Oh gosh that was a gnarly cut yeesh
YAY! Can't wait for the next part :) Well done Nathan!
Aww tanks Amanda!!!
Good stuff guys. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Nathan, dude! Well done, great vid!!
Looking forward to part 2.
Looks like a whole ton of fun.
Thanks buddy! 😁
It's good every time!!
Boom!
Did that section last week. Rode it from north to south though but most fun/ difficult riding ive done.
Some gnarly sections right there
Looking forward to seeing the next videos
Love ya work
Thanks Bruce! It was truly epic riding!
I have been looking for your channel for a few months now and had almost given up until Amanda posted a link to this video. I am so glad she did because your channel is amazing. Thank you so much for the content.
Wow!! Thanks for that! I didn't know we were so hard to find! 😂🤘
@@fortheloveofknobs I had heard about your channel from others and was using the search function of youtube but not finding you at all.
Awesome vid!!! OMG, those rock gardens were GNAR!! You all rode them wonderfully! Seriously impressed and grateful for your effort putting these vids together.
Thanks for checking it out Rick!!! It means a lot to see your comments.
Fantastic. glad to meet you at the Steens!
Same here!
Wooow you guys are pretty wild! Great video! Thank you! 😊💕💞💟👍
Aww thank you!! 🤘👊✊👊
Looking to do this trip in April, Thanks for the footage.
April is a great time for the CABDR! Enjoy your trip!
Nice video - that first section coming down at 6:54 is no joke - I slid the rear down that, but kept it up ;)
Yeah! It looks so much flatter on camera! Nice job!!
Just completed sectors 4 to 8. At 03:57 mark, the jagged rocks were no joke, and at bottom, its a hard left. If you don't make it we'll see you at bottom of the mtn.
For sure! The video doesn't do it justice!
Great footage. I live near your start point in AV. Would have been fun to meet ya and give you a send off. Thanks for capturing it all so well and sharing with all of us!
Good to know! We have lovely Apple Valley hosts, but are always looking to make more friends! :-)
Next time!
Amanda Z sent me, subscribed. Good stuff all.
Hey Sean! Thanks for subscribing! 👍
@@fortheloveofknobs No problem, thanks for sharing the adventures. Best wishes.
Wow, that looks like an amazing ride. Don’t think I could do that (yet). But definitely something to build up to for sure. Great video, really enjoyed watching.
Hey Jason! Thanks for sharing! Something to build up to for sure!
Ya'll are awesome!! Nice work 👏
Thanks so much!!
Nice vid bucket list for sure cal bdr 👍🏍
Do it! You're gonna love it!
Great video as always!!!!
Thanks buddy!!! Cheers!
Great footage on surprisingly difficult tracks. For some reason, I thought the sand traps on Section 1 were the hardest but obviously not.
Something interesting - I think section 7 is more challenging than section 1, but I had zero bike drops in Section 7 (except right out of the gate at Reward Mine) and two on Indian Pass Road!
@@krisfant4749 Your riding skills and confidence have definitely improved over the past couple of years and that gives me hope!
@@osimnod aw, thank you!
@osimnod Thanks! Section 7 is difficult for different reasons than section 1. Section 7 is really, really steep both up and down but there isn't much in the way of loose surface riding in it. Section 1 can be very difficult riding in the loose sand and loose rocks. You'll get to see us all struggle in section 1 in the next video!
Congratulations 🎊 guys/gals :)
Thanks buddy! 🤜🤛
Videos getting better and better!
Now I understand the "knife edge stone step-downs"!
Those things were no joke! The descent off the bristlecone pine forest was the most intimidating thing in the expert only section. Extremely steep for a fully loaded big bike! Kris, however, was not on either of those things and bopped down it like it was nothing! 😂
Nice job guys! I can see why you have dented rims.
Right???
Dumb question from this Mississippi boy: What does BDR stand for?? Looks like a blast!

Yikes folks ... I wouldn't have the skill (nerve) to go down those inclines. If you could balance the music volume level a bit closer to the dialog level, my ears would thank you. :)
Thanks for the suggestion, Garth!
Love to hear some comparison of the 790 to the 690/701
701 is more dirt bike, 790 is more adventure bike. They're both good but the 790 is more comfortable and smooth for adventure riding.
@@fortheloveofknobs Haha! You just summed up what could have been a 15-30 min video into 2 sentences! Guess that's kinda obvious. I actually have a 790, but sometimes wish I had a 690...
@@fortheloveofknobs 701 LR? ... i was looking at the benton to lone pine leg(s) and i think i see that is where the expert trail and adv trail split lipponit and hunter mntn??? i ask cuz i was going to try it on a vstrom 1000.. wish i could take the more technical route but..
@@CenCaBORL_Explorers Kevin - I think rider skill is more important than machine. I haven't ridden the Hunter Mt section. We've always done Lippencott because it's a lot of fun!
Aha! Snakebite puncture. Sure sign of low tire pressure. You didn’t air down when you left the pavement by chance? That strategy falls in the “old wives tale” category. Brett Tcaks talks about this.
Hah!
What bikes were you guys running? How did they compare on it?
KTM 690, 790, 1090, and husky 701. The greater differentiator is the skill level of the rider to be honest.
I listened to the intro 3 times, still couldn’t under what the lady said that they were riding backwards.
CABDR South :)
ok you guys have inspired me to create a cencabdr.. you interested?
Cencabdr? Like Central California BDR? You'd probably be interested to know that BDR is working on a cabdr-n that roughly starts where the CABDR-S ends and continues to the Oregon border.
@@fortheloveofknobs yes Exactly! cencabdr... it will use leg 7 and 8 of socabdr.....i figured there would be one thru to OR. ... i plan on it being a loop ride so you can join in anywhere along the route and return... i have the rough route mapped out with 1/2 of the alt routes also mapped, should be 1000-1200 miles... from the mountains to the high and low desert and back. without too many details on specific areas it will take you to some iconic areas.
Those are pinch flats on ur tubes. Tire pressure to low.
The tire's max pressure is 36 psi, which is what he had it at.
Do you guys have the GPX file for this ride?
It's on the BDR website - ridebdr.com
