Hi Eric & Christopher, your garden is Gorgeous. Question how old is your Light O Day Hydrangea? have you had any blooms? do you remember if it’s a early bloomer or late?. I have one, It has never been pruned, it has grown so much it looks super healthy, it gets more sun & afternoon shade 🤦🏼♀️ I’m lost with this one
Hello Chris & Eric! Your garden is truly a paradise. All your hard work has finally paid off. I strongly feel the limelight’s should stay. It’s a beautiful white wall bouquet of flowers. You’re blessed with a huge property that allows to plant them in masses to display what they can really do. My tiny NY suburban lot I can only container plant them. I have two huge limelight’s in a 22” pot for the last 4 years. They are my prize plant every summer to see their big gorgeous blooms. ❤
You guys are gardening geniuses! There is not a bad view In your garden. Definitely going to get some of the millennium allium. My allium went over very early this year.
I planted Serendipity Allium thanks to you guys, and yesterday I was just sitting in my garden looking at its beauty and the wonderful amount of pollinators enjoying it. I have now updated my phone lock screen to a stunning photo of said allium… might have to print the picture to include in my wall flower picture gallery! It’s nice to look at images of my garden in the depths of winter!😊🌸🌺🌻
That Unplugged White Saliva looks amazing! The garden is looking truly lovely! I have also enjoyed using blues/purples and yellows as annuals in pots and hanging baskets this year. It really makes a nice change from my usual blues/purples and pinks Btw, I cut back to the ground, Brunnera Jack Frost and they have come back beautifully, I will remember this for next year. Love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your garden with us.
I adore Helen von Stein Lamb’s Ear. Same grooming zone as you. They have a big impact color, shape and texture wise with low maintenance. They spread and are easy to either remove or divide successfully with some attention. Great video.
Just gorgeous! It’s exciting to see your seed starts from winter. The dahlias, veggies, zinnias. If you could, a video on what did well and you loved. I remember when you copiced shrubs 😮. I’m like oh no!! To see all the growth they put and we’re only halfway into this season. Omg, love the mangaves , houseplants and verbena bonariensis floating around. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden!
If you like pinky winky, you would love pinky winky prime. It’s amazing. I found it in a garden center this spring and its blooms are blowing my mind. ❤
@@growformegardening well darn. I thought maybe I had something you guys didn’t 😢 😂. Do you have an ‘all dressed up’ rose? I have 3 . It’s the rosebush that Laura on garden Answer says blooms the best for her all season long. And it really does ❤️. And it’s pretty resistant to pests compared to the rest of my roses.
Such a beautiful garden! I think most us gardener’s are just worn out by August especially with containers. I need to do some major budworm and fertilizer maintenance. Honestly, just kind of tired of the heat. I just saw a dark purple grass yesterday at our local nursery. It was stunning in a larger can, the smaller ones look kind of ratty but my does it turn into a beauty deep dark purple stems and tiny white seed heads. It’s a native Blackhawks big bluestem grass. Zones 3-9, 48-60” tall with a 24” spread. Not a bad size usually grasses get really wide. I took a photo of it because I’ve been on the hunt for a perennial dark purple grass as well. Found it for sale on American Meadows website. Course it will be small but it will grow super fast. 😊
I just found your channel this Summer. I lived in Illinois zone 5b turned into 6a this year. Your garden is beautiful and it gave me a lot of inspirations. I love hydrangea as well. Although, I have a lot smaller yard than yours. I will definitely add some in my garden. Thanks to both of you. I love all your VDOs. I started to watch your older VDOs. Thank you. I would love to see how you organize your garden tools and supplies. I have loads of them and they got all messy. ❤
Thanking you both for taking the time to share your knowledge and your tips. You both truly inspired me to get into gardening. I started my front area of my house in Chicago. I only buy what’s on sale, but it gives me time to keep working on my gardens front than back on a budget. Thankin you both! 💜
I made a comment in the beginning of the spring about wishing I could do what you do but I have a limited budget. Y’all basically said to do what I could do. I want to say I have transformed my front yard this spring and summer!!! I am in love with gardening and already have plans to extend the bed against my house this fall. Thank you for sharing. Excited to introduce hydrangea in the spring
Good morning🌞looking dreamy, Eric the garden has many beautiful views, I can't decide😉that bed with the Salvia and Quick Fire Fab hydrangea is divine, I am very happy I added that salvia this year. The containers look fab! Your garden always makes me smile and feels me with joy, you both are great, have a wonderful gardening weekend🌞
