people are concerned about Arsenal's offensive ability - their front three isn't good enough without quality creators like odegaard and merino. respecfully you cant win the league off set pieces. So when Arsenal gets their creative midfielders back and they are sat 3 points or less of the top, I think the confidence for Arsenal will be back... its not as simple as getting a draw with 10 men at the ethiad makes u the title favorites

I get ur point about one of them being a striker in most situations because more often the not one of them is playing there but it’s like firmino at liverpool wasn’t necessarily a striker cus he’d always drop deep, they created the term false 9 because they don’t play in that 9 position all the time, salah and mane were closer to strikers than firmino cus he played more as a 10 behind the 2 wingers

Haaland is nowhere near as key as Rodri. City literally scored more prem goals, and finished on more points the season before Haaland joined (when they played without a striker...) than they have in either of Haaland's 2 seasons lol. depends what they do in january for me, i think they can get to january with kovacic, gundogen and maybe stones playing in there but they will drop more points until that point. If liverpool or arsenal have a great run now until january they could be 6/7 points ahead of city especially if kdb misses a few more games but i expect city to go and get zubimendi who allegedly regrets not leaving this summer, or they’ll get ederson from atalanta or some young prospect. Maybe they won’t get anyone or it’ll take time for them to settle but i expect them to with their history. They actually didn’t spend much this summer and sold alvarez for close to 100m so they could definitely spend £75m ish on any dm out there

arsenal are playing worse than they did in the last 2 seasons via underlying numbers. liverpool are closer to winning the league than them.
This is because of injuries and 2 games with 10 men they probably should have won. This time last Arsenal really struggled to get out of the gate. It was actually the way they ended the season is what put them in competition to city. Liverpool and Spurs got out to amazing starts but they don’t have the depth to weather any storms to like city and arsenal do, as evidenced by last season. I wish it was a 3 or 4 team race but I’m afraid by years end it’ll be city and arsenal again.

i never understood why going down to 10 men is seen as this gigantic disadvantage. with a 11 your defense is more brave and pressing trying to win the ball, which leaves holes to exploit and attack. with 10 you bring everybody back and create a 9 man wall in from the goal keeper with no holes. i think it’s lowkey harder to get a goal against 10 than 11
