How old do you recommend your seedling to be before planting in the ground?

Very good and thorough guide, the best I watched. Going to have to re-watch and take notes. I'm in Western KY and don't think I qualify for extreme cold winters you referred to?

Thanks for your kind words. I’m in zone 7a. We sometimes reach 8f in winter. Only briefly though.

Can u start right at the seed inside the house or do you need to do the 3-6 mos in the fridge first?

I was able to germinate seeds after 72 days in the fridge. I also made an experiment where I planted the seeds right away, no estratification, and those did not germinate. Look! ua-cam.com/video/I44qoS3BjCg/v-deo.html

You need the time in the fridge to mimic nature, bc the seeds have a “built in timer”/“activator” that won’t allow it to germinate until those conditions are met. If you don’t, they won’t germinate bc they’re waiting around for the cold to come. They do this in nature as a defensive mechanism in order to survive a cold winter so they can remain viable until spring time
