It sounds great, but how are they gonna look stacked 15 feet high on a stage.
😂
You'll need a lot of them.
And a lot harder to really hit with the guitar at the end.
Just show a live video feed of it on a 15ft high screen!
Wow! Wow! Wow! what an amazing review! Thanks 3000!!! You Rock my dear friend! what a great day...
Howdy! Do you have a vtm circuit!?
How do these work in the front of a real jcm800 for more gain? No fx loop... Could use a sd-1 as a boost or hot mod to add more gain, but I'm just curious...
Where can I buy this bad boy?! Your shop on Reverb states nothing in stock? Buzz kill
Ok this video sold me. Where can I order one?
@@onewireman sold out. 😂
You mentioned the Marshall sustain, but they have even captured the unique Marshall growl with all those harmonics.
I see you are still diggn' the SG. Sounds Fantastic.
Yeah, most beautiful guitar ever!!
@@petervandervlies6427 Meh. I personally am a red or white SG fan. Burst to me is so overdone.
@@AimingWanderously haha, you're absolutely right.
Red is my favorit too.
Just talking about the model. I saw The Who 1971 in Amsterdam, most beautiful sound i ever heard. Pete's SG i mean. Crazy good sound. Greetings from Holland to you
@@petervandervlies6427 Greetings back from the US. I have an SG, as you can see in my avatar, and it is my fave electric to play, they are such a great playing, ergonomic, guitar, easy access to higher frets makes it a nice lead guitar.
@@AimingWanderously yeah, they're really nice. Used to have one, a really fine SG special ,when playing in a rockband.
Sold it, with my stupid head!!! Never found one as good.
Played a great Firebird for a long time. Still looking for a really good SG. Not to much of them, here in the Netherlands, haha
That really does sound Marshally! When you switched to the standard setting I could hear a hint of the Brown sound. I’m sure it could be dialed in from there. Another pedal I’m getting for the collection! Keep up the great videos Phil😀
Thanks Phil. I love your content. You always have something interesting to say about any guitar topic, and I trust your expertise.
Great sounding pedal ! Sounds so much like a Marshall ! Impressive .
It has that high frequency "sizzle" that I identify as a Marshall. It reminds me of metal vibrating really fast against glass.
Okay ! NOW I DONT FEEL BAD ANYMORE FOR DISMEMBERING MY 1969 MARSHALL WHICH WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL BACK IN 1987 !
The main transformer was not original and that is expensive !!
I am so impressed with this huge tone !!!
I cant believe what i am hearing !!
Thank you so much cquse i am not hurting anymore !
That thing IS A MARSHALL SOUND !!
And it is all transistors ??
WOW UNBELIEVABLE !!!
Also, SGs are good but not as fat as a Les Paul so i will be blown away using a
true Gibson Les Paul !!!
That's a super nice looking Gibson SG.....Really like the finish.
Phil
NYC Area
Sounds great in my earbuds.
I have this pedal and absolutely love it. It gives that perfect Angus sound.
Yeah, sounds Angus post-1979, when he boosted his signal a bit more.
I did AB between my PAL800 V3 and recently purchased Origin Effect RevivalDrive Hot Rod Custom 3x more expensive. RevivalDrive sounds great but The PAL800 won hand down for Marshall sound . It is more open , less compressed , sounds great at any volume, sounds like a real amp. If I have one OD pedal on my board, it would be a PAL800
And you set the custom hot rod revival drive correctly to get closest to Marshall sounds? Not that I’m saying you didn’t. Just wondering. I like both pedals.
@@MisterRorschach90 I did follow the recommendation from both RD original and RDHR by OE, and spent days to tweak it. Pal800 is still better. Unless you can recommend me how to set the RDHR. I am all ears. The RDHR can do many types of amps, but the PAL800 only tried to do 1 amp, and It accomplished it nicely. There is something special about the sound, and the way it responses to my playing.
Could the pal800 sound good going into a ss poweramp and then into a guitar cab?
