I bought the guitar just so I could use them, that's how sold on the whole thing I was. I reckon if you mixed these with mic recordings it would be pretty killer. Thanks, I'm glad my inexperience with an acoustic guitar isn't obvious enough to detract from the enjoyment.
Man, that's genuinely quite impressive. I've always had a violent hatred of piezo acoustic sounds, and this really does appear to make them useable in a pinch!
I use these IR with an Ovation shallow body acoustic. I use the DI and get tremendous change in the sound and tone. I now own three of these IRs. When used with an electric, there is a noticeable difference, but isn't nearly as drastic or convincing when used with acoustic.
They all sounded very believable to my big surprise ;-) I used to do pretty good recordings with a custom acoustic guitar I used to have and a cheap Behringer C-1 microphone and the results very very good...
I've found that the neck pickup works best when using an electric guitar as it captures way more of the body tone. The bridge pickup sounds "quacky". Even if the neck pickup isn't quite right, you can use the tone knob on your guitar or EQ in the chain to correct. Edit: apparently 3Sigma agrees. I just checked and the guy playing the V is using the neck pickup.
by the way, if you want to take an impulse responce of your own guitar, all you have to do is record the sound of giving it a strong flick on the back, then boosting the highs of the recorded impulse a little
All of these impulses sound decent, but not all that believable. I bought an acoustic guitar without a pickup because I knew I would never be playing it live (funny enough, now rethinking that), but just using a simple SM57 mic and a touch of reverb and EQ gets an acoustic tone you can be proud of, though a second actually good mic definitely helps.. The hardest thing to me is the performance, making sure you don't move too much etc.
Didn't seem to work particularly well with your fossil-build. Work well with the acoustic DIs though. Are these just an impulse that you'd stick into the FX on a track? Much like the Lexicon room reverbs? Peavey's ReValver has a good acoustic emulator that will even work with an electric.
What do you think of the TC bodyrez pedal? I know it's not an impulse, but it's sort of related in that it's attempting to improve the sound of an acoustic DI. It sounded great to me. Thoughts?
This looks really interesting! I'd love it if there was a way to try it before buying it. I get that it's not a lot of money but I'd love to find out if it would work for what I need before committing.
Blessed technology! I heard of this done but with an electric violin and it was unbelievable how real it sounded. I am glad to see it is being done with guitars as well.
+Jeremy Wiens yes, I've covered exactly how impulses work in my previous videos on the topic. 3 Sigma also have a tutorial video on how to use them on their channel.
The Gibby 15 sounded great but I am an old codger and I don't get it. The impulse is some sort of software but where does it go? I guess I could get a Line 6 Helix but at $1400 I could get a real Gibby 15.
The fucking horse! OMG you literally made me lol and call you a dumbass! Not that you are one, you're actually brilliant, just made me blurt it out haha Good stuff man, good stuff
Wow you legit have me interested in these. They sound really good! Great playing also dude loved the song selection.

Just buy a cort AS M5... decent price and it sounds really good

Piezo has given me anger issues

Great stuff. Really been digging your new content, man
Your mixes are getting better!
will it ever shred?

Very cool option!!! Thanks for making this demo!!! Looks like I'm going to purchase this soon
I loaded up the Mart45 into my Helix and PodGo and have created a very useable acoustic patch. Great IRs

I think I like the Tay610 sim the most.
What IR loader are you using?
A cheeky bit of more than words, nice!
Dude that acoustic cover of that "The Calling" tune is amazing :) great video btw!
Thanks for the Extreme lesson!
by the way, if you want to take an impulse responce of your own guitar, all you have to do is record the sound of giving it a strong flick on the back, then boosting the highs of the recorded impulse a little
4:23 swear I know this song but I don't know what it's called
i think its where ever you will go
The Calling-Wherever You Will Go
Nice work on this vid. Are these on a Stomp or are u using another loader? Thx
That bloody horse clip though!
+scoosh14 specially for you
Nice vid. Always hated the tone of onboard acoustic pickups and this makes them listenable.
I'm only like 99.7% convinced, it needs at least two more sigmas for me to be confident :D
Underrated comment :D
I see what you did there
Thank you! Are you using an IR loader? I can't hear the difference in my DAW when loading a 3Sigma impulse.
this sound really good!

