Actually, and speaking as a guy who has loved everything they’ve done, is that they ripped a lot of it off from obscure blues singers from the early 20th century. As long as the ancestors of those folks get paid, I’ve got zero problem with any of their recordings
Ramble on, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Good times Bad times, What is and what should never be, Immigrant song, Achilles last stand, Heartbreaker, The lemon song, The rain song, and many many more!
No band in the history of rock and roll music has done anything like Led Zeppelin. These guys are in the room by themselves. There were other bands playing rock music, and very, very good music but, you knew that LZ was above everything else and everybody. And it still is to this very day in many people opinion. My first time listening to Led Zeppelin was back in 1981. I don't have to tell you what came next. My life was never the same, it just got better from then on.
I have not listened to this tune in a long time. I sit here and just take the magical journey. I have been listening to Zeppelin a lot lately and just gained a renewed appreciation for the talent, musicianship, and genius of these guys. We are all so lucky that they have left this musical legacy for us to enjoy. If I were to suggest something for the people who are just discovering this music, that would greatly enhance their experience. Find yourself some old school electronics to listen to it on. I would suggest a nice two channel set up . I used a pair of Polk SDA"s and a Carver amp. There is lots of other great choices from the 70's and 80's.
Imagine! Their first album and every song a masterpiece! I'm so glad to have lived during the time when music was ALIVE and BRILLIANT and so full of talent that we just considered it the norm! LONG LIVE REAL MUSIC!!!

My favourite band of ALL TIME. Musical genius. Love that you’re discovering the music that influenced me as an artist and musician. Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Led Zeppelin. One of the few good things that has come from the COVID 19 restrictions is that people are at home, chilling out, and taking the time to listen to music that was meant to make you stop, sit down and put headphones on and take the time to immerse yourself in a musical journey. Rock on! And welcome to the club 🤘
I've been watching your Led Zeppelin reactions, and all I can do is smile and go on to your next. I've grown up with this band as kind of a family tradition, so I can't remember a time when I wasn't rocking to Dazed and Confused, Moby Dick or Kashmir. It is awesome to see you hear it for the first time! Keep it up, pauses and all!
Page was a genius at arranging other people's songs, just brilliant. Listen to the originals by the artists who wrote them and you will see that he did wonderful things with those songs. He was the riffmeister.
We used to play a game when I was younger. You listen to Zeppelin and you have to take a sip of beer every time Robert Plant says "Baby." It was a short game.
This is the first time I’ve heard this. It reminds me of when I left my abusive ex fiancé. Music gave me the courage to stand up for myself, and it was my shelter and sanctuary through so many dark nights. This has taken me right back to where I was twenty seven years ago. I’m so glad I pushed through and did it, no matter how lonely it might be alone. Omg this song...That’s the power of music and the Zep.

@Jamal, i'm a 68 yo Englishman Londoner, so this group was conquering the world in my musically formative years: I saw them live at the 1970 jazz and blues festival at Shepton Mallett [the forerunner to the now legendary Glastonbury Festival] that summer where they were to top of the bill on the Sunday [Pink Floyd on the Saturday]. I thought these were pretty boring, in truth, and have never been a fan of their music. BUT it has to be said this song is SENSATIONAL and I am now more into their music than I was back then. Loved your reaction to it, awesome.👍👍👏
Try Led Zeppelin’s “ All of My Love” It’s about Robert Plants young son who died suddenly at only 3 or 4 years old. Beautiful song and how he holds it together to sing it is beyond me.
The song was written by an American singer named Anne Bredon around 1959 and recorded by Joan Baez, who released it on her 1962 live album In Concert. Baez came across the song when she played a show at Oberlin College and a student named Janet Smith played it for her. Smith heard the song from Bredon when they were both attending University of California, Berkeley. When Baez' album was issued, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" was listed as "traditional," as she didn't know who wrote it. This was corrected in later pressings, but Jimmy Page had a copy without the credit, so he assumed it was a traditional song and it was credited on the album as "Traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page." Remarkably, about two decades went by before the credit was corrected. Bredon and Smith didn't listen to Led Zeppelin, so it wasn't until Smith heard her son listening to the song that she noticed it and contacted Bredon. An arrangement was worked out to compensate Bredon, and the song credits were changed to list Page, Robert Plant and Bredon as composers. Jimmy Page explained how he adapted the song for Led Zeppelin in Daniel Rachel's The Art of Noise: Conversations with Great Songwriters: "I worked out this arrangement using a more finger-style method and then having a flamenco burst in it. Again, it's light and shade and this drama of accents; using the intensity of what would be a louder section for effect."

Seeing how strongly you react to Zeppelin brings back that feeling i had when i first started listening to them in middle school in the early 90s. Even though I've heard the albums back to back hundreds of times, it feels new again.
This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. Isn't there so much going on in it? And the impression of flight when Jimmy Page brings it on the guitar. And the emotion. Amazing!
To me, Zeppelin is the greatest rock group, even over the Beatles, someone commented that you could pick any song(they're all good). Me and my friends wouldnt pick a Zeppelin song to put on in car, we would pick sides of a cassette(70's-90's tape device smaller than an 8track) from Zeppelin. Side 1 from Physical Graffiti, or side 2 of Led Zeppelin 3, were 2 I often picked.

