I agree with the previous comments. Butters not playing great, add wines, Marshall, lachie jones and Ratogolea a little too soft. Bergman and Dixson played well for the first time. Our defence is playing/defending oppositions front shoulder. That’s why teams get out the back. Don’t know why they are instructed to play this way. Only positive is we are winning and not playing great. I honestly believe they are timing there run this year and making sure that they are cherry ripe come finals.
Our pressure was good which caused a lot of turnovers, but we just couldn't kick straight early or missed some get-able snaps. Sweet and Burgoyne look like they can play at the level. Boak's pressure and two way running was great, loved having him back in the team.
Once again, we dominated the game but can't kick straight in front of the big sticks. This is going to bite us hard. Also as things stand, I don't believe our defence will hold up especially against top 8 teams with the ease at which teams transition out of their defence into their forward line.
Eeked one out against one of the worst teams in the competition - my disappointment from last week is not quite healed by this. Terrible outcome for SPP. I don't think he's been playing very well this year, but he brings a unique edge to the team and will be missed. Burgoyne has been looking great recently; I hope that trend continues. I was happy with Sweet's play; I really do think there's an excellent player there. I don't hear anyone saying it, but Butters has not been good. If he's supposedly one of the greatest midfielders in the AFL, why is he having so little impact on our games? I dunno, the whole midfield seems a lot softer than I was expecting from 2024. JHF is outshining Rozee and Butters by quite a lot for me at this point. Still hoping for a dominant and exciting game to pop up here some time soon.
How ridiculous, SPP played one and a half games and you don't think he's been playing well this year. Butters has been in the top 3 of the best for port in at least 3 or 4 games this year. I agree on your Burgoyne comment tho.

@@MickDoolan Yeah well Williams got 1 flag in the same amount of time and he had the cream of the SANFL crop i.e. Cornes bros, Tredrea, Lade, Dew, Burgoyne's, Wanganeed, Pickett, Francou etc.
