Circulating vitamin D level and mortality in prostate cancer patients: a dose-response meta-analysis
pubmed.ncbi.nl...
Results
Higher vitamin D level could reduce the risk of death among prostate cancer patients.
Association of circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D level with prognosis of prostate cancer
We conducted a dose-response meta-analysis
Seven eligible cohort studies, n = 7, 808
The summary HR of prostate cancer-specific mortality
An increment of every 20 nmol/L in circulating
vitamin D,
(20 nmol/L = 8 ng/ml)
HR = 0.91, (P = 0.002)
Every 20 nmol/L increment in 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a 9% lower risk of,
all-cause mortality,
and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
Pooled HRs were stable and not obviously changed by any single study.
No evidence of publications bias was observed.
This meta-analysis suggested that higher 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a reduction of mortality in prostate cancer patients,
and vitamin D is an important protective factor in the progression and prognosis of prostate cancer.
Risk estimates with 95% CI for the association between 25(OH)D and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
Mechanism
Vit D, could cause cell cycle arrest,
and induce apoptosis,
inhibiting cell proliferation in several prostate cancer cell lines
Protection from prostate epithelial cell lines from oxidative stress

A "real" doctor serving his patients and his oath!
What a rare person in these sad times.
Thank you for all you do.
John, You deserve some form of Award for services to humanity. For going where many others were too afraid to tread.
I love John. But he still called people in the know about covid and the vaccine conspiracy theorists. While guiding people to take the vaccine. I'm not a doctor but seen enough evidence to know he was sadly mistaken. When you meet the doctor who worked alongside fauchi for 20 years on the virus and vaccine, I would say they have credibility and are clearly not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not a doctor, but I understand the bodies immunity system works very well. It's far better than the vaccine. I love John, and he finally caught on and speaks the truth, but I keep an eye on him. He was in the beginning misleading masses of people to life-long problems. That's pretty serious.
Thank you Sr.
And that means no money from Big Pharma.
How about the Nobel Prize for John....makes sense to me. He is a treasure to us all.

I have been taking Vitamin D3 supplements since I started watching your channel in July 2020. This news about reduction in prostate cancer is a complete surprise and fantastic news for me. I was successfully treated for prostate cancer in 2014. It does not mean immunity forever, however. Just being realistic. The last time, I tested 41.5 ng/ml (x 2.5 = about 103 nmo/L ) for Vit D3 at the end of December 2021. I will keep up this Vitamin D3 intake (and added K2 last year) and increase the dosage, since I was taking a fairly low daily dose of 2500 IUs. I am so thankful for your solid, dependable information. I will be sharing this video post to many friends.

Good afternoon everyone. Please remember to take your Vitamin D. Have a good day 😊.
Fasting can help your vit D levels because when your insulin level is high your body not only uses it very quickly but it also becomes locked up in the fat cells and unable to move through the body. Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.
Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers, but some patients may need continued acid reducation medication while fasting.
Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles as much as 1/3 of all immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting.
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS.
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose.
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses.
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, which destroys them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice.

I started taking vitamin D 3 years ago after Joe Rogan had a doctor on his podcast explaining how important it was for you to take vitamin D. This was also at the start of the covid pandemic and I am so glad I started taking it. My health has done a 180 since, it seemed like it woke me up from always being sluggish. If I could make everyone start taking it I would. It really is beneficial!

The same here.
I will continue to supplement it for the rest of my life.
I started taking it about three years ago as well. When the authorities were trying to scare the hell out of everyone in early 2020 about the risks of Covid-19, I started looking for some kind of intervention that could help prevent me from getting the virus. I'd always heard of vitamins, of course, but had never really had much interest in them. I discovered vitamin D3 and vitamin C, then zinc, quercetin, and vitamin K2. I now take those every day, and for the past three years I have not had as much as a single sniffle. I chose not to take the covid-19 injection, and I've never felt better. I turn 73 in August. 🙂
Everything Rogan was villified for saying or exposing......turned out to be true

These are the studies the govt should be funding, not supporting big pharma
Absolutely they should. As Dr Campbell says though, there’s no money to be made.
@@tinkerbell9399 The government doesn't need the studies to make money, it's freely available from the taxpayers.
You cannot trust the government these days, about anything. Like the global warming hoax and the mRNA shots that are safe and effective :-(

