    As much as I love the growing season, I also love the clean up and tidying of fall. I loved your reminder to divide plants - great way to increase the bang for the buck!

    Great video! And thank you for clarifying why it’s OK to still plant now. I also thought it was way too late to be planting but six weeks before the ground freezing is much different than six weeks before the first hard frost. That’s an important distinction that I was missing! Love your videos!

    This week I’ve been doing my first tidying up. Trimming some, planting others, fresh mulch. I hope everything makes it through the first winter. Started my flower beds this year, thankfully most everything survived. Lost a bee balm to voles :-( Thank you for offering so much inspiration this year!

    Excited for you guys’ video!!! 1:32 one suggestion: use a bungee cord for these and perennial grasses prior to cutting back ❤

    Thanks for another great video. Very useful information on dividing perennials. Even though it’s lots of work cleaning up and dividing it’s so very satisfying when it’s all done.

    Good morning🌞great information and indeed it is the perfect time to be out there relocating, dividing and typing up. We have been doing a lot in the last two weeks, we have had lovely weather, no frost here yet in Northern Virginia. Have a great week🌞🍂🍁🍂

    Great information, as always! Out here in California, zone 9b, we are still enjoying 80 plus degree weather. Almost time to start cutting back and dividing plants.

    I just can’t do it; we have been experiencing summer like weather and I am still watering my annuals since I had the hose out anyway when I divided some perennials! 🥰🌸🇨🇦 Garden cleanup is a great learning summary for all. I too am reducing the number of small containers since they don’t hold much moisture and will be staying with larger, lightweight containers that can stay out during our -20°C winters!

      We are actually going with the heavy duty concrete pieces...the hardest part will be getting them up the steps!

    • @eileenchang2173
      @eileenchang2173 6 днів тому

      @@growformegardening I would love to have concrete pieces, but too heavy for me to lift and move. So I’m buying pieces that look like concrete. Your gardens are gorgeous!

    I was always told to never cut back or transplant this time of year. Is that not true or does it go by species or something to that affect? I’m still learning so please be patient with me. 😂
    Love you guys, your so knowledgeable.

    • @growformegardening
      @growformegardening  6 днів тому +1

      If it can be avoided, we don't like to plant evergreens or grasses in Fall. I'm sure there are more but those are the two main things we tend to avoid if we can. Otherwise its ok!

    Did you have any earwigs or JP beetles eat your Sunking? Mine took a beating this year. My hostas are still doing okay, and my coleus were looking good untill Sunday morning. Now we get back up into the 70s this week.

    I have a large grass I need to move this year and oh boy it's gonna be a chore. It's about 2 feet across but it's in the way of a Leyland cypress recently placed nearby.

    Hi guys - love your channel !!! I"m wondering if you could explain what you do to get your different types of hydrangeas ready for winter please please please. I live in zone 5b in Ontario Canada. I've seen lots of videos about what to do, but none that are actual zone 5b. Now I assume my 5b is the same as your zone 5b but I'm honestly not 100% sure. I'm fairly new to gardening and spend a good amount of $$ on hydrangeas this year and I want to ensure the survive our cold winter. I would so appreciate it, if its possible. Thx.

    Hi.. I have several sun kings and it doesn't like much water or sun. First two years for me,, i watered too much and I have alot of leaf damage. This year I never watered and we are in a drought and it was at least 5 by 5 and gorgeous. They are huge

    You have setup your garden to give color all season long. I gotta do better with that my garden right now looks not attractive (only my first year trying) But i have learned from you this year so next year i will do better. Evergreens is what’s up, then roses….

I have found them on the west coast, but just spent the last year in eastern Canada and couldn’t find them anywhere! 🍂
