Just a suggestions. Nail your top plate in line with your studs and not between them. That way if you are drilling or cutting for wiring, plumbing ect. you won't hit your nails.
Remember to write on the studs/behind the walls/leave a little time capsule/write the year/pictures/ before you finish the interior for someone to find in a future renovation!
hello to both of you My name is Franck and I live in the South-West of France. I discovered your UA-cam channel a few days ago and what a pleasant surprise. You have shown great patience and complicity in this challenge. It's very difficult to do the same project here. You predict the worst case scenario for electricity and heating, and you're right - we can never be too far-sighted. When, like you, isolation and the weather can disrupt daily life. Congratulations to you both, and to your supportive family and friends. Yours respectfully Franck
Hi Franck, thank you so much for the kind words. You live in a beautiful part of the world. We had a chance to tour a little of South France several years ago. Welcome to the Mountain Beaches family!
We have had a boiler for 15 years, they smoke so bad when having door open to fill up wood, can’t believe you put it inside, hope you close that off and have lots of ventilation
They don't make wood like they used to . . . good tip on clamping the wood with "wows" as we've had issues with fining perfectly straight boards as well. Looks like you are making great progress and will have a cozy place this winter.
Dang So much progress, Grateful for your sharing on build, Kim you are wonderful on the build!!! Norm keep building , and jazz the little helper. Amazing!!!!❤
@ Thanks! It is looking so good. Wish I had a mountain high cabin😉However arthritic knees won’t allow that. You all are making such an awesome retreat/home. Love it. Have a good week.
What you are doing is awesome. Building your home inside your garage. I love it. So nice and dry. I would love to build the way you are. Btw, does your pressure go higher so the nailer will drive your nails a little further in ? Just wondering for a friend. Lol. Be safe and love the videos.
We are doing it because 1) there aren't that many of them and most importantly 2) because we want thicker insulation mostly for a sound barrier from our shop area with inverters and their fan noise, and potential noise from our food fired boiler.
Hmm, interesting. What do you find annoying about the music we use? Is it the type or volume or something else? We get so many compliments on our choice of music but we also realize you can't please everyone. Thanks.

Thanks!
Please remember to install blocking in the bathroom for towel racks, tp, mirrors, counters, hand holds in shower. Lookin good!
Oh, thanks! Hadn't thought about that!!!!!

Ahhhh, my favorite two Love Birds. Videos are amazing. Don’t work too hard, there comes a time where you have to rest some.
Yes! Thank you!

Ours is rated for indoors use, but I guess we'll find out!
You guys make the most awesome team! - Thanks for your great content - Cheers!

Yea a lot of warped/crooked wood these days.
That blocking is good for closet shelves and kitchen cabinets too.
Great idea!
Dang So much progress, Grateful for your sharing on build, Kim you are wonderful on the build!!! Norm keep building , and jazz the little helper. Amazing!!!!❤
IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND PROUD OF ALL YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR. LOVE YOU BOTH

You two are amazing! Kim is strong as an ox, lifting those wall sections. You better mind your “p’s & “q’s”, Norm!

Great progress Norm and Kim. BTW I just had to re-subscribe. I always look forward to your updates and videos.
Nice to see the progress! surprised you don’t have a tool belt yet! 😜
Haha, I do have one but most of the time I don't like wearing it 🤷🏻♂️

🙋♀️ Hi Guys!! 🍁🌻🍂❤️
Hi back at ya!
You can get an addition for your phone that will show you where all the lines run
Really? Can you share a link to that item? Thanks
Looking Amazing.
Thank you!
Gosh does not seem like 2 years already. No snow yet?
We had our first snow (very light) last week. This video was recorded in early October

Thanks. Yea I can turn the pressure up a little more. Thanks.
Just wondering what happened to the truck ?
You guys are having fun, sure looking nice !
The EGR censor went bad and put the truck into a limp mode. It's all good now.
Very nice work. How big is the barn
56x56'
What happened with the propane tank? Did you get your winter supply?
Stay tuned for a future video where we address that exact issue 😀
Looking great! will you be in the apartment by the time snow flys?
No we're too slow for that haha. We've moved the trailer inside the barndo for now and it's pretty comfortable.
I know you probably already told your viewers, but why are you using 6" studs on inside walls that are not plumbing walls?
We are doing it because 1) there aren't that many of them and most importantly 2) because we want thicker insulation mostly for a sound barrier from our shop area with inverters and their fan noise, and potential noise from our food fired boiler.
Wow’s looks great. Did you have to use 2/6 for the walls or did you use them because you wanted to? Thanks From Wisconsin
Used them because we mainly wanted better sound insulation.
I would love to watch your videos but the music is so annoying I can’t.
Hmm, interesting. What do you find annoying about the music we use? Is it the type or volume or something else? We get so many compliments on our choice of music but we also realize you can't please everyone. Thanks.