any cheap way to improve your acoustic sound in live conditions? I bought a bbe acoustimax preamp, but still...it lacks authenticity
Get a Mooer Radar and load these or other quality acoustic guitar impulse responses. I love it!
holy shit, he did. cover of the calling!! I'm surprised
Would definitely like to hear these impulses on my freshman. Or just get another shot of that acoustic of yours for some Floyd treatment. :p
I would like to get an IR that makes my voice sound like the grand master Scoosh
Sigma Audio impulses sound really good.
Excellent impulses would be useful for clean acoustic tones mix with modern metal \m/!
Colin what is your opinion of the bugera G5 infinium?
Can I use those IR on a Fractal AX-8 or on Reaper?
Any device that allows user selected IRs to be loaded in will work.
Any DAW with the appropriate IR loader plugin will work.
I'm surprised you played The Calling. They're probably my #1 guilty pleasure.

Nice to hear Good Riddance(Time Of Your Life)
does the electric guitar one still work with single coil pickups?
+Hoshi Hearts they work best with single coils, particularly neck position.
Nice vid dude could you make a Review of the Sigma ? I'm Planing to buy one of these;)
Blessed technology! I heard of this done but with an electric violin and it was unbelievable how real it sounded. I am glad to see it is being done with guitars as well.
So are these a sort of plugin that you use in tandem with your DAW software?
+Jeremy Wiens yes, I've covered exactly how impulses work in my previous videos on the topic. 3 Sigma also have a tutorial video on how to use them on their channel.
Thanks CSGuitars! :D
2:25 is that Bo Burnham - New Math? lmao
Brandon Gore I'm almost certain it is. If not then it sounds a lot like it.
so has will it shred died?
holy cakes, these work on electric??
But will it shred??
What's the deal with that nut?
The Gibby 15 sounded great but I am an old codger and I don't get it. The impulse is some sort of software but where does it go? I guess I could get a Line 6 Helix but at $1400 I could get a real Gibby 15.
Wow, these sound great except on the electric. I think you really need the acoustic DI to get the best of it. The electric DI sounds awful too me.
Cheeky HG Wells reference there, Colin.
It might be UA-cam sound but I thought they sounded a bit artifacty, like low rate mp3 sort of sound, a bit warbly, especially the gibson.
These IR impulses sound worse than the DI for me. What might have I been doing wrong?
Was expecting Nuno's Midnight Express, more metal than More than words
Really sounded nice with the Reverb pack, wow.
I think they sound really good. Might pick up the Gibson model! Damn the weakening pound though lol
+Tom get it quick before it's worth nothing at all.
still sounds like DI :)
The fucking horse! OMG you literally made me lol and call you a dumbass! Not that you are one, you're actually brilliant, just made me blurt it out haha Good stuff man, good stuff
The electric impulses sound best if you biamp them with a clean electric guitar.
1:20 why the fuck is he playing a V guitar like that?!?!?!?!?!?!
I love it
Just look like Taylor
I don't any acoustics with electronics
The electric spud. Terrible but yeah I’m gonna try these acoustic ones tonight
I've been confusing the words arthritis and alzhemiers alot, which I worry means I might have arthritis
Well played, sir!
Ha! Your music matches your hair.
The Justin Bieber tune was gold.
Yep, the tune he plays at 0:40
hmmm weird. Same chord progression. Either way it's funny.
It's an ad. Lol. Cool videos though
sounds great an acoustic guitars but sounds crap on solid electric guitars
wtf.. thats horse head. 😹😹😹😹😁. funny.
so has will it shred died?