At that dosage you should add K2 100 mcg. Listen at 9:22 and 10:40, he discusses why to add it at the second point.
@@jennshirt Thank you. I already take the K2 :)
My husband is a patient of a famous cardiologist/researcher and he advises all his patients vitamin D level be 150!! We are taking 10,000 IU’s daily!!
Same here. 10.000 units/day 👍
My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostrate cancer at the start of the pandemic after watching your videos regarding the benefits of vitamin D I advised my dad to start taking vitamin D he is currently in remission and still is taking is vitamin D
Just to reassure anyone recently diagnosed with Prostate cancer, it is NOT a death sentence !
On initial diagnosis, I became very depressed, and contemplated taking an "easy way out" ...................
I am 78, and had diagnosis in 2002, radiation in 2003, my current PSA is 15.3 - the same as it was three months ago. The steady increase appears (so far) halted, or, so I hope !
I started taking 2000IU of Vits B1, B12, C, D, plus Spirulina toward the start of the last couple of years (guess why !), have had no colds, and the stabilisation of my PSA.
I have normally taken Vit D, but, over the last three months, had Vit D3 - coincidentally!
Good Luck to any Men out there, battling or freshly diagnosed, you are not alone, there IS Hope and Future.
Just imagine missing out on your Grandchildren - as I so nearly did !
Thank you, newly diagnosed at 64. I'll take your advice, and your kind wisdom
Thank you so so much for bringing us this information John. Why oh why should we have to rely on good folk like yourself, it's so hard not to be cynical towards the pharmaceutical industry. 😔
Anthony... They're talking about drugs for oncology and cancer treatments on the FDA yt ch today.
There is never any mention of vitamin anything.
Most medical practitioners were brain washed at medical school. They can even be struck off for prescribing cheap alternatives.
Being cynical is good. Probably about most large bodies, but certain;y for pharma. I'm less than trusting of the NHS now as they seem to have swalloed the lies of non-medical experts aka politicians, and a mere patient can't tell them anything. You're right, we must take responsibity for our own health, and John is one of the ways we can do that.
Vitamin D deficiency was found in people with rickets .... So when they upped D-complex levels in that population they had stronger bones.
Think of them as drug dealers but with lower morality and you will be close
Dr. John thank you for your continued work in medical solutions.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've been taking D3 since Covid started '19 '20
Best thing I ever did for myself, thank you Dr for your wisdom.
My COPD has improved & my use of the rescue inhaler meds has notably decreased. Still have to be careful around certain fumes, oders & exhaust but your interpretation of the data so far, is 💯%spot on so far 👍👍
Fasting will also help a great deal with COPD. And it also helps raise your vit D levels by making you metabolically more healthy! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.
Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.

Fasting can help a great deal with cancer prevention, which is largely a disease of metabolism, inflammation and hypoxia. It is also difficult or even impossible to have a high level of vit D if you are metabolically unhealthy, and the quickest way to achieve that is to do a small amount of extended fasting! May God bless you, Dr Campbell, for your sincerity and your dedication. I couldn't be happier for you since you turned around after you saw the light of what was really going on with the pandemic and the experimental bio-weapon devices. Keep up the great work and be safe!

