    This was so, so helpful. What does it mean that I am watching floral design videos at 4 in the morning when the wedding is not for 9 months.🤣

    I keep coming back to these videos as my wedding date creeps closer. I can't wait to get my flowers in my hands and create with them. ❤ Until then, I'll keep watching and planning.

    Love the video, Thank you also I love that you used zip ties! It had dawned on me to use them but wasn't sure if it would harm in anyway but certainly seems much easier then the tape.

      Yes, they're super easy to use! When working with some softer stems like anemones, tulips or ranunculus, using a rubberband or a pipe cleaner works great too!

    What is a good flower to use if I want to have long (15+ inches all around) pieces branching out horizontally at the base? Creating a 'canopy' like effect over the table? (Using tall vases btw). Thank you in advance. And your videos are awesome.

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому +3

      Thanks so much! You'll definitely want to work with a longer stemmed flower- roses, delphinium and snapdragons have longer stems that would give you som length. I find using greenery like Italian Ruscus and Leatherleaf fern really help to give a "canopy" look too. Italian ruscus can be between 2-3 ft long at times, so it's a great greenery to use!

    How do you transport the centerpieces? Do you store them in water ahead of time? I’m worried the water will spill out of the vases when we bring the centerpieces to the venue.

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  5 місяців тому

      Watch our transportation video for some tips! ua-cam.com/video/QffJ_M3Hxxw/v-deo.html. You can also pour out some of the water before you transport your arrangements to prevent spilling, just be sure to bring a watering can and refill the vases with water when you get to the venue! You want to make sure the flowers still have hydration!

    How far in advance would you make the bouquet if the wedding is on a Sunday?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому +1

      I prefer to make my bridal bouquets the day before so the flowers have time to open to their full capacity. Once they are crowded together they don't really open much. =)

      If memory serves, it was the medium. However, be sure to order the size closest to your floral needs!

    You mentioned guard petals can be used for flower girl basket how do you keep them alive for 4 days?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  10 місяців тому

      You definitely can! Take the loose petals that you've collected and place them in a small plastic trash bag. Mist the inside of the bag and petals with water and then loosely tie up the bag and place in your refrigerator set at it's warmest setting. Your petals will still look great for the big day!

    How do you wire flowers? I feel I’m going to brake them😬😬

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому +1

      You shouldn't have to wire blooms, unless it's a specialty flower that is prone to curving and bending under their own weight like Ranunculus. Flowers do best with less handling so you don't need to wire things all willy nilly. =) XXXX, Amy

    Did you fill the center piece with water?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому

      Absolutely! When using chicken wire you can fill the vase up to the top with water to ensure that all stems are drinking and staying hydrated! If using floral foam, we like to have a small reservoir of water in the bottom of the vase to make sure that the foam is staying saturated.

    When you say you put flowers in the refrigerator are you referring to a special floral one?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  7 місяців тому

      Nope! You can use a regular refrigerator for this! Since most of our DIY Brides don't have access to a professional floral cooler, a fridge at home will work! Just be sure to raise the temp in your fridge to it's highest setting and wrap up any fruits, like apples.

    Should my fridge be at the coolest setting or warmest setting ?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  5 місяців тому

      You'll want to have your fridge set to it's warmest setting. This will ensure that none of your blooms freeze!

    Is it a bad idea to use the little stems of greenery as fillers? ( the ones you stripped off)

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому

      If they're good, those little stems of greenery would be a great filler for a bud vase or tucked into a smaller vase or into foam at the bottom of a compote! I like to keep a little vase with water and place any sprigs of greenery or buds I want to save and then use them later in my designs!
