I HAVE AUTISM & BPD

Dave was diagnosed in the army with Asperger’s & borderline personality disorder, which as he admits, is not a good combination to have. Distrust, poor empathy and intimacy problems are common in BPD, often leading to difficulties in friendships and relationships. These symptoms may appear in both disorders, but those with autism are less defensive and are unable to read others' emotions. Children with Asperger's Syndrome can exhibit any of the following: poor social interactions, obsessions, odd speech patterns, limited facial expressions, peculiar mannerisms, obsessive routines and are ultra- sensitive to sensory stimuli. Those with severe ‘borderline personality disorder’ may have any of the following: fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, unclear or shifting self-image, impulsive, self-destructive behaviours, self-harm, extreme emotional swings, chronic feelings of emptiness, explosive anger. “Everyday is a battle in your head. Fighting your emotions, reminding yourself that you are good enough and your friends don’t hate you. One wrong word, one look, anything that feels like rejection IS refection. The you obsess about it. You pick things apart. It is a war zone in your own mind…’ (BPD Support)

i feel i relate to this so much i have been dignosed woth bpd and adhd but i have a feeling i have ASD but they wont dignose me at all because i am high functioning
