- How to model a car in maya for beginners. In this tutorial we will be taking a look at how you make a car model in Autodesk Maya. These tutorials are for complete beginners. In this video, we will model the front part of the car. I have used BMW as a reference, you can also use different car references.

Cool tutorial for beginners but why on earth would you model it so high poly? It's hell to change anything after
During modeling, if you create a model using very low poly, you will see some unwanted cuts in the model. The second problem is texture. If you smooth the model made with very low poly, you will see that the texture is stretching. So there is no problem in using this amount of poly.

The process is pretty much the same in Blender... Only for extrude it's just "E"
Also, you generally start from the roof.
The technique is all the same, The name of the software is just different.
@@Pixench Yup. Honestly, isn't Maya paid? From what I see it's harder to do simple tasks in Maya.. Like a loop cut (ctrl+r in blender) or filling a face between edges (literally just "f" in blender)
I've never once seen anyone start with the roof when modeling vehicles...