@@tompaprexico yes absolutely, so far still the best Marshall style
I just found your channel from the firefly video in my recommended! Awesome video's! Definitely got to get this one, I have always wanted an 800....
Another great vid and guitar playing too. Currently everything I want to buy isn't available. Amps I looked at 2 months ago are $200 more today. 1st world problems. Thanks Phil. I'm addicted to your content!
Yeah I noticed that on sweetwater. Every single high end product that isn’t over stocked is 200-400 more expensive. Guitars, amps, outboard gear, microphones.
I’m so glad I ordered one yesterday and avoided the McKnight squeeze on this one!
Where did you order it from? I can’t even find one on google
@@georgestone3957 I ordered it from their Reverb shop the day before this video was posted. There’s was a few listed and I snagged one in a cream color!
At 3:00, on the Bright setting, you sounded just like It’s A Long Way To The Top. Wow, AC/DC in a box.
I was going to say the same thing
@@davidfaustino4476 your ears suck dude 🤣
Why do you always make me want something else!
Thanks for the demo. I think thatit would have been interesting to see how it sounds with single coil pickups, like a Strat or Tele. Perhaps a Part II Review?
I'm not much of a pedal guy. Own the Friedman OD and it's amazing but DAMN!! This pedal sounds great 😳 should be able to play Megadeth using this pedal if I got one.
You would like this way better than the Friedman OD. Had both and ditched the Friedman.
Definitely will have to get this.
These pedals look fantastic but they're rarer than Unicorn shit.
When they come up on Reverb they're bought in a few minutes of being listed.
So..... How does the 800 V3 compare to a Wampler Plexi DeLuxe which is mass produced and I can actually buy? 🙂
Sorry I would NEVER Sell My MARSHALL ever almost be like getting Rid of My Charvel and Jacksons ...... NO .... I don't use Pedals don't need to, My Marshall has all the Sound and More...... and as far as Sustain that is just not going to replace a Cranked Marshall Head with 4 12"s just cray to think so
Damn Phil, you have really upped your playing chops! Great job!!
That thing sounds incredible! I may have to look into one of those.
Look into it and pay them your hard earned money for a 30$ production pedal 🙃
Vinland!
@@bohdankhmelnytsky9369 Do tell!
It's worth every penny. I have this exact pedal. It's absolutely Amazing. And yes. I'm actually considering selling my marshall amp as well.
I have version 1 of this pedal and it's totally sick. If you want to have even more fun throw a vintage DOD 250 in front of it.
Great idea. I bet that would sound awesome.
Sounds great. It’s like heavy metal party music.
You picked the perfect guitar for this demo!!!
I sold my 3 Marshall’s also after getting that pedal and run it thru my fender twin
Sounds just like my JCM 900 did… I a/b’d them many times before selling my 900 for a hefty profit..
excellent Sir Phil!
you can tell in your smile lol then wow sounds good
damn its sold out everywhere
I'm looking for a marshall-in-a-box pedal for a big clean sound/thick rhythm base sound: any suggestions?
Cool pedal!.
Got one a couple months ago (creamback).
exact Marshall feal.
That’s a pretty cool pedal. I have the Friedman BEOD and the small box. I’d be interested in seeing a comparison between this pedal and the Friedman. Especially with the boosted #34 engaged.
I had owned the v2 of this pedal. I will say that it was probably THE best Marshall Plexi-voiced pedal that i've ever played. As you say, there are many excellent pedal maker renditions of Marshall - Ramble FX, Rockett, Wampler, ZVex, Lovepedal, Skreddy ... but this particular one was totally stellar for that Plexi "thing".
I'd like to get close to the Hendrix cleanish tones like on some of the live releases- that open, woody, mid-forward sound is kind of elusive in a pedal.
Recorded on a set of equipment no longer made. Goood luck
@@bohdankhmelnytsky9369 Exactly why I'm hoping to find it in a pedal- not about to drop $$$$$ on vintage Marshall stacks.
