Circulating vitamin D level and mortality in prostate cancer patients: a dose-response meta-analysis
    pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30352...
    Results
Higher vitamin D level could reduce the risk of death among prostate cancer patients.
Association of circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D level with prognosis of prostate cancer
    We conducted a dose-response meta-analysis
    Seven eligible cohort studies, n = 7, 808
The summary HR of prostate cancer-specific mortality
An increment of every 20 nmol/L in circulating
    vitamin D,
    (20 nmol/L = 8 ng/ml)
    HR = 0.91, (P = 0.002)
Every 20 nmol/L increment in 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a 9% lower risk of,
    all-cause mortality,
    and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
Pooled HRs were stable and not obviously changed by any single study.
No evidence of publications bias was observed.
This meta-analysis suggested that higher 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a reduction of mortality in prostate cancer patients,
and vitamin D is an important protective factor in the progression and prognosis of prostate cancer.
Risk estimates with 95% CI for the association between 25(OH)D and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
    Mechanism
Vit D, could cause cell cycle arrest,
    and induce apoptosis,
inhibiting cell proliferation in several prostate cancer cell lines
Protection from prostate epithelial cell lines from oxidative stress
    Will supplements help?
Effect of Vitamin D3 Supplements on Development of Advanced Cancer: A Secondary Analysis of the VITAL Randomized Clinical Trial
    pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33206...

I’m a ten year stage 3 colon cancer survivor. At my oncologist’s recommendation, I’ve been on a vitamin D regimen since my remission in 2014. A side benefit has been a reduction in common colds by around 75-80 percent. I’m a firm believer in this study!

Another thing that helps even more with cancer prevention and also recovery, is some extended fasting. Also helps with the problems many develop after taking chemo. On top of all that, it makes you metabolically more healthy meaning your vit D levels will also go up over time. For many people they are quite hard to raise, otherwise.

I love John. But he still called people in the know about covid and the vaccine conspiracy theorists. While guiding people to take the vaccine. I'm not a doctor but seen enough evidence to know he was sadly mistaken. When you meet the doctor who worked alongside fauchi for 20 years on the virus and vaccine, I would say they have credibility and are clearly not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not a doctor, but I understand the bodies immunity system works very well. It's far better than the vaccine. I love John, and he finally caught on and speaks the truth, but I keep an eye on him. He was in the beginning misleading masses of people to life-long problems. That's pretty serious.

Fasting can help your vit D levels because when your insulin level is high your body not only uses it very quickly but it also becomes locked up in the fat cells and unable to move through the body. Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
      Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.
Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers, but some patients may need continued acid reducation medication while fasting.
Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles as much as 1/3 of all immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting.
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS.
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose.
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses.
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, which destroys them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice.

I started taking it about three years ago as well. When the authorities were trying to scare the hell out of everyone in early 2020 about the risks of Covid-19, I started looking for some kind of intervention that could help prevent me from getting the virus. I'd always heard of vitamins, of course, but had never really had much interest in them. I discovered vitamin D3 and vitamin C, then zinc, quercetin, and vitamin K2. I now take those every day, and for the past three years I have not had as much as a single sniffle. I chose not to take the covid-19 injection, and I've never felt better. I turn 73 in August. 🙂

Fasting can help a great deal with cancer prevention, which is largely a disease of metabolism, inflammation and hypoxia. It is also difficult or even impossible to have a high level of vit D if you are metabolically unhealthy, and the quickest way to achieve that is to do a small amount of extended fasting! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.

There are a lot of emotional issues connected with just the diagnosis. Often these men were never ever sick in their life before and that shock itself needs release (especially if anyone close to them died of prostate cancer - one client his father AND their family pet dog BOTH died of prostate cancer the same month). But the physical diagnosis gives them so much shock and fear that seems to make the emotional issues of the past even harder for them

    • @LTPottenger
      @LTPottenger Рік тому +3

Fasting will also help a great deal with COPD. And it also helps raise your vit D levels by making you metabolically more healthy! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy.
Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.

    Hi John,
Found this very interesting. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of 2007, Gleeson score of 7 (3+4) PSA was 2.5 at the time. My vit D level has increased over the last couple of years and is now at 121 nmols/l (oz uses same as UK). The recommended level for Vit in Oz is >49. So it was good to see that report. Since getting my Vit D levels up I have also had other health benefits. I still take 2000 iu Vit D a day.
You certainly like to live dangerously with your last statement about safe and effective.
I have admired your posters, especially the one you have in the background of this video, we certainly need to follow the road, in fact many roads, especially the financial road and who benefits to get to the truth in this current crazy world.
All the best, regards from Oz, Dennis

I took your advice during Covid and started Vitamin D and K2. I also started taking zinc. As of today I haven’t developed Covid 19. Last fall my wife developed breast cancer her prognosis is very good after treatment. Her medical oncologist advised her to take vitamin D3. He is a big believer. By the way my wife is a RN. Thank you Dr. Campbell.
I would love to hear your analysis of turmeric. I started taking it for arthritis pain and I am doing extremely well.

      Turmeric is an oxalate.
Did your ancestors take it ? If so then eat a little of it.
The best thing to do is to behave like a human and that includes eating human food. Don't eat Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs nor Processed Foods. Get good sunshine every day, exercise and good sleep.
What you need is the above and Keto / Ketovore and get the Autophagy and Ketones happening with One Meal a Day and IF.

Interesting information as usual John. On a recent visit to hospital I had a discussion with my doctor about vitamin D, and I cited a couple of peer reviewed papers with positive correlation between vitD and prevention of kidney disease. She was completely disinterested and patronised me for having little knowledge on the subject.

    High John.
    Thanks for your videos.
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2022. Gleeson 3 + 4. It is located in a well defined area. A second area was scored as Gleason 3 + 3 (not regarded as cancer).
Next week I am having a Nanoknife (irreversible electroporation - IRE) procedure to 'kill off' the 3 + 4 area via apoptosis. Some studies have suggested that this will also increase the likelihood of an immune response to mestastatic spread of prostate cancer from the circulating dead cells.
Unfortunately this procedure is still regarded as experimental in Australia even though this procedure has been performed thousands of time worldwidesince 2009 and over 400 times since 2013 by my surgeon. It is not covered by Medicare or health funds. It will cost me $AU25,000 but only involves an hour to complete with very few side effects. Lucky I don't drink, smoke or gamble. What price quality of life.
I have been taking vitamin D3 + K2 for a a while following your videos. My osteopenia has been 'cured' and I will now increase my dosage from 50mcg to 100mcg per day to increase my survival rate from prostate cancer. It can't hurt.
Perhaps you could do a video on IRE

Without one or the other, calcification of the coronary arteries occurs and eventually, the ticker stops ticking.

Just to reassure anyone recently diagnosed with Prostate cancer, it is NOT a death sentence !
On initial diagnosis, I became very depressed, and contemplated taking an "easy way out" ...................
I am 78, and had diagnosis in 2002, radiation in 2003, my current PSA is 15.3 - the same as it was three months ago. The steady increase appears (so far) halted, or, so I hope !
I started taking 2000IU of Vits B1, B12, C, D, plus Spirulina toward the start of the last couple of years (guess why !), have had no colds, and the stabilisation of my PSA.
I have normally taken Vit D, but, over the last three months, had Vit D3 - coincidentally!
Good Luck to any Men out there, battling or freshly diagnosed, you are not alone, there IS Hope and Future.
Just imagine missing out on your Grandchildren - as I so nearly did !