I have recommended D3 to Friends of mine who never enjoy sunshine. Some suffer from depression. I have mother taking d3 as well. Thank you for sharing , you deserve to be applause for your work.
That is why people tend to get depressed in winter, lack of vitamin D.
Love you John. You have the patience of a saint, and are doing more good for this world than anyone.
Dr John thank you so much for your truth and constant education that we so desperately need.
As a 75 year old I have been taking vitamin D3, Fenbendazole (222mg 3-4 times weekly) along with a healthy diet as my anti-cancer protocol. Recently Joe Rogan and Graham Hancock discussed using Fen Ben as a low cost “repurposed drug” treatment.
As always, thank you Dr Campbell for your sharing your research.
Like seeing a trusted and good friend. I watched you everyday during covid as we intubated many in respiratory failure. Grateful for your work Sir.
I think this had an impact on my prostate cancer prognosis. 2019 i has three positive biopsy cores ... then Covid hit and i boosted my Vit D, as well as zinc and other vitamins... i was down to two positive cores in 2021, and only one positive core in 2022.
Keep telling it. The personal success stories its what gives others hope.
How much zinc per day?
@@ShepherdMinistry I'm taking 30 mg three times a week, so a little more than 10 mg per day. I think you are supposed to stay under 15 mg per day or else you can start an imbalance with copper.
Vitamin D has practically changed my life. I thank this and other channels for promoting it during the recent years. I hardly ever get sick now and my mood is noticably more possitive on average. Been 2 yrs 5-10,000iu daily.
Sadly, my hair began falling out at 10,000iu per day. Now I take no more than 4.000iu per day and ALWAYS with K2.
@@ianhesford Indeed I only recently heard of the k2-d3 thing and was NOT consuming k2 at the 10k iu per day of D3 that I took. Thankfully my hair is growing back with just the d3-k2 supplement I now take, and the smidgen of d3 in my multivitamin. Warmest regards.
@@tenayshus The K2 will allow calcium to be deposited in the bones, where it belongs. It may have been tissue calcification around the hair roots that caused your hair loss.
More than 3 years ago, when I started taking higher amounts of magnesium (which works in concert with VitD and K2), a bald patch on my crown grew back.
This tissue calcification also affects other parts of the body, such as the bladder wall, where it can lead to incontinence, and the ears, causing impaired hearing.
This is a very important video that I hope many men around the world, of all ages and backgrounds, watch thoroughly.
As a Certified Health Coach…. I’ve been pushing vit D the last 18 years, more so during the beginning and duration of the PLANDEMIC. It works, coupled with Calcium/Magnesium/ Zinc and a low carb to carb free lifestyle. Care to live a long and healthy life? Be you’re own expert…..truth will set all free. Thank you John for another informative video for the naysayers and curious folk👍🏼
Prior to my prostate being removed, (now 64 and cancer free) I reduced my PSA from 10 to 6 in 6 months using Vitamin D3 and reducing my intake of inflammatory foods.
This study also correlates with Dr Thomas Siefried"s clinical studies at Boston College. Thank you for sharing
Thank you Dr. John! This was timely for my cousin who was just diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Been taking 10,000iu daily in winter for years.
Got a letter from the doctor saying they weren't bothering to check my PSA anymore as it was so low.
If you could chronicle the coincidence of dropping PSA with vitD intake, it would give hope to many others.
Congrats 👍
Thanks again DR. 3 years ago we started at 400 IU. Then we went up to 2000. Then up to 4000. So 50 ng/ml...
Your dosing reflects a learning trajectory.
Dr John, you are a blessing to humanity 🙏🏼🇺🇸🙏🏼 Thank you Sir

