    Thank you so much for highlighting this study! I am a massage therapist who worked saw 6 pts a day in a small unventilated room since May 2020 without catching covid. I took a couple class while in initial lockdown where I learned the importance of vitamin D. They also showed how zinc, curcumin, egcg and other nutrients could bind with ACE2 receptors and help block covid or at least reduce symptoms. This was all taught with the caveat that it was to help us protect ourselves "just until vaccines became available" of course, but When I read the trial data in the BMJ and saw that the Shots were only only going to be able to lower or prevent symptoms themselves I realized I would rather stick with the safer option of the vitamin D et cetera protocol. It may be of interest that I am also obese, over 50 years old, and already have an autoimmune disease and yetI have confirmed with antibody tests twice over the last few years that I have never contracted covid. All this time however I am scoffed at when I try to encourage people to raise their vitamin D levels even if they get the vaccine just to be extra safe. I am so thankful for people like you speaking up on this matter because maybe people will listen now.

      I’ve been taking vitamin D daily since 2015. I was diagnosed with MS in 2008 and didn’t start treatments, because I was doing well and couldn’t deal with injection side effects. Around 2014, I started getting weird symptoms of immune stress, like my hair was falling out, skin lesions, etc. I couldn’t work anymore because of the fatigue, so I spent my days researching things that could help me. I came across a study on vitamin D, similar to what he promotes here and had docs test my levels. Almost non-existent. So I began supplementing immediately. It took a few months, but I did start to feel better and hair started growing back and my skin cleared up. So I’ve supplemented religiously since. I have been following the rona since late November 2019, when I watched some UA-cam videos on “flu in China”. Then when an optometrist noted it by messaging his colleagues on their message system, then suddenly disappeared, then couldn’t find the original videos I had watched on “a flu circulating China” as they’d been removed, then the doc resurfaced with a retraction to his statement made to colleagues, then ended up in ICU with the rona and passed away; I was deeply suspicious. To say the least. I told anyone that would listen about it, and all I got were eye rolls and “yeah yeah yeahs”, even my family told me I was taking it too seriously. So I upped my vitamin D levels, started excavating for a garden, stockpiling supplies and just lived my life. People wouldn’t even acknowledge that I warned them to be ready & that this was coming long before our government shut everyone down in the US. Sometimes, frequent worriers should be headed. I couldn’t have made a difference on a national scale, but I could’ve made one within my locality, if people had only listened.

    Thank You, Doctor John! I'm here in the States and, thanks to you, Dr. Michael Cohen, Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr Roger Seheult, I got myself and my husband on 4K IUs of Vitamin D, K, and Zinc, along with Vitamin C. For years I've been told by my doctor my Vit D levels are slightly low. I think this meant below 20ng/mL since this STILL seems to be the recommended level. We both just got our vitamin D levels checked. Mine was 54.6ng/mL and my husband's was 46.8ng/mL. I was over the moon with the double dose of good news! I am so grateful for finding you and the others in the sea of misinformation and mixed messages. You each have offered such practical, timely, and vital information on prophylactic and early treatment of COVID for us. Between all of you I had a sound set of tools and resources to manage COVID early for best outcomes: Vitamin D, K, C, Zinc, sleep, hot and cold therapy, and nasal washing and gargling. I had it last month. It was like a bad cold. But I felt so empowered with my "COVID toolbox". In time ALL of you, and the rest of the doctors who committed themselves to saving lives, and sharing life-saving information will be on the right side of history! Thank you for all you do, AND for making complicated things easier to understand. You're the best! I'm a subscriber for life!💕

    Having lived in Israel, I might comment on this remark in the paper: "The prevalence of the deficiency in Israel is similar to the prevalence found in less sunny regions." There is a reason for that. Israeli winters are its rain season, often dark and cloudy. Israelis don't get much sun then. Summers are extremely hot and dry. Except at the beaches, Israelis avoid it. Not much sun then either. I know. I did much the same. Once, hiking along a highway, I found myself crossing and recrossing the road to get a few moments of shade under trees. Conclusion: A sunny country does not guarantee high Vitamin D levels. What matters is how much time people spend in the sun.

      There’s an article somewhere on google about a small uk study that found that people who have had many common colds in their life had a tendency to not catch covid despite being exposed . They said that’s because some common colds are also types of corona virus and thus likely provide some immunity . That could also be a factor along with vit D’s immune boosting properties . In the winter I take two 1000 IUs of D per day: The day they announced the first lockdown in 2020 i rode a crowded bus but didn’t get sick.

      At 2:04, in the general population 77.5% of women and 79.2% of men are vitamin D deficient.
      At 8:47, 87.4% of patients with severe or critical disease had less than 20 ng/mL.
      So basically 77.5% - 79.2% of the population make up 87.4% of those with severe to critical disease while 20.8% - 22.5% of the population make up 12.6%.
      So about 88.15% -> 20.8% of severe illness while 21.15% -> 12.6% of severe illness. 12.6*88.15/21.15/20.8 = 2.52
      This means that increasing your Vitamin D reduces your risk of severe illness by a factor of 2.52, or by around 60.4%.
      The vaccines reduce your risk by 90-95%.