This is actually a cover of a folk song. I think the rock and folk elements mix so well. Listen to the words, they tell a story of a conflicted lover who can’t quite decide what to do, or at least feels some guilt about leaving. All the members of L.Z. are at the top of their game here
In my mind this song is always paired with 'Amie' by Pure Prairie League. Two sides of the same coin...
The Voice. The Guitar. The Drums. The Lyrics. LZed ruled. "I'm gonna leave you but we'll go walking through the park every day."
@Philip Ledford Forever!!!
Led Zeppelin’s songs are always a great journey. Enjoying the next generation discovering this beautiful music. Thanks!
Robert Plant is only 19 years old singing this Dazed and Confused!
Both songs Led Zeppelin stole and claimed they wrote
20, actually. John Bonham was the same age.
Jay Edwards nobody cares.
Jay E- you're only half right. Babe I'm gonna Leave you has always been credited, just to the wrong person(Joan Baez) but corrected later to Ann Bredon. I have the Celebration Day live Zep album and Jake Holmes does receive credit now. This was brought about through out of court Holmes settlement.
Zeppelin cared , when they got their sorry song stealing asses sued off ..and paid out
I feel so honored and privileged to have grown up listening to this amazing spell binding awesome music growing up in my high school years and well beyond. It is a journey that is unforgettable and never leaves you! Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd= the gods of rock and roll music!
I'm a grown man. I TRULY Love you Jamel❤

"I thought it was just going to be nice and mellow all the way through and bo... bo... boy did they just ROCK YOUR FACE OFF!!! You can say that about many Zeppelin tunes. It's what makes them so great.
Tears all the time, when I hear the passion in his voice. Besides, I can relate...................
Hey Jamel,I’m in my 60s,I bought this album the DAY it was released, skipped school ,parents were working,I shook the walls playing it.So epic, try Goodtimes Badtimes from the same album😎♥️🇨🇦
Zep paradox: no song sounds like the other, but all sound Zeppelin(ish)
seledia ABSOLUTELY
They definitely have their sonic print, and it's interesting how the best bands can pull that off
Actually, and speaking as a guy who has loved everything they’ve done, is that they ripped a lot of it off from obscure blues singers from the early 20th century. As long as the ancestors of those folks get paid, I’ve got zero problem with any of their recordings
The reactors never get to Black Dog or Over the Hills and Far Away - love these ones.
Ramble on, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Good times Bad times, What is and what should never be, Immigrant song, Achilles last stand, Heartbreaker, The lemon song, The rain song, and many many more!
You got that right my friend!
"Gallows Pole"❗
Ramble.on!!!!
Have you just nearly named 2 albums. Lol
UK Liverpool ZEP FAN since 15 years old. 1982.
Tripping out on magic mushrooms and lsd then pot after nine and a valium so sleep.
Led Zeppelin!!! Yeah!!!
I got to see them in Detroit 4 times in the 70's! Insane!!
I was at the 77 Pontiac Silverdome show - fabulous
Beverly Wirgau lucky!!
Saw them twice here in PA. I remember the one show in the stadium costing just $10.00!
This is like watching a kid's First time in a Candy Store!!!
Exactly! Well said.
Yeah I see that.hes like John Bonham.wow.
A kid in a Candy Store Rock
I love to see his face
The intensity of this song is tremendous. Deep, deep track and timeless classic.
Imagine! Their first album and every song a masterpiece! I'm so glad to have lived during the time when music was ALIVE and BRILLIANT and so full of talent that we just considered it the norm! LONG LIVE REAL MUSIC!!!
It’s 8am in Vancouver, Canada. I’m in a coffee shop and noticed that you were experiencing some more new Zep... had to watch. No headphones, volume turned way down so I don’t disturb anyone... still getting goosebumps... ‘splain that dude...
I have found that the production quality and dynamic range of these Led Zeppelin recordings is a very big part of what makes them special.
Keep up the good work Jamal, and enjoy.
I'm re-experiencing my reactions to the Mighty Zep when i was young by watching your reactions.

I'd love to watch you to Kashmir
Page was a genius at arranging other people's songs, just brilliant. Listen to the originals by the artists who wrote them and you will see that he did wonderful things with those songs. He was the riffmeister.
I've got a severe attack of goosebumps! Thanks for the sheer clarity of play. oooh
Excellent song. Robert Plant's vocals are 🔥🔥🔥
Unbelievable 💜💙💚
His vocals have given me shivers for the last 50 years. Damn what I would give for just one night 👍😉
Yes... I felt the same way when I heard this song for the first time. Actually I didn't know if I wanna cry or smile and enjoy. Powerfull song.
Agree as a young teen I thought I knew Zeppelin but it wasn’t until I got a little older were I found the great gems
Zeppelin like Pink Floyd is a religious experience.
I routinely go back and forth between which is the best band of all time - Floyd or Zep. I usually settle on both.
It’s called Luciferianism... It’s easy to lose yourself in their awesome music...
@Dan Ellis Jimmy Page sold his soul to the devil for his talent its well known.