Oh my GOODNESS! I have SO MUCH to say about your FABULOUS gardens. Your plants OBVIOUSLY LOVE the two of you very much! They are SO lush and full and COLORFUL! As you were touring, I imagined a big beautiful glass greenhouse up on the berm between your property and the forest! Can you IMAGINE it?!!! Christopher, imagine all the plants that you could start from seed in it! Oh PLEEEEEZE do NOT get rid of your Hydrangea wall! That would be DEVASTATING! But if you do, would you be replacing them with a hardier Hydrangea? When the time comes, will you be showing us what you cut down in the Fall vs in the Spring? I would LOVE to know what you do as I just found you maybe 2 months ago. I too am Zone 5B but in Ottawa Ontario Canada. As always, I am SO grateful for all the time you take to show us your little piece of Heaven 🥰
Just found your channel im a new subscriber, can’t believe it took me this long to find you. I’m a huge gardener and really enjoying binge watching all your videos. Beautiful work 🇨🇦
Those pumpkins are adorable! The front bed looks really pretty. Do you have a favorite spot of your garden? Is there one particular area that you tend to favor more?
You guys are so awesome! I love your garden and style, and how you do it together! Just subscribed a few wks ago and I’ve watched so many of your videos, I wish we were neighbors 😂I’m in western ny, I’ve developed a passion for hydrangeas this year (although I’m battling the deer by me…) thanks for sharing all this beauty ❤
It was great seeing your mid-August garden. If you come to Cape Cod's Hydrangea Tour next year, please stop at the Eastham Garden, Creative Gardens of the Outer Cape, on 2025. My garden will be on display. Cheers!
Beautiful garden tour! I love your hydrangea hedge, but an idea could be to landscape the first part of the hedge and leave the last half of the hedge if you want something different. Maybe you can move some of the hydrangeas elsewhere or give them away??
Amazing colors for August! Beautiful views from all angles, though I agree with you Eric, the view over the Verbena is Spectacular. Funny, I planted lime hydrangeas near my Rubyfalls two years ago. Love the color combo also. Excited to see what you do with the Prime hedge. Subtract and add, possibly? Are there any New York gardens you can take us on a visit? Thanks for all your content. Faithful viewer.
Hi Eric and Christopher, instead of lambs ears , you may want to try Angel wings, “Auricule Dusty Miller” , as the silver white huge leaves really add grandeur to the garden. I did find this plant does better in a pot rather than the ground . 🌸🇨🇦 I am going to get that PW unplugged white salvia next year which would match with the angel wings beautifully.
I'd be interested to hear you describe the scent of the heliotrope and what you think of that aspect of the plant (if there is even enough to discuss, lol, which would also be good to know if it doesn't!). I'm always looking for plants with fragrance, and that one is said to have a nice scent.
How much maintenance per day or per week do you do? Meaning from pulling weeds out, fertilizing or watering by hand. What are your schedule for doing this. Do you spray your garden with pesticides? When and how do you do it? Your garden looks so lovely compared to mine. My garden was not growing hardly at all but look so healthy. I added magnesium and calcium ( slate lime). It made such a difference. I have to add Elemental Sulphur to bring back down the ph. Now my roses branch are not so spindly and a lot more leaf growth. When I did it. My whole garden look white. I got scared that I was going to kill everything. I am so glad everything was ok.
Your perennial hibiscus look beautiful. I have a couple in southern VT and I don’t see blooms until September. How do you keep the leaves so pristine. Mine get decimated by I think sawflies in June and look awful is there anything I can do. They are in full sun.
Could you tell me if we should snip the flowers from our hydrangeas bush? This if the first year it has bloomed in having it for 6 years. Always tons of green leaves but beautiful pink flowers came out this year. Thanks for your help. You both are so easy to listen to and so knowledgeable. Keep on doing what you are doing. 💚💚💚

It definitely has a lovely fragrance. Sort of a vanilla floral
The yellow brings out the Pineapple Lily. I’ll have to remember that. Mine disappears in the landscape being so dark.
The pineapple lily is a funny one. I loved the original color but it fades a little olive
Love you guys ❤

Silly question. With what and when do you feed your plants. Have you done a fertilizer video? Thank you always.
We actually haven’t done a strictly fertilizing video.

We garden on the weekends and a bit in the mornings. By planting thickly we don't have a terrible weed issue, mainly grass along the edges
Your perennial hibiscus look beautiful. I have a couple in southern VT and I don’t see blooms until September. How do you keep the leaves so pristine. Mine get decimated by I think sawflies in June and look awful is there anything I can do. They are in full sun.
I spray with Captain Jack's dead bug brew weekly. If those little caterpillars get to them it's never good
Beautiful yard! How do you keep the verbena under control? Mine re-seeds horribly but I love the plant so much!
It reseeds like crazy but it is very easy to remove.
You should check Miscanthus Lady in Red from polish nursery by Szkolka Slowinscy. It takes my breath away. It’s new 2024

Just a leaf blower!
