Closing comments on personal technique hit home. For years I've tried to change from bracing with pinky and it's always ended in frustration. Also left handed playing right, anti-dexterous.

That cross picking thing is actually tricky. I keep want to go down, down, up.

I hear ya! Sometimes it’s ok to do that but I tell my students to get the straight alternate picking down first w this stuff. You’ll get it with repetition and time

QUESTION: Hi Aaron... some confusion on my part... At 6:27 of the video, you mention "DOWN on the 4th, DOWN on the 3rd, DOWN on the 2nd, UP on the 3rd..." But it looks like you are playing : DOWN on the 4th, UP on the 3rd, DOWN on the 2nd, UP on the 3rd..." It appears that the second one is what your are playing: DOWN / UP / DOWN / UP. Is that correct ?? Thanks for your videos they have been VERY helpful !!
