Best video ever! And best week ever too - I wanna go back already! Thank-you for making this video, Marcel, the memories will last a lifetime. And fun fact - the black/iridescent duck's name is Tina 😄
Great video Marcel!! Looked like a great time! Wish I would of stopped by to say hi, I was fishing just down the road. Glad Dave got some good footage as well!
Was lucky to be at this final performance! Thanks for giving a behind the scenes for us non guitar players who can’t attend. Looks like a totally awesome week!
I thought is was over being depressed that I was not chosen to go...glad your got to pick Doc's guitar and pick with your and my guitar heroes...great video...envious beyond all comprehension!!!!!
Dude this was the best thing I could have woken up to today! What a great video! Now I got Mama Don't stuck in my head and will be singing it the rest of the day. Really really cool video man! Definitely going to watch this one a few more times.
Great video Marcel. Too many high points to mention. Saw Billy play Doc's Gallagher on some shorts already and seen him geek out over it, never realising it was at bluegrass camp. And all those guys, and gals, pickin and a strummin was just fantastic to see. No egos, no divas, no look-at-me, just classic bluegrass flatpickin heaven. I've not picked up the guitar in a few days (very unusual for me) but this has re-energised and re-invigorated me so I'll be watching a few of your videos soon to play along with. Probably badly. But that's not the point is it, how good we are? It's just pure flatpickin' goodness no matter what! 🤠🤟🏴🎸
I'm 6 minutes in, Marcel is in another league when it comes to teaching, knowing the fretboard and understanding where notes come from. The small speck of Billy and Bryan was a bit too short, I feel that is a legendary session. great video, and I'm very happy to see all of Marcel's wonderful fan base see hime play with some of the best pickers around, and realize how good he is. Very heart felt and gratitude kinds stuff.
@@LessonsWithMarcel Understood, just thought this was a very rare moment, never to be repeated. Billy himself may appreciate the footage a few years from now.
@@LessonsWithMarcel Thank you for posting. I've always thought TR would have appreciated some good video of his impromptu picking sessions, and being recorded by someone such as yourself would go a long way with these great musicians. ( Playing with Bill Monroe , e.g. ) Bryan Sutton will not have that kind of moment too often, either, I would think. You are not the average fan stealing video moments. All the Best, very nice to see the recognition you have long deserved.
I am loving all your videos. I have been playing guitar for years and recently took to bluegrass after going up and seeing my Uncle play with his group. I need to get it together so I can sit in with them beyond rhythm and play some licks. Your page has been a great resource. I am realizing I don't need to "deprogram" as a jazz/blues guy but to alter just a bit modally. The new to me picking approaches and techniques are exciting AF. Thank you Marcel!
Well done video. I especially like how you tracked your steps throughout the campsite to give us a visual of your trek around the place. The aerials were great too.
Really enjoyed this. Your video made me looking forward to our Blueberry Bluegrass Festival in Alberta, Canada. I decided to buy tickets earlier this week. Love this style of music and I’m looking to learn some more!
I love the mix of brands, body sizes and top styles in the videos. It doesn't matter if you have a 0 or jumbo or a dread Martin, Seagull or Recording King. Play what you have, and have fun while doing it.
I’ve been gearing up for a cross country move so I’ve put off watching this but I have thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. On a side note I saw Billy play in LV shortly before this all went down and all I have to say to that is 🙌🏻 🔥
Doc would come to a tiny little restaurant/club in Johnson City (TN) called the Downhome every year for two shows right before Christmas. From 96 -2011 it was just amazing. He would chat and hang with the patrons and the owner, Edd Snodderly. It was heaven …
If you've put together a better, more enjoyable, more bluegrassy posting, I sure haven't seen it. It's a mini documentary that perfectly informs viewers of the sense of fellowship within the bluegrass community.
Hey Marcel, that looked like the event of a lifetime, the laughter from the guys and yourself was genuine and honestly Jake is so much more funny than I imagined. I got a question for you, how would you feel about tackling an advanced tune for the channel? Billy Strings In The Morning Light. it's a great progressive Bluegrass Ballad not to mention one of Billy's best. Cheers Sir
Movement and Location, This is the Song, Soon or Never, This Girl, No Concern of Yours, Magnet, Icarus Smicarus, Familiarity, I could name more but man, those are cool parts…
I will make every effort to join the Guitar Camp in 2024. I was at the concert only because I love bluegrass and recognize the name "Brian Sutton". I only realized it was the end of the camp about 20 minutes into the concert.
That...Was...Awesome! I wonder if I play good enough to be a camp counselor for the next one. I can feed the geese maybe. I definitely can drive a golf ca....never mind, forgot I'm not allowed to any more after my last golf outing, to much beer at the 9th. Thanks for this, very enjoyable & a cool way to start my friday. Never sat on a toilet this long though, can't feel my feet!
Hey, when Jake was showing everyone how to play a claw G chord, was that a Preston Thompson he was playing? Can you tell me more about that guitar and model? It was stunning!
The part about names given to processes for explanation(books)...but you don't have to know them to make the music. Leaves out the intangible but its the wave I'm catching.

How do you know that!? Tina!
@@LessonsWithMarcel Right?! Someone told me... possibly it was Claire 🤔
looks good fun, so glad you enjoyed it, gave you for ever memories.
Marcel, you are doing something special for this community. Thank you for your dedication, depth, and generosity.
Yes!!!
Ha. Loved that little jackass theme playing when Jake was messing with the duck.
The Critter interview/discussion was fascinating. Whole video is great, but that was pretty special.
One of the best weeks of my life. It was great to meet you!
Pleasure having you in Brevard! Glad to see you Saturday at guitar celebration! Come back again sometime!

Have not been able to find a bathroom without Casey around. Gone but not forgotten!
It was a life changing experience Marcel. Thanks for putting this great vid together.
This video is a treasure Marcel, and so are you. Love the way everyone likes hanging out with you, and playing geetars with you. Very genuine. 🤘🏻
So amazing!!! Just rooms full of legends. Andrew Marlin just standing there smiling was so epic. Thank you for sharing!

Every moment I'll never forget. Guitar, bluegrass, pure people... 40 hours round trip to camp...
I can be sure again!👊

Awesome video Marcel! I had no idea Ed Helms was an actual Bluegrass musician. Really cool! I might go to this camp next year

Not everything is for UA-cam. Billy hung out with us for a couple days though. I figured he's around cameras a lot, dude deserves some space.

Not a bad take. I'll post more of that jam on my Extras channel!

That was the coolest thing I've seen in a minute. Love that you had it synced perfectly and with the rhythm track. Pure fun to watch.
This is such a cool journal of your experience...thanks for the pretty long section with Critter too, I love his playing.
This is my favorite channel on yt
You got to play on stage with Bryan Sutton and Critter and Andrew Marlin! Not to mention the one and only Jake Eddy! Nice!
Really enjoyed that one, Marcel! Thanks for sharing!
Loved that video, what a blast!!!
That looked like a blast! Will have to go some year.
Had the best time at the celebration! Definitely gonna enroll next year! ❤

Okay. Is there going to be another one of these?
The lick from Jackass was a nice touch with Jake at the pond 😂

The jackass theme during the duck herding made me laugh 😂😂
