    Awesome Man. Thanks a ton. I’m a truck driver and bought a McPherson Sable Carbon that never goes out of tune and can handle the elements I work in. It has an L.R. Baggs Element piezo and using helix native this helped me tremendously. I even use my trucks stereo via the aux jack from my MacBook Pro as my amp/monitor setup. Not the best setup but I have very limited space and heck, it works for me. Thanks again.

    Huge improvement in the sound and I can hear definitely through UA-cam. The sound becomes live and more dynamic.

    Awesome acoustic tone! And I love that simple pitch! Way better than the pitch wham for drop running.

      Thanks man! Yes, the simple pitch works really great. But when you're playing an acoustic you certainly hear and feel the strings vibrating at standard pitch. It's a weird sensation. You just have to tell yourself that it sounds right coming out of the speakers, and listening back to the recording confirms it :)

      Chad Huskey how does the simple pitch sound drop or up tuning an electric? Like all but polyphonic on chords?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  8 років тому +1

      I find that it works quite well, even with chords (polyphonic). WIth electric you're hearing more of the sound coming out of the speakers, so it feels more natural. Meaning you don't hear the dissonance like you do with an acoustic, unless you're playing at really low volumes.
      I use a JTV Variax and 99% of the time use that for pitch shifting, but don't have that option with a regular acoustic guitar obviously. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the simple pitch tracked. I know they don't advertise it as a polyphonic pitch shifter, but it seems to do pretty good at it. Main thing is to make sure it's first in the chain.

    Wow. That is the first real acoustic sounding electric I've ever heard!!!!!!

      Glad you like the video! However I have to point out that I'm using an Seagull electric/acoustic guitar for this video, not a traditional electric guitar (not sure if that's what you meant, but wanted to make sure I claried).
      The 3Sigma Audio IR's do have some that are optimized for making your electric sound like an acoustic guitar. They have some examples of this on their website.
      I do have a video where I used my electric Line 6 Variax to do acoustic emulation: ua-cam.com/video/NjiPjWgV7YI/v-deo.html

    Great job chad, I wonder what it would sound like with variax on acoustic setting into an acoustic IR?

    Thank you for the video. I think the sound is not so good actually, far inferior to a miked sound. I think you could have had a similar sound without IR and with an Eq curve applied to the raw sound. But the simple pitch seems effective. How far can you go in pitch without changing the acoustic tone too much?

    Thanks Chad... really helped me to see that I can use my Helix for my acoustic project... I wasn't aware of IR's
    How do I get the IR into the patch?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  7 років тому +1

      +musictosoul you just need to use the helix editor on your computer to import the IR's into your helix. Then in your patch you need to add an IR block and select the IR you want to use.
      I purchased the IR used in this video from 3Sigma a
      Audio.

      Thanks! The link to download this patch is in the description. You will need to purchase acoustic IR's from 3Sigma Audio though.

    Hey mate have you tried using the acoustic IRs with Electric guitars? I am trying to replace my variax with a normal guitar and Using IRs for acoustic sounds? is that possible? or this wont be a replacement for a variax acoustic sound?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  7 років тому

      I honestly haven't tried this. If I'm playing electric it's a Variax so I use the acoustic modeling on the Variax. I mainly use the acoustic IR's when using an acoustic electric guitar.
      There are some videos on the 3Sigma website showing examples of using an electric guitar with the acoustic IR's and it seems to work pretty well. I just haven't personally tried that.
      I would say it's definitely worth the $10 to try them out and see how they work with your electric.
      Let me know your results.
