Because the ones still talking don't understand the history, the experiences and pain, and mostly the heart and soul put into this song. They're probably more invested in "modern" music, so they don't understand the significance of it or even the deep meaning behind it.
I've loved Sam Cooke since I was a child in the 60s. Still listen to him everyday. He would have loved this rendition from this talented young man. the laughing and talking in the background was bc people were practicing other things for the program as well. And before you ask how do I know that for sure, I’m the young man in the back with the gray jacket and orange lanyard, or as one person called me, the engineer. But in reality I was the program coordinator. We were in a space where the acoustics were strong and the voices carry.