Having tried many, many MIAB’s, I tend to agree with you. That particular Hendrix tone is harder than you would think to get. Having said that, the current crop of MIAB’s is ridiculously good, and a lot of it was me not understanding how to set up the tone. It also depends on how you’re using the pedal. In front of a clean amp is what most of them were designed for, rather than as a sole preamp. And that, to me, is the problem - you’re always going to hear some of the host amp’s sonics. You’re better off just getting a Marshall like the SV20 - watch Dave Simpson’s review on YT. It can definitely do the Hendrix thing.
Great demo!
…..and the Reverb Store is sold out.
Hot damn… I first saw your Vid on this pedal on crappy speakers at work but I could tell it was a classic Marshall tone. Listened again on studio speakers… oh my… that is just heaven in a box right there! Ordering one ASAP!
Daaaaayum dude! You to the SG to the 800 is ferocious!!!
I wish more companies made SG style guitars. I love playing this guitar
Can you do a comparison of the Carl martin plexitone, LPD Seventy4 and this one and give your opinion on how they differ? Im trying to get a pedal for my SC20H mini jcm to get it into plexi territory.
ive been looking for a good pedal for my cab M. this may be it, is there anyway to do a video with you using it with your CAB M?
Phil rocks!
Sounds great. Too bad it looks like everything is sold out!
@@bulletsforteeth5029 but it’s literally not real communism. Lol hearing people’s takes on that topic is just hilarious. The lack of education just pours from people.
@@MisterRorschach90 It never is. Although only to those privileged enough not to live under it ;)
I also own this pedal and can confirm. I use it with Strymon Iridium and it's tone heaven.
What if you plug it into a Marshall?
@limelight81 😁
Gotta get me one of those, sounds great! And Phil your playing has really gotten good since when you first started this channel, keep rockin buddy!
It really delivers. Fantastic pedal. 👍🤘
One cool Cat!
That’s got Marshall tone in spades! 🎸
Wow, not thin, nothing spikey or muddy!
Thanks for the demo!
I have the PAL 800 V3 and it's just like Phil says he's dead on. I have it running though my
Z Wreck jr and it sounds as close to my 2204 as your going to get. Luis is fast on getting it
out. I ordered on Thursday and I had it in 10 days from Venezuela. I ordered though Reverb
and it was very easy to do. Thanks Phil I saw your vid when they sent you one. Just been waiting for the review you said you were going to do and let people know how good it is.
Well worth the money. CW
Great video, Phil.
...and it's Unobtaininum right now. Hopefully they will put more on Reverb soon!
Formula for aspiring guitarists, and anyone that wants to lighten their rigs: Vox MV50 Clean w/FX Mod + PAL800 + VS Audio Blackbird = YOU ARE READY TO ROCK!
What the heck is the Fx mod? 😄

Wuooo sounds awesome! Thank you for a great review as usual!
Phil, you are a wonderful guitarist!
YOU!!! YOU MADE ME SPEND $319 AFTER TAXES ON THIS PEDAL!!!!!
Thanks! It’s amazing!!!
This pedal sounds epic. I think they will need to refill their Reverb store, 'cause it is empty 11 minutes after you posted the video :D
PS Happy to support talent, but doubly happy to help Venezuelan innovation!
Hi There, Here Luis from PedalPalFX... we open a new pre-order option at Reverb :-). Cheers!
@@PedalPalFx Luis, not seeing it on Reverb on my end.
You cant get them :( I would love to try one my overdrive is a ts808 tubecreamer but I feel this would be a game changer with my carvin v3 I use low distortion then boost the odds with the ts808 to give more of a Marshall tone I do not wanna switch heads as I love my v3 but crave a classic Marshall tone
Mabry clean it's close but no way it sounds like a over driven tube JCM 800,I know I own one but if you want the Marshall sound at a cheaper price check out a Stage Right 80 watt amp I got one that sounds very similar to your pedal but not even close to my over driven tube JCM 800 should go get your Marshall back bud.
I just bought my first real Gibson Les Paul. Now I want that pedal and a SG lol!!!
Sounds like Johan Segeborn. He liked this pedal too.