Thank you for your generosity. You are a breath of fresh air.
You do realise the vitamin D market is worth nearly 2,000,000,000 a year!
Plenty of profit in vitamin D.
John can't even be truthful about that.
@@stephenwilliams3213 What tf are you even talking about?? That's less than 33 cents per human per year! 😂😂😂
@@red-baitingswine8816 Do you struggle with numbers.
By 2030 the world vitamin d market will be worth 2.4 billion.
That is hardly pocket change.
Plenty of money to be made as cheap to make.
Thank you very much Dr. John. This latest video on Vitamin D means a lot to me.
This is good to know. I was shocked how much better I felt all around when I was taking V-D during c-v. So good I still take it daily. Thank you Dr. Campbell.
I moved to Italy after my prostate cancer radiotherapy treatment finished. I watched tour vitamin D post and am shocked that you can’t get your bloods tested. Every 6 months is pay around €25 for PSA and Vitamin D - private but simple. The results are available on line within 24 hours. Last time my PSA was 0.058 👍👍 but Vitamin D was 26. I am now taking 4000 per day. Thank you John. You are a saint !!!!!!
Come to Italy for a blood test 😅😊 No referrals necessary 🤷😏
Huge thanks for your advice and reassurance. After taking your suggestion I and my wife have started taking Vit D 4000IU and K2 last year 2023. I have a long term medical condition and had Dr diagnosed viral infection in early January 2024 which brought on Anaemia with a blood count of 61. In hospital for three days to get a transfusion ( I was below the 80 threshold) on the afternoon of the transfusion I was told by the doctor "your blood count has shot up to 88 so you do not need the transfusion and can be discharged" with regular blood tests my count has now recovered to 127. June 24 " Almost Normal" said my Dr . I am delighted. I had pestered for a Vit D test and this same blood test gave the result 108. The hospital acknowledged it gave me no medicine and all I have done is take my daily Vitamin D tablet with my breakfast. I also take vitamin C and folic acid tablets for other reasons but Dr Campbell I think I owe a huge thankyou to you for your suggestions through your podcasts. I think Vitamin D has helped me keep wonderfully healthy. ❤❤❤
Great information. I've been taking 5000-6000 IU of Vit D with K2 for the last 3 years. I take it everyday, as more and more doctors see many benefits of it.
I am glad that I began vitamin D against COVID and will continue against próstata cancer. Thank you very much
Totally agree with Dr.John I had stage 3 cancer my vit D level was 11. I take high levels now 6,000 in aday
Prayers are with you 🙏🏿
Same. Very low vitamin D and stage 3 metastatic thyroid cancer. This October it will be 10yrs. They check my D3 and tumor markers every 6 months still at 1
@@Rebecca-1111 Thats amazing. My mother has metastatic cancer, can you tell me how much vitamin D you take? Would love to hear from you too @jonwhite2365
I started vit D supplement this year after getting continuing stomach bowel and chest problems after getting covid-19 in Nov 20, and it has really helped. Your research and assessment has my confidence Doctor.
Thankfully I have a doctor who routinely recommends Vit D. testing. It's a low cost in Canada. Mine was low. He recommended 2000IU supplemented daily and my levels are on the low end of normal. I've since increased to 4000IU and am looking to schedule my next test.
Dr. C you are the BOMB 💣 So many inexpensive and simple things we can do to be healthy. Thanks for your dedication to helping us become empowered.
My Primary Care Doctor at the VA Hospital (I'm an American Veteran) always checks my Vitamin D level along with everything else and, even with the 4000 IU/100mcg of Vitamin D3 I take per day, my Vitamin D level is always considered at a very good and safe level. It's great to know that Vitamin D helps with Prostate Cancer, too. I knew that it, along with all the Vitamins and Supplements that you, Dr. Campbell, have been recommending help boost the immune system, but I didn't know just how far reaching they can be. I also take CoQ-10 and Omega-3 from two sources, Krill Oil and Flaxseed Oil, with the latter taken when I get up and the first when I go to bed. Yes, I take 100mcg of MK7 Vitamin K2 with 100mcg of Vitamin D3. The VA Pharmacy doesn't carry K2, so I purchase it myself.
I always tell family, friends and acquaintances about the regimine I take for my immune system, which I got from you, and I emphasize to blacks and those with darker skin how important it is that they take Vitamin D3 and K2 for the reason you stated. And back when masks were a thing, I always told them why wearing a mask, for them, even when others didn't, was good for them because they get less Vitamin D from the sun due to their darker skin.
Thanks for the expanded coverage of Vitamin D. You're a Saint, Dr. Campbell. A Guardian Angel. Thank you for everything you do for uis!
If He is right it wouldn.'t be need for Dr like him.
4,000 iu Vit d doesnt do much, a threshold maintenance dose is 10,000 iu with vit K2...
I don’t understand what masks have to do with getting proper Vitamin D
@@cutazabutton Masks have been proven to be ineffective and this is widely accepted now by about everyone except Fauci, though not widely known because of Mainstream Media (MSM). Masks don't have anything to so with Vitamin D, Covid, or anything else about the Pandemic Fiasco or protecting you or anyone else in any way. Just take your 4000 IU/100 mcg of Vitamin D3 every day, the same of Vitamin K2 from MK7 (not MK4), a daily High Potency Multivitamin with Minerals and go about your life with a Boosted Immune System to protect you. I also take Vitamins C and E, Iron and Zinc for my immune system.
Thank you. This is so important. It is known that many people in the northern parts of the globe have a shortage of vit D in winter and I suspect also in summer. Not all people receive enough sun shine and many people do all they can to block the sun from reaching the skin for fear of skin cancer.
Hi John,
Found this very interesting. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of 2007, Gleeson score of 7 (3+4) PSA was 2.5 at the time. My vit D level has increased over the last couple of years and is now at 121 nmols/l (oz uses same as UK). The recommended level for Vit in Oz is >49. So it was good to see that report. Since getting my Vit D levels up I have also had other health benefits. I still take 2000 iu Vit D a day.
You certainly like to live dangerously with your last statement about safe and effective.
I have admired your posters, especially the one you have in the background of this video, we certainly need to follow the road, in fact many roads, especially the financial road and who benefits to get to the truth in this current crazy world.
All the best, regards from Oz, Dennis
Did you remove your prostate? Just curious what approach you took to treating the prostrate cancer? Any information would help.
Keep going!!💪.x
Love you Dr Campbell, appreciate the journey you're taking here. I've watched your willingness to face all turnarounds of viewpoint with grace and dignity as you gradually worked through the data and evidence . I wish those in positions of power were more like you!
My own wake up really took a 180 post Great Barrington declaration in 2020. I was often frustrated with you up until the point at which I could see your realisations on the clear bias of medical and media interests.
I've dug deep now for over 15 years, so I had a feeling something like Covid was on the horizon..
Our world is extraordinary, but it needs our informed participation to make it into the place we all want to live. Ignorance & blind obedience, just leads us down a dark path.
Well said and so true. From Australia
Thank you Dr John. I spread the word about Vitamin D + K2 to all I talk to, especially doctors. Most doctors still think that Vitamin D causes problems with the arteries. How about addressing that in a video.
K2 can be deadly or at least highly risky for many millions of us on blood thinners. And it SUCKS!!
The doctors are probably worried about calcium depositing in the arteries. That is eliminated when you take D3 with K2.
It causes problems with their bank balance.
My understanding is you take K2 with D3 as this transports the D3 from the arteries to the Bone where it belongs.
@@dwaynejoyce1357 I understand that, however, If Dr John were to create a short video for doctors explaining this then I could point the doctors to that video. Dr John has more credibility than I do.
Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with vitamin K2. These two vitamins work together synergistically and ensure that calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.
The Sun does this NATURALLY

