I have done a number of glass window paintings and have a couple tips for anyone reading through the comments!
    1) You can use a paint brush to do any or all of the script or artwork. It's a whole lot quicker to paint than "write" to fill in the gaps.
    2) If you're tracing, try putting the picture on the outward facing side of the glass and do the actual painting on the back side. You'll be painting or writing in reverse (not that it will matter if you're tracing), but you won't have to worry about the paint chipping off the front!

If you want to avoid hand oils on something like this work with vinyl gloves (latex won't allow your hand to move as freely on the surface) and a long sleeve shirt so you're not putting any oils on your clean surface.

Erin Smilley I’m currently designing a candy bar. There are websites you can order personalized candy from to add to the individualized style of your wedding. Also using monogrammed paper bags to fill the candy with. This way if guests want to toss it they won’t feel bad but also it’s something they could easily scrapbook if that’s their thing.

Love the idea of using plastic/acrylic from a picture frame! Such a money saver. I would suggest printing the text reflected next time so that you can place the stencil on the “front”. That way you’ll be inking on the back of the sign and it’ll come out even cleaner 😊

LOVE this DIY! such a good acrylic substitute! i was thinking that if someone like myself who wants to try to actually use my own handwriting I can also practice as much as I want on paper until i get it right and then tape it on like you did and trace my own design! it’s awesome that it’s so easy now to copy fonts for DIYs!
    CONGRATS ON 30,000 subs!

I made 5 "acrylic" signs for my wedding. One way to make giant signs for cheap is to buy large framed prints from Goodwill and tear everything out except the glass and the frame. Then stencil in your words or designs! I made our seating chart out of a beautiful gold frame that was nearly 2' x 2' that I bought for $8 at Goodwill.

  • @Knight.Equine

I feel like this would be great to do with a floating picture frame where there’s no back but an actual frame to the glass. That way you get some support for the glass itself!

I did a similar technique with my wedding signs. I got free fonts off the internet, printed off my design, slid a white graphite sheet underneath the printed design, and traced over the words effectively transferring it with the white graphite paper. We used a dark stain so white worked best but regular carbon paper will work too. 2-3 layers of the paint pen were needed to make it pop the way we wanted it to.

Hi Jamie! Love your videos (obviously clicked right away) where I have struggled with DIY items would be with formatting on the computer and the techy side of things. My STD mailing labels were a huge fail! I know I would appreciate a bit more of a breakdown on how to download a font to your computer and add to your font book, or using a ruler tool for next time. I literally outsourced my singage to my planner to pass along to a graphic designer/printer yesterday but maybe there's another bride as inept at these things as me in need :)

Hey Jamie! I've been going back and forth on this. What are your thoughts on a receiving line?
I've had plenty of married friends say they spent most of their reception stopping by every table to say hello to people, to take pictures and things like that and they really didn't get a chance to truly enjoy their wedding reception because they saying hello to people all night. I thought it would be a good idea to just do the traditional receiving line. That way you know for sure that you spoke to everyone who at least showed up on time and you should feel free to enjoy your reception. Am I being too optimistic? We expect there to be a 175 guests at our wedding is that reasonable?