This sounds fantastic. For a home recording would this pedal work well plugged into a di interface to record on a pc? For example: guitar ->PAL->m2 audio interface->pc. This sounds like what I'm looking for but I want to make sure it sounds as good di as it does mic'd up.
You should never sell your Marshall. It sounds good sure, but a Marshall stack sounds better - and it's all you need in one handy portable stack of the three units... the size of a family fridge
Nice
Nice video.
So how will this pedal pair with my Centura by Ceriatone ?
Cool for sure, would I sell my Marshall….not a chance, what I’m gonna get a Peavey and this pedal….not happening 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Absolutely love my OG PedalPal pedals.
Very cool sound! Since you even done a Video on BE-OD, what’s the principle difference between them?
Phil my new 2021 Gibson Les Paul Modern has a very tacky neck sliding sucks. Any tips to fix this it's a mahogany neck. Thanks for your time.
Boosting with ext. Overdrive for Soloing-Scream? Like mxr Zack Wylde? Mmmmh…it works? 🇩🇪
You didn't demo the treble, low and mid function on the pedal. This isn't a fair demo.
Yep, sounds like good old Marshall. Best part is, Marshall can't sue because they lost the recipe 20 years ago!
Hey Phil, what is that guitar hanging over your right shoulder, the maple neck with the humbucker/single coil configuration?🙏
I cannot find one to buy anywhere!!! Their Reverb shop has none & I can’t locate one for sale anywhere. Can anyone help me to locate one please?? Thank You. 👍👍👍😎🎸🎼
Way Cool ¡ but nothing sounds and feels like a Real amp behind youre back and yes it sounds incredible awesome
The Dark sound was the best to my ears and the 6db boost is nice. Good stuff, Phil ! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Paul an ENGLE by itself,,,hmmm not a bad platform to start with. How bout say a cheaper quality combo amp
Ok, Let's talk your pedal board... How does this play if this pedal goes straight into the return...
Sounds like what we wish a Marshall sounded like.
It’s Slash in a box, definitely more JCM800 than ‘59 plexi though.
There is only one question that is relevant in a discusion of an OD pedal. One question that matters to those who truly know what they are blabbering on about when it comes to genuine, raw guitar tone.......
Does it go to Eleven?
Great video , man !
According to my calculations, when this baby hits 88mph, you're gonna see some serious shite!
Drink every time he says Marshall
this is awesome, but I sure wish I could hear it on an inexpensive amp, and not a $1,500 Engl.
Didn't really get much out of this. The only thing I heard was chug chug chug and no real demo of the pedal's dynamics.
I've never tried the PAL 800, but a salesperson at my local shop turned me onto the XVive Golden Brownie and I can't decide if I love it (because it's amazing) or if I hate it (because it might be more amazing than my Marshall DSL40C). There are some great Marshalls in a box out there. Great demo, Phillip!
If you need a change on the amp, switch the speaker to something that might lean towards your preference. I bought mine with a creamback and it sounds better than what they come with stock.
@@ZombifyYourself Actually, I dropped an Eminence Private Jack in mine and yes, it did wonders for the sound. The ultra channel just has a very different voicing than a JCM800, so I go back and forth with using the amp’s gain and the Golden Brownie. Still says a lot about that little mini-pedal, though.
holy shit it actually souds like a marshalll...that's nutty
Would love to hear this with a Klon
Checked the website for the pedal, there Reverb store has no listing. All sold out....
Phil do you happen to know where I can pick up one of these ? I can't seem to find any dealers that have them or they've sold out, any ideas?
Hey Phil, what is that natural finish H/S strat style guitar hanging on the left in the background?
Woo-hoo! 'Bout to turn my Epiphone Valve Jr into a JCM800!
I GOT RID OF MINE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO MASTER VOLUME OR GAIN AT THAT TIME N IMADE A BAD TRADE FOR A PEAVY MACE I THINK TWO TWELVES N TOO MUCH POWER N BLEW THE SPEAKERS RIGHT AWAY>
