The guys at Cerro Gordo also have an active UA-cam Channel called Ghost Town Living (for those who would like to follow their rebuilding efforts) ua-cam.com/channels/EjBDKfrqQI4TgzT9YLNT8g.html Beautiful footage as always guys! It gets better with every trip!! I'm grateful I can live these bits through you guys until I can gain enough skill to finally tackle it myself again lol
Lippincot Pass looks really gnarly! Congratulations on another successful adventure and three cheers for your advancing riding skills. Thanks for taking us along.
Wow, nice footage up Lippincott! That BBQ in Beatty was excellent ;) And yeah, Cima Road was very soft - kinda like reliving the stuff in sections 1 & 2. Great video!
I paused streaming Long Way up for this cuz you guys are way cooler than Charlie n Ewan 😜👍🏻 I’ve been following this dude at Cerro Gordo from the beginning, super cool. Some nice riding in those rocky sections.
Thanks Bruce!! The river was much needed but we did have to go looking for it in section 3. I think we diverted 60 miles one way off the route to get to the first river campground. Thanks for watching!
@@fortheloveofknobs the divert was well worth it though Stunning scenery and I forgot to mention how great it is for Chris’s skills levels increasing I had been thinking watching other videos that you Chris were looking very natural in the saddle and Nathan always looks comfy Love you guys and stay safe
First time viewer, great video. Chris always looks like she is about ready to crash but doesn't ...she like a Weebles Wooble but they don't fall down rider...congrats to you Chris!
Really great film, ride, people! Thank you for putting this together. I'd love to do this bdr but the expert side just looks way way too much for me now and a heavy GS. Liked and subscribed. I hope to see more.
Thanks for another great video. Looks awesome. What was up with the trail into colosseum mine being blocked. Was that rock-slide or intentionally blocked off? Any signage to indicate whether this is permanent?
Hey Dan! Thanks for your comment! The blockage was intentional at the access road to the bottom of the mine. It's private property and gated (the gate was open). Probably to keep people from swimming or drinking the toxic water in the bottom of the mine (my guess).
Thanks for the umbrella idea! I'm one of those guys that gets flats, and hot sun kicks my bum. Are there ANY trees along the route? ...or just a lotta rocks in the road?
Nice, but more roads, riding and less frequent interruptions would be nicer. I think it would have been really nice to show us on a map where you intended to go and become more familiar with what this really is. I'd love to come visit from France post Covid, but this did notgive me enough meat !
Hi Steinar! Thanks for your comment! The official Backcountry Discovery Route documentary covers the route in lot more detail. I recommend watching that. You can find more details on the route at ridebdr.com
Short answer - No, the mid-sized bikes are what we prefer. Longer answer - Preference is exactly the topic of conversation here. Having fun is a mindset and I believe you can have fun on any sized motorcycle. The variables are skill level, terrain difficulty, bike setup, mindset, gear choice, packing setup, and probably a ton more but those are the big points. An Africa Twin is a slight step up in size and weight from the 790 and a couple sizes up from the 690. A skilled rider can do all of this route (especially in the winter when the sand is more firm) on any sized dual sport or adv bike. It all comes down to preference. I prefer the mid sized machines because they're comfortable and powerful enough on the road and still manageable off-road. The sweet spot if you will. Hope this helps! - Nathan

Fixing a flat under the shade of a thorn tree…watch out for those flat makers! Chris is doing great for only 1 year of off-road riding.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic watch! All of you bring such a refreshing “ human” side to ADV. Incredibly genuine and inspirational.
Thanks so much for the nice comment, Rick! 🤜🤛

Thanks Billy! Appreciate your comment and for checking out the video!
Since you were doing the CABDR in reverse, surprised you didn't try Titus Canyon in reverse!! 😂😉 Great trip & video as usual. Thank you for sharing. 👍
😂 Thanks for your comment!
You can't do it reverse. It's one way East to West.
Great job, I've been down Lippencott twice, Once on my KLR and once on my 800 GS. Going up had to be a challenge.
It sure was!
You guys are awesome!!!! I look forward to seeing more videos.
Thanks for watching Eric!
Thanks for the video!
Amazing .... kudos Chris you are killing it!!
❤ it!
Great video. Looks like some fun riding!
Thank you! 👍
Bravo madame , vous roulez super bien !
OK, youve set the bar up towards Sterling Noren type of videos. I dont have the time or patience needed to make great vids, well done!
That's one heck of a compliment!!! Sterling is an amazing videographer!
Best video yet guys! Keep then coming!

It will be really interesting to see how Kris likes her suspension upgrade (lowering) in future difficult sections like these.
Agreed!

@@fortheloveofknobs Thanks for the link, I didn’t know about that! So much to learn.
Nathan, your riding a different bike. Did you get a new one?
Hey Jessica! Yep, sold the 701 6 months ago! 790 is awesome!!!
What time of year was this? Thanks
October
Ever wish you got smaller bikes? For the hard stuff? I’m looking at an Africa twin.

Can you get away with this ride on tubeless or should it really be tubed?
I can't think of a reason that would matter
