Indians are extremely hospitable. and During festivals, it is welcoming to all irrespective of where you are. and villages beat everybody. Like they won’t leave you without offering meal. "Athithi Devo Bhava" meaning, Athithi is Guest. Devo means God and Bhava means like. It brings good luck when you welcome the guest is the Indian belief.

I was pleasantly surprised , when son recognised picture of shivaji maharaj, warrior king of Maharashtra. Now you have enjoyed ganesh festival of Maharashtra and Goa, i will advise you to visit gujarat for navratri festival. Other options, west bengal for kali pujo or Mysore Karnataka for Dusshera. Although these festivals are celebrated by hindus allover india, there are particular states famous for various holiday celebrations. After all india is a land of festivities and Hinduism is all about celebrating life and being greatfull to nature.

Nice way to experience India by going to the villages a little off the set "touristy" track but, that's where you find the real humanity. My native place is Kokan. You really missed one thing that you could have experienced, the "Aarti" in the evening done at every ganpati home in Kokan. Its an experience to live where community comes together, sings together and just full of positive vibes. May be next year...Cheers and lots of love.

Nice way to experience India by going to the villages a little off the set "touristy" track but, that's where you find the real humanity. My native place is Kokan. You really missed one thing that you could have experienced, the "Aarti" in the evening done at every ganpati home in Kokan. Its an experience to live where community comes together, sings together and just full of positive vibes. May be next year...Cheers and lots of love.