This made a big difference in my health and performance. We saw early on the benefit of high vitamin d levels during this pandemic. A previous recent study (I think Campbell covered) did a careful Meta-Analysis that easily concluded the same. But they went further and extrapolated with that easily drawn line, that anyone, no matter what CovidComorbidities, whose D level was above 50ng or 125 nmol, would have ZERO risk of CovidDeath! There just are so few of us, there's still no way that could be "proven" with a high level of mathematical confidence.

If we'd addressed vitamin D, diabetes, obesity, etc we'd have had a very different outcome. That low severity of COVID in developing countries where the COVID risk factors are much less prevalent (the "diseases of western civilisation) is a conversation that was not only ignored but actively repressed in the rush to new and expensive treatment approaches.

      I also witnessed Drs not prescribing Vit D and encouraging patients to source their own. The patient would then go and buy 1000iu which was nowhere near enough to bring their levels up to standard thus keeping them deficient. 20,000,iu and over was needed to get the patient well, especially living up North, and not forgetting some people can have an absorption problem.

      The Japanese get more vitamin K2, but they tend to shun the sun, especially women. They eat more fish, but probably not enough (you would need to at least one serving every day and specifically fatty fish, and even more specifically salmon if it was only one serving; almost any other type of fish would require 2 to 3 or many more daily servings) to significantly raise vitamin D levels to adequate or higher, especially in the winter or fall. I'm not aware that there is much mandatory vitamin D fortification/supplementation in many of their foods like in Sweden. The Japanese are much less obese as a nation, so they require less vitamin D since there is less fatty tissue to distribute it to...

      Japan is one of the few countries that does not have soaring levels of obesity. (Japan has less than 5% while US and UK has 25-40%).
      Also Japan has the oldest population in the world and a country like Brazil is on the younger spectrum of the scale. But Japan is still 18 times lower than Brazil in covid deaths per 100 000 population.
      All countries hit hard by covid has soaring levels of obesity and low levels of Vit D.

      As and Ozi I scored severe RA (rheumatoid arthritis) about a decade ago, being a family heirloom I was resigned to it and got good medical support. Ended up on Plaquinel (Trumps magic drug) and big hit of methotrexate both immunosupressants as the disease is a autoimmune thing and the meds put the disease into remission. The "meth" made me very nauseous and was told to take a lot of folic acid supplement at prescribed rates. Since then I have just never caught a cold or flu or any viral disease. Quite remarkable. It depends. Horrific colds/ flus sweep through Sydney and major cities ( anywhere international visitors enter the country). Be careful of the public transport system, buses and trains may look tidy but they are covered in germs, stay out of cinemas and crowded places in winter. Sydney gets cold in winter - recognise sick people / yourself , on a cold dark night as people travel back home you'll see most people rugged up , amongst them you'll see some striding along, coat open/ wearing little clothing - they hot and sick. People that perpetually wear shorts winter or summer are often carriers.

    This is just another, recent report of its beneficial effects in preventing covid infection and reducing its severity but theres been lots since the start of the pandemic (pre & post vaccination). Governments ought to have adopted this approach at the outset before deciding on a subsequent, vaccination strategy which would likely have been much different to the one adopted. They were told by >200 scientists in a letter - but ignored that advice!

      So about 88.15% -> 20.8% of severe illness while 21.15% -> 12.6% of severe illness. 12.6*88.15/21.15/20.8 = 2.52

I believe it’s our strong levels of d. We take zinc, c and k2 as well.

      @@richardrhodes5644 cold sores are an interesting symptom I have rarely and it's quite interesting to me when it shows up. I often don't understand it. But sometims it's clear.
      As soon as I spend a few hours or a day in a living space with a toxic mold issue, cold sores tend to show up (along with many other symptons).
      Sometimes it seems to break out when my body is fighting some "bug".
      I assume it has something to do with immune system modulation allowing the dormant herpes virus to temporarily thrive.
      These are all just my personal observations and hypotheses.

    All through my life, I’ve dreaded Winter. As a lifelong asthma sufferer, I’ve always had a cold every Winter, leading to very bad bronchitis. Two years & 3 months ago, after a very nasty bout of bronchitis, I started taking Vitamin D3. I’ve never been healthier. 2 minor cold in the last 2 years & 3 months, no bronchitis whatsoever.

    Excellent Job Dr Campbell. You have been way ahead of the game and had me on track with my vitamin D when you first brought it up a long time ago. Perhaps that’s why I have been exposed several times but still haven’t gotten Covid yet (?). Your channel has been excellent in exposing so many tests results to help the public and questioning why the “heads” are not responding properly at times for our protection. Kudos to you !!!

    When Dr. Seheult said that metabolized Vitamin D is a hormone and that High Fructose Corn Syrup directly de-activated metabolized Vitamin D, It was like a light turning on for me.! I think it could help explain the massive obesity, diabetes , and high blood pressure issues with populations that consume large amounts of HFCS. If most of the food you ate and drank had HFCS in it, it would seem logical that you could be vitamin D deficient, if HFCS directly de-activated metabolized Vitamin D. It could be causing hormone imbalance.

    Thanks for this video (and all the others). You should encourage people to get a blood test to check their Vit D level. I was taking 5,000 iu/day well before the pandemic and assumed it was enough. I had a test last year that came in at 23 ng/ml. After consulting with my doctor I upped my dose to 10,000 iu and the next test was over 50 ng/ml.
