Yvonne Craig was also a ballet 🩰 dancer with a famous dance company.I used to know what the ballet 🩰 company was called, but,I’ve forgotten it,now.I could tell that Yvonne was classically trained, also.
I remember being engrossed by both of them as an early teen, didn't know they were the same actress. Possibly because Batgirl wore the mask so frequently that I didn't clearly remember her face.
Yvonne was a lovely beautiful woman,I remember as Batgirl amd Matra and was shocked at what happened to her in Star Trek-years ago she was here for our Armageddon convention and was interviewed at the show and was self deprecating with a wonderful sense of humor RIP Yvonne Auckland New Zealand 2024
I wrote to her a few years ago and asked her if her dance in that episode was choreographed. She wrote a nice letter back and said she free-formed that dance.
Wow! Yvonne has aged well. Still a very attractive lady. She was so hot as "Batgirl" and of course gorgeous as "Marta". Major crush on her back in the 70's, LOL.
Eddie Murphy talks in "Delirious" about Captain Kirk getting it on with a green lady. I never knew "the green lady" was Yvonne Craig until just a few years ago! You know what I really liked about Yvonne? She's a "Mary Ann." Yeah, see, Julie Newmar scared the hell out of me when I watched "Batman" as a kid, because Julie is a "Ginger" (meaning she's elegant). Yvonne, on the other hand, is cute. I can deal with "cute" all day long. I'm lucky enough to have been married to cute for nearly twenty years now!
Even today Ms. Craig's beauty is excellent because she played the roles to her very best and even surpassed the highest expectations of the audience as Batgirl, as Azalea Tatum and as a green Orien girl. Only good and nice remarks or comments are welcomed over here. Apr 22, 2020 @ 7:10 pm
Marta was amazing! Then again, so was Steve Ihnat as Garth of Izar. He just chewed up the scenery! It was incredible! Steve could have been truly amazing. He was cut down in his prime by a quack doctor in France.
For your information, Miss Susan Oliver did play as the first Orien slave girl when Jeffrey Hunter played Captain Christopher Pike on Star Trek's episode of "the Cage". Please keep inside at all times. Apr 22, 2020 @ 7:00 pm
@@gregp103 When they used footage from the original pilot (The Cage) and turned it into the two part first season episodes (The Menagerie) Smart of Gene Roddenberry to be so economic!
Technically she wasn't really an Orion slave girl. She appeared as one in an illusion projected into Captain Pike's mind by the telepathic, mind-controlling Talosians.
EVERY TIME I SAW YVONNE CRAIG ON THAT STAR TREK EPISODE I KEPT THINKING THAT SHE WAS BATGIRL AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO CHANCE INTO BATGIRL AND KICK SOMEBODY! BLADE🕶️🕶️🕶️🕶️🕶️
It's well known she originated Batgirl but I often wonder if her turn as Orion slave girl on Star Trek T.O.S may had inspired Harley Quinn on Batman's animated series. Watch the episode and you'll see the similarities between the characters. Especially if you substitute Garth with the Joker. 🤔
She's really good at humblebragging... she slid in her award as sexiest whatever by framing it as a comment about the accompanying picture... in Batman interviews she will always mention that she was hired to attract 40 year old men (read "they thought I was hot") by framing it as a comment on whether little girls would identify as Batgirl or Robin... very clever
She Died in 2015 at age 78 from breast cancer. It's tough to imagine she was born in 1935. She must've been in her early 30's playing Bat Girl and Marta the Green Orion Slave Girl. As Barbara Gordon ( Bat Girl ) she seemed too young for Bruce Wayne and too old for Robin. Hopefully she had a boyfriend ( or girlfriend ) at Gotham City College.

She filled out that costume pretty well ❤
Yvonne was so great as Marta, and that costume fit her so incredibly incredibly well!

I may be partial because I grew up in that era. But to me, Batgirl IS Yvonne Craig!!
@@charlesarnold1953 Me too, born in '62 so I was just a tyke when most of these roles of hers were released.
RIP, Marta. We all miss you.

It's 2019 and I still can't believe Marta was blown up by Lord Garth. I was devistated as a child.
Yeah Garth...Capt Kirk thought that was cold too.
I wrote to her a few years ago and asked her if her dance in that episode was choreographed. She wrote a nice letter back and said she free-formed that dance.
guitartec nice... I was just wondering about that. I thought she probably improvised that. Very creative
As was I and in 2020

Can you please tell me what do you mean by free-formed the dance?

I wish I could have met her before she passed away.
She hasn't aged that well, really. She's been dead for nearly 6 years.
Yes, I agree with you.
She's great fun. Smart.

Top of the muffin TO YOU!!
Loved Ms Craig on "Kissin' Cousins" with Elvis!
She gave a great interview and has aged very well but people probably will want to see more of the GREEN GIRL (Marta) in this video.

Ihnat was from from just outside of Hamilton (Copetowm) Ontario, Canada. Died young. Westdale High School Hall Of Fame.
She was mesmerizing. I agree that Steve Ihnat played his role excellently too. I'm sorry to hear that he died prematurely.
One of my top 3 episodes. Steve Inhat, Yvonne Craig. Put on an acting clinic. Really top shelf performances
Yvonne Craig was so pretty!
Since I was a youngster, I've always felt sorry for Yvonne Craig's character in Star Trek. Now, my wife shares that sympathy, for her, with me.

Stop yelling. There's no need to ever qualify foxiest woman with white.
yvonne mentions 'the cage' wasn't susan oliver in 'the menagerie' she was green in part two?
"The Cage" was the original Star Trek pilot film. A framing story was written around it so it could be used in the two-part episode "The Menagerie."
That outfit was a bit risque for the standards back then
And exceeds the standards now. There was a level of sexuality in the TOS that is totally absent from the later series.
