the city and on the highway, which one would you prefer?
If royal Enfield just bring this level of finishing on the 650 twin then it will be a must buy even if they increase their prices.
Very well analysed each and every point, impressive as always.
Good review👍, I'm going to look at one soon, I'm sure I won't be disappointed, hopefully 🤞
Everything is ok sir, becoze I hv booked the RE,Meteor 650 celestial red n I am doubt full for the paniar that it may not be hindrance for the pillan
How is this bike compared to kawasaki Z650RS and which is better?
Well done Vikrant. I loved the insight and the comparitive nuances were excellent. Many thanks Indeed!!
I'm just waiting for RE to update the interceptor and it's a done deal for me then.
Ok. It shouldn’t take much time. @royalenfield are you listening?
I am hearing this feedback of rear suspension is not comfortable that creates stiffness and hurts back during long ride and lights (lamp) throw during night is not powerful enough especially when street lights are not there ..
Ok sirji.
Astoundingly beautiful
What about heating issue compared to interceptor?
RE started testing shotgun before super meteor and now super meteor is launched and there is no news or update of shotgun. I waited for over an year but giving up now. Will be ordering vstorm sx soon.
Shotgun 650 should be launched within 6 months.
It will be an excellent homage to the Bullet 350. Congratulations in advance.
@@BikeWaleOfficial thanks a lot 🙏
Flawless review ❤ Thank you
Not sure Why it's compared to interceptor, jus because it's a same engine ?
Too much of gaps in the engine bay. Is that a good?
Guy can we put super metoers black engine oil cover on continental GT?
Good Video. For the money I don't think you can go wrong. Maybe just change the rear shocks.
Looking forward to many of these changes to trickle down to the interceptor and the GT
Hopefully soon!
I love that bike, looks too much for a daily bike but what do you think? Weekend bike or daily??
Quite a comprehensive take. Loved watching this review specifically
What is that jacket you are wearing?
I like!
Nice review. A little more engine and exhaust sounds would have been appreciated.
We shall bring you the exhaust note video soon. Stay tuned.
Pity that the wheels are not spoke wheels. I am serious considering, if spoke alloys can be replaces
with these wired looking rims.
Why would you want spoke wheels?
@@BikeWaleOfficial Just a choice. I like spoke wheels. Others might also agree that bike like this will look even better with spoke wheels.
Sir my humble request to answer my one question please.
In between Interceptor 650 and meteor 650 which bike u enjoyed more to ride.
Interceptor- city.
Meteor - long distance
How much all extra accessories cost.
Hello all, I live in Dharamshala is this bike adviceable for me.
My doubt is that if its ground clearance would be suffice for slight mountains?
I am not into heavy off road riding but sometimes only if some part of road is not well built.
RE Himalayan is specially built for pahadis
RE should give good GC. Where most indian roads are not as we expect. Just rode re bullet. Even at small speed breakers it touching to ground and that sound makes me horrible to ride. 🤐🤐
Being a 650 owner I just wished for accessories that comes as standard with this motorcycle.
Like which ones?
Primarily alloys and an option to fit wider tires. I'm okay with the performance of halogen lights and conventional forks and updating the same will bring the cost of the motorcycle close to the super meteor
Sir what about engine heating
The Super Meteor 650 is lower than the Meteor 350. So, flat-footing shouldn’t be an issue.
Great review. Well done. 🇬🇧

BRO SUPERB REVIEW
GOOD 👍 POINTS
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The rear suspension is not firm it's too soft and bottoms out too easy, I'm about 90kg and have to have it on setting 4 out of 5 solo to stop it bottoming out and sending bumps to the spine.
I have done running sag tests to find that out, the front is perfect. Love the bike but I probably need to change the rear shocks.
Yes.. Some legends are Born to be lead..
The others just follows the same path..
I am sure..
Many of famous multinational giants will be rigorously looking the sales figures of this model to lunch their counterparts . If it is touchdown their expectations,
NOTE DOWN THIS..
" THIS GOING TO BE THE FIRST STEPPING STONE OR A TREND SETTER OF UNEXPLORED INDIAN CRUISER MARKET "
Welcome to a new era with a bang🔥🔥
A special thanks to RE. for developing a pocket friendly authentic cruiser & showing the courage which no other brands ever tried yet.
Shame on them.. 🤐
Nice review.. I don't know why there is less subscribers compared to other channels.. love both channel and app. Coming to the bike , I reckon this bike will have more takers but not for me .. I'm eyeing on the classic/shotgun 650 .. any info on release date on these bikes?
Thank you for the appreciation. Do spread the word and help us grow.
As for the Classic/Shotgun 650, the SG could be launched in Mid 2023, while Classic 650 is likely to be launched in 2024.
Really looking forward to test ride and trade my classic 500 if all goes well
All the best! Do let us know what you think of the Super Meteor 650 once you’ve rode it!
Good honest review...