Vitamin D3/K2 helps to cleanse NAFLD. Also, just a daily handful of inexpensive pumpkin seeds are good for the prostrate, and colon. They’re full of fibre, and help with the issue of constipation.
They may also help with male patterned baldness.
I listened to your advice on Vit D 2 years ago. I have been taking and still take 4000 iu + K2 since that time.
I have a bit of feedback for you. In Dec 21 my Vit D blood test came back at 94nmol/L which I was happy with. I would prefer it to be around 120.
I have just had the Vit D blood test again. This time for about 3 months before the test, nearly every time I went out to work in the yard I took my shirt off, previously I left my shirt on.
So April 2023 my levels are 174 nmol/L. I find that absolutely incredible. So at my best guess I am out in the sun for maybe 3 hours a week [minus my shirt] Not wearing a shirt is the only difference. My location is Queensland Australia.
Thank you Doctor John I wish people would listen when men like you show what to do to stay healthy!
I personally take 8000 u.p.day in winter, 5000 in summer (+vit.K,+ zinc ). On a summer day, in bathing suits, your skin produces about 10 to 12,000 units Vit.D during 20 minutes in the sun (according to a Swiss study)
Says nothing, depends on when during the day. 10-14 is the highest. Pretty much none by 17-18.
Is that actually healthy to take so much though?
@@hazmat5118 it is ok. Toxicity is exaggerated by those who do not have knowledge.

Had a bit of a prostate scare recently after a general health test showed an elevated PSA of 7.4. High but not scary high. An MRI was inconclusive so was followed by a biopsy. Thankfully this was negative for cancer.
As a 60 year old whose never had a serious illness and stays pretty fit this was a sobering few months.
Can't recommend enough to men out there to get yourself tested. If you are at risk, if they catch it early, it's so much more easily treated.
did you have an MRI targeted biopsy? the old 12 core type may not disclose everything. Glad you were negative
@@daisuke6072 hi and thanks for asking. Yes had an MRI scan first. Then it was a 20 something (forget exactly how many) sample biopsy. So hopefully thorough and yes, it was a relief that nothing found. But still a wake up call on the subject.
@@ignoreme1141 thanks. No, I'm not going to relax. This is something that needs keeping an eye on.
Any lesion like nodules and where ? Why inconclusive I’m 49 same situation with inconclusive mri
How was yours treated? My husband has a PSA of 7 & MRI inconclusive. They now want to do biopsy
I’ve known for decades after reading about a study, perhaps the first to show how a supplement can prevent the likelihood of any cancer, that showed injections of vitamin D3 25OH (output from liver measured by blood test) had a greater than 70% correlation with reduced colon cancer incidence. Now this study shows more benefits. I knew a person who avoided sun and didn’t take supplements, and died from colon cancer at age 47, and it was not in the family history. I know the personal reduction of colds and flu incidence and severity.
A study published on the NIH website in the US concluded that the minimum daily requirement for vitamin D is 8,000 units per day instead of the previously recommended 2,000 units. Of course, public health officials in the US have never announced this generally to the public most likely because they are subservient to the pharmaceutical industry.
we r doing 10k/day; fixed my hubbys decades old chronic high blood pressure in 2 days!! hes now also sleeping through the night, over 65, know what i mean?