How could anyone give Jamel a thumbs down? The guy is a real gem. Great reaction video!
This brought back some memories. Driving around in my beat up 1964 1\2 mustang, a Craig cassette player and hearing this for the first time. My poor little high school mind was totally blown. It wasn’t new but it was new for me. Thanks for the memories.
One of my favorites by Zeppelin ❤
The first time I heard this song, I knew what my mission in life was, and started a band afterwards. Zeppelin is still my favorite band, and I'll always look up to them as a musician.
One band, 4 virtuoso musicians widely considered top 5 of their instruments. Just can’t say enough about them they are one of the very best of all time!!!! Because them, the Beatles and Pink Floyd I have learned so much and lived a full life!
The 1st Zeppelin album is still my favorite. A little more raw than their later work.
TEXAS VETERAN HERE, I’m 64 yrs, I saw Led Zeppelin 2 times , thank you Sir !!!!!!TEXAS VET
The soul of Robert Plant and the divine fingers of Jimmy page are in so much harmony. Love it always have always will. God bless
This is from their debut album, recorded at the end of '68 and released in January '69. An incredible first album but they only get better from here. :)
Incredible first album, one of the best! Talk about starting strong.
Good Times Bad Times is the kind of song you'd expect from a band well established in their prime, 3rd or 4th album maybe.
First song on the first goddamn album for Zeppelin. Incredible.
Hey Jamel thanks for reacting to the best ever Led Zep song. Your reactions are always brilliant. I am an old English dude and I first heard this song when I was a teenager. It blew my mind then and it still does today. The power and emotion in Robert's voice is out of this world. Keep your great reactions coming man!
All the amazingly wonderful & bliss-inducing guitar sounds tickling the pleasure center of your ear holes come courtesy of Jimmy Page. Thank you riffmaster Page & Led Zeppelin.

@Tarik Bey both greats tho
400 million my friend
Cuz..The needle would wear out the vinyl....so Had to buy multiple copies
@@highendservicesbarrieont8347 AC/DC sold as much as that. Back In Black sold 50 million albums alone. Sales don't lie. They and Led Zep are the best heavy rock bands of all time.

My all-time favorite Led Zeppelin song! Robert Plant's voice is amazing.
for some great bass playing, try "The Lemon Song" on"Led Zeppelin II"
i think it's Zep at their best
peace (from the UK)
ramble on, heartbreaker and what is and what should never be also have FANTASTIC bass lines
It blues just play loud. Love it.
Jamal would absolutely dig the Lemon Song.
You can't hear anything other than JPJ's AMAZING bass in The Lemon Song. Main reason I love it!!!! He's SOOOO underappreciated!!!!
@@daisyx8100 thanks xD
Try Led Zeppelin’s “ All of My Love”
It’s about Robert Plants young son who died suddenly at only 3 or 4 years old.
Beautiful song and how he holds it together to sing it is beyond me.
Greg Roberts yeah his son karac he was only 5 very sad and Robert was touring when it happened
I can't think of ANY other singer who had more feeling in his voice...so moving!!
Such and underrated song
That song absolutely destroys me.
@@derekd.4156 Another person who doesn't know what "underrated" means.
This was corrected in later pressings, but Jimmy Page had a copy without the credit, so he assumed it was a traditional song and it was credited on the album as "Traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page."
Remarkably, about two decades went by before the credit was corrected.
12/4/2020 - 68 years old and still listening this this classic = Anyone else??
65 moved to Canada from uk nov 1966 listening since we had pirate radio stations on ship of British coast early 1960ies playing many of the up and coming British band because bbc radio would not play them lolo. Seeing how strongly you react to Zeppelin brings back that feeling i had when i first started listening to them in middle school in the early 90s. Even though I've heard the albums back to back hundreds of times, it feels new again.
From Led Zeppelin I - brilliant debut album
As a collaborative group they are easily my favorite! Each member is stellar! ❤️❤️
One of my favorite jimmy page leads, so young here and already a master in styles
This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. Isn't there so much going on in it? And the impression of flight when Jimmy Page brings it on the guitar. And the emotion. Amazing!
I have been listening to Led Zeppelin since I was 16 years and still listening at 64.love these guys.
ULTIMATE JAM! no matter how many times i've heard this, it isn't enough!

@@MidwestFarmToys Without the Beatles, there is no Zep. Every rock musician I've ever heard has said the Beatles are always in the room when they play. See, e.g., Steve Lukather, who knows from whence he speaks.
@@MidwestFarmToys I never talked about " better." I simply pointed out that the Beatles changed everything. That cannot be disputed. And yes, there are times when I wanna listen to Zep, and others when I wanted a Beatles tune---there are so many of them.

Better late then never…..imagine being 13 in the mid 80’s and hearing this for the 1st time. That’s the summer I’ll never forget. Changed my life all other music was garbage after that.
