    For the FiiO app to be able to recognize the ka1 you must first download and update the FiiO ka1 firmware. Do it with the ka1 plugged in on your PC. Once you do that, the app will recognize it. I did it and works fine.

    Blame it on UA-cam's sound compression or my bad earphones at the time but when I first listened to your comparaison I didn't notice a difference at all, but now that I bought this exact DAC it's been the best musical experience I've had in my life! Great videos and very detailed review 👍

    Superb demonstration! I am convinced the FiiO made a significant improvement. However, having already appreciated the great product offerings of FiiO, I admit to being afflicted by some confirmation bias in advance. The KA1 seems to be one heck of a bargain for what it clearly does, according to my ears. Thank you very much!

      @@GeekologyChannel well I'm using it from yesterday and I've to say that details are really fine but I lost a lot of bass and mid-bass frequency and even with the EQ I can't have them back. I seems that to extract the details I've to loose other frequencies and same happens in the perspective of the music. I'm trying to convince myself about this musicality. In classic music is enjoyable. Females tonality seems a bit robotic (example Adele) never heard something like this before. Later I'll try with some other iem and back.

    • @GeekologyChannel
      @GeekologyChannel  Рік тому

      Wow😯First of all thank you for giving us your opinion so quickly, and also with so much detail. I'm sure people here will appreciate what you've found. It's interesting that you said the bass and subbass were less and vocal was robotic. Adele has a unique delivery; It's like she sings out of time with the track and hangs out words, I don't think I ever found the fiio to alter vocals like that but I will definitely listen in a different way the next time I use them! Please don't forget to subscribe if you haven't; I am almost at 1000 subscribers which is the mark to reach for a UA-cam channel 🙂

    Equalizer have no effects on 24Bit 96KHz FLAC files in this dongle. Since EQ adjustment for high sampling rate songs would sometimes cause system delay, so Fiio have set the Equalizer to be invalid for songs that with higher sampling rate than 48 kHz.

    Hi Trev, I have a question. Before that, let me just confess, I'm only a beginner in this whole DAC set-up thing so please bear my lack of knowledge. I have been an avid listener of Music for about 10 years, I have always had an inclination towards audio devices (be it earphones, headphones, speakers) but I wouldn't call my self an audiophile. Even though I did use some expensive headphones and speaker setups but that was mostly because I was curious and fascinated about audio gadgets.
    I'm currently using an HP Laptop (G Series) and I mostly listen to music through the headphone jack (with my Laptop's Internal DAC, Realtek is the name of the Sound Driver), My Library is full of MP3s and AACs, There are no Lossless Files (as of now, I might move on to Lossless Audio later) now I was just planning to buy e decent pair of Sennheiser Headphones, (600 series, most probably) and I was just thinking should I also invest some additional money into buying an External DAC (I was thinking of Purchasing ibasso DC05 or Shanling UA 2)? Or the inbuilt DAC of my HP Laptop would be sufficient?
    Impedance wouldn't be a factor though, Cause the headphones I was looking at, they all had 32 Ohms! Which my Laptop Dac is more than capable of driving I suppose! My main concern is with the Sound Quality, will an External DAC make my headphones sound significantly better? Or will it be an insignificant difference? Sorry for the long paragraph Trev! But I need help from an Expert before I go ahead with my purchase.

      I'd wait for my review of the shanling up4 22 and start to get decent lossless music on your laptop. It can get better than you have ; a whole lot better

      @@GeekologyChannel I wish I could try before buying as you said no going back from there. Well after listening to cd quality audio from apple music via ipad headphone jack I thought for what it’s worth these iems wouldn’t produce any better sound than this but then I cannot be sure its just a gut feeling. Would update if I do end up buying.

    • @GeekologyChannel
      @GeekologyChannel  2 роки тому

      Much of it depends on the quality of the iems you use as well. In fairness, there is nothing wrong with the internal dac chip of the ipad or the A52. There is much more to sound quality than just the chip however. An average source with good iems will produce better results than a good source with average iems. So this is worth bearing in mind
