Proof of the pudding will be, if they extend the same hospitality to a beggar on the street, you will never see that happen, as that doesn't bring anything in return.

I've seen many foreign UA-camrs vlogging chaotic bazaars, crowded streets, and peak tourist areas with constant honking. While that's one side of India, there's so much more to this incredible country! India is not just about chaos; it's a land of immense beauty, rich history, and unmatched hospitality. I'd love to invite you to Kerala someday to experience our amazing culture, serene backwaters, lush greenery, and warm hospitality firsthand. Trust me, it'll be an unforgettable experience! ♥️
You deserve this treat Padro. The Vaishali family is sooo wonderful. It is very unusual that an orthodox Maharashtrian family invites a foreigner to their house for food. But this family (the husband, wife, daughter trio) is amazing and an example of Indian hospitality. You made their day Padro. My special appreciation to the girl (daughter) who was instrumental in making this happen. Good luck to both Vaishali and her daughter.

Pedro, here below is an excerpt of what jaggery is from its Wikipedia page. If you do a web search for jaggery, you will find a lot of information about it. "Jaggery is a traditional non-centrifugal cane sugar[1] consumed in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, North America,[2] Central America, Brazil and Africa.[3] It is a concentrated product of cane juice and often date or palm sap without separation of the molasses and crystals, and can vary from golden brown to dark brown in colour. It contains up to 50% sucrose, up to 20% invert sugars, and up to 20% moisture, with the remainder made up of other insoluble matter, such as wood ash, proteins, and bagasse fibres.[3] Jaggery is very similar to muscovado, an important sweetener in Portuguese, British and French cuisine. The Kenyan Sukari ngutu/nguru has no fibre; it is dark and is made from sugarcane and also sometimes extracted from palm tree.[4]"
